Route 227 is a rugged and steep mountain path located in the Battle Zone.
Vision is limited by steadily falling volcanic ash.
The route connects Route 226 to the south and Stark Mountain to the north.
You will find Barry and Wake near a house and tell you that Buck to Stark Mountain.
Rest inside the house to heal your Pokémon and continue up the stairs to reach Stark Mountain.

Stark Mountain is a massive volcano located at the end of Route 227, home to the legendary Fire/Steel-type Pokémon Heatran.
The mountain is treacherous and requires both Strength and Rock Smash to navigate through its caverns.
As you enter the cave, use Rock Smash and Strength to free the passage and go down the stairs while pushing the boulder.
Go West to find an Escape Rope, then continue East.
At the next intersection, go South for a PP Up and then go North.
Take the stairs and continue West, go up, down and up the stairs, and pick the Burn Heal at the end of the path.
Backtrack to take the stairs up behind the breakable rock.
Push the boulder between both sets of stairs in order to reach a Full Restore and a hidden Max Elixir at the end of the path.
Go up the stairs and enter the next room.
Journey with Buck
Continue on the ridge and talk to Buck who will join you as a companion.
He will search for the Magma Stone, a special item needed to awaken Heatran.
Note that while travelling with Buck, you can't use Rock Climb.
Start by going West and take the hidden Hyper Potion on the smaller rock.
Then take the stairs down to the North and continue on the path.
At the intersection go West and push the boulder to be able to go South and take TM50 (Overheat).
Go back to the previous intersection, go South until you reach stairs going up to the West.
Take the nearby stairs to the North, down to the hidden Flame Plate at the end of the path.
Then go back up and continue South for another set of stairs.
Circle around the path counter-clockwise until you reach the Eastern stairs near the two trainers.
Take the stairs to reach a Rare Candy.
Backtrack to the entrance, go east at the very first intersection and take the second set of stairs going down.
Go South and take the stairs down to the West and take the Iron Ball at the end of the path.
Go back East, take the stairs and continue North until the first intersection.
Take West, then North, take the stairs up and go West to find a Max Revive.
Backtrack once again to the entrance, and this time going East, take North at the first intersection.
Take the first set of stairs down and go North to find a hidden Revive on the rock.
Then go South, push the boulder, go West and then North.
Break the rock and take the stairs to the East and go South to find a Calcium.
Backtrack two set of stairs up and go North on the ridge to reach another set of stairs going down to the West.
Go North and at the intersection go West.
Break the rock, continue until the stairs, take them to go up, and run around the Northwestern area counter-clockwise to reach another set of stairs down.
Take the stairs, push the boulder East and take the other set of stairs at the end up to reach the exit.
Inside the final chamber talk to Buck who will retrieve the Magma Stone and temporarily take it with him.

Return to the Survival Area in the house left of the Pokémon Center.
Speak to Buck's grandfather and then Buck.
You can now walk all the way back to the cave where you found the Magma Stone.
Heatran, a Fire/Steel-type legendary Pokémon, will be waiting for you
Heatran has exceptional Special Attack and Defense stats, making it a formidable opponent.
Use Water, Ground, and Fighting-type moves for super-effective damage.
Bring Ultra Balls, Dusk Balls or Timer Balls for capture attempts.
Apply Sleep or Paralysis status to increase capture chances.
After capturing Heatran, you will have completed a major post-game legendary Pokémon encounter.
From now on, you can go to the Fight Area during the weekends and challenge Barry to a battle.
Route 228 is a challenging desert route located in the Battle Zone of northeastern Sinnoh.
The route is harshly raked by a horizontally blowing sandstorm driven by strong winds off the sea.
This persistent sandstorm affects all battles on this route.
Ground, Rock, and Steel-type Pokémon are advantageous due to sandstorm benefits or resistance.

Route 229 is a seaside path that makes its way through wildly trees and grass in northeastern Sinnoh's Battle Zone.
The route connects Route 228, Route 230, and the Resort Area, serving as a final link between post-game destinations.

Resort Area is a small, town-like area in the Battle Zone of northeastern Sinnoh.
The Resort Area is notably the smallest town in the Battle Zone with only 18-19 residents, making it a quiet and exclusive destination.
The Ribbon Syndicate is the main attraction.
This building is exclusively for coordinators who have earned at least 10 ribbons in Pokémon Contests.
Here, you can purchase expensive status ribbons and access a spa that increases Friendship with your Pokémon.
Route 230 is the final numbered route in Sinnoh, located in the Battle Zone.
This water route connects the Fight Area to Route 229 and features an island with Pokémon encounters.
