Welcome to Bulbapedia, HygorBH!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

 • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
 • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
 • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
 • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
 • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
 • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
 • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
 • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
 • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 20:34, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Link templates

Hi there! I've noticed you haven't been using link templates in several of your recent edits, so in case you aren't aware of them, I wanted to explain them to ensure you are. Link templates are basically a way to save space so you don't have to type as much and our pages' code doesn't have to be as cluttered, making it easier to read. The most useful ones are something, something, and something, which are respectively the equivalent of typing out something, something, and something. So, for example, in your recent edit to DP118, you typed Super Luck, which would have been better as simply Super Luck. We have a lot of link templates, and you can find the list here. Thanks for your understanding! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:59, 3 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Talk pages

Linking Pokémon articles

Whenever you're linking to a Pokémon article, it's important to use the p template, as shown, for simplicity's sake. For example, Charizard is the correct usage, not Charizard. Just a heads-up. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 04:59, 5 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Linking characters

Hey! Whenever you're linking to a player character, always be sure to use the ga template, otherwise you'll leave behind a redirect. For example, Red is the appropriate usage, not simply Red. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:51, 10 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Link templates again

It's pretty clear to me that you need to review the site's link templates. There was absolutely no need for you to link Pokémon and move articles the way you did in the Shamus article. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 23:08, 5 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Once again, you're not using any basic link templates. Please don't disregard this, otherwise I'll alert an admin next time. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 07:16, 28 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Please be considerate and use the link I provided to you. You can't expect other users to keep improving your edits like this one. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 22:08, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Champion

Bulbapedia already considered him a champion due to the orange league dude.Roserade57 (talk) 08:17, 16 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

The Orange League is an anime-only, unofficial League and therefore doesn't count. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 18:39, 16 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Like how Ash is an anime character?Roserade57 (talk) 23:18, 6 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes, an anime character who's mostly challenged game-original Leagues. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:50, 7 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Charizard image

Whilst your image of Ash's Charizard does look to be better than the existing one, we have a title for it anyway. I recommend you avoid adding the image otherwise this might be considered an edit war.--BigDocFan (talk) 19:54, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I understand. No worries. HygorBH (talk) 19:57, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Goh's Dustox

Goh's Dustox is not notable as they have not done anything of note, simply appearing does not make Goh's Pokemon notable. Trapinch on the other hand is notable, as it has been used by Goh for for something that is tangentially plot-related.--ForceFire 05:07, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Goh Pokemon Pages

Polite word of advice for future reference, if you think one or more of Goh's Pokemon are worthy of having their own pages, checked with admin (Force Fire is probably the best one) and wait for a response before making a page. Maybe create a page on your userspace whilst waiting if needed.--BigDocFan (talk) 09:19, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Did you ask another admin if Butterfree was worthy of its own page?--BigDocFan (talk) 08:51, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Goh's Butterfree

Admin have allowed your page for Goh's Butterfree to remain but for future reference, ASK admin first if any of Goh's Pokemon can get their own page, Riox-Ibui had already started work on a page--BigDocFan (talk) 12:32, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Editing multiple sections

Hey just a friendly reminder that if you want to edit multiple sections of a page, you can click "edit this page" at the top of the page to edit the page as a whole rather than by section. Thank you! Landfish7 06:38, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dragonite's gender

Please stop relying on subs to confirm genders, subbers are known to take liberties a put in gender pronouns when there was no gender pronoun stated. As is the case here. The announcer never stated the word "kanojo", which is the word for girl. If you're referring to when Spiritomb continuously used Dream Eater, the announcer said "hanno", as in the opposition. Thank you.--ForceFire 02:44, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Goh's Pokémon

I see you've created pages for Goh's Dustox, Taillow and Lilligant, it might be worth checking in future to make sure no one else has already started work on such a page, Lilligant is fine but other members have already started work on pages for Dustox and Taillow. My advice is click on the image of the Pokémon and check what pages that image is being used on--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 08:29, 24 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Userpage Policy

Just giving you a reminder that Bulbapedia's policy states that You may only edit your userpage three times per server day--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 10:05, 24 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

FYI the server time is UTC. You can usually see a clock at the top of pages near your username, but it's also reflected in things like the timestamps on history pages or Recent Changes. Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:58, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Userpage Policy

Just pointing out that in the space of 20 minutes last night, you made 11 consecutive edits on your userpage, please remember our userspace policy and where possible, try and edit your userpage in one go.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 20:38, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sorry. There were a bunch of mistakes and mispells in my edits. Plus, it was 3AM, so I was tired, yet dead-set on finishing it before going to bed. Won't happen again. HygorBH (talk) 20:50, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Amethio's Ceruledge

Just letting you know, Chosen went to mainspace your article on Amethio's Ceruledge, planning to merge the history of yours and CuteSylveon's pages but as they didn't know how to, so added your information to their page and ended up mainspacing Sylveon's page instead.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 16:17, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Got it. Thanks for letting me know. HygorBH (talk) 16:37, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I was wondering if you could assist me in getting my page for Spinel's Umbreon ready for potential mainspace?--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 10:56, 22 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm so sorry for the late reply. Just noticed your message. Your page seems pretty good for potential mainspace. Maybe later tonight once the episode drops with subs, a good image of Spinel and Umbreon might be all that's left to "improve" it. HygorBH (talk) 17:20, 22 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, no worries about the late reply, guessing you've been busy outside of Bulbapedia to check for messages.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 17:24, 22 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Anime drafts

Your recent anime drafts break the Notability requirements for anime Pokémon, which means that many of these pages are in violation of at least 3 of the content restrictions detailed on the userspace policy. While it is known that the current policy doesn't accurately reflect Pokémon from Pokémon Horizons: The Series, the drafts you are creating are for generations prior and are applicable to the notability requirements as they are currently written. If you have concerns with the notability policy, I encourage you to bring those concerns up on the policy talk page, but what you shouldn't be doing is flooding the que of drafts that are already deemed unnotable. That in itself is a userspace violation. I recommend approaching a change in policy in the right way via discussion instead of putting pressure on the system with unnotable drafts. Userspace policy violation

Hello. Your recent contributions to the wiki for the month of November have violated the Bulbapedia:Userspace policy in several ways.

First, your creation of the following pages: User:HygorBH/Cyrano (anime), User:HygorBH/Drayton (anime), and User:HygorBH/Lacey (anime), do not currently meet the notability requirements for such topics. That is, since these characters have only appeared in a limited amount of episodes of the animated series, not enough information currently exists for them to be considered distinct topics with split articles from their existing articles at Cyrano, Drayton, and Lacey. Thus, all three of these articles are currently violating the Usage of the userspace policy to circumvent other policies part of Bulbapedia:Userspace policy#Content restrictions.

As a result, you have exceeded the amount of personal edits allotted for both November 1st and November 2nd. Because this is a technicality caused by the above policy, no action will be taken beyond just a polite reminder and the following request for how to change your editing habits in the future.

That request is, please add new content to the mainspace instead of personal userspace pages. The anime pages in the userspace are causing several negative affects to Bulbapedia. I've noticed that none of the new content for these topics has been added to their existing mainspace pages. This means that readers, aka the people we are creating this content for, can't access that new information easily or naturally. Userspace pages aren't linked from anywhere. Since people can't read it, the readers assume we don't have the content and go to other websites in order to find what they are looking for. These userspace pages are causing people to visit other websites. I'm sure you can understand why that's a bad thing.

Additionally, The userspace pages heavily handicap articles appearing in Google SEO results. One of the reasons why we follow practices around splitting articles is so that when our content is referenced outside of the wiki, we can provide articles at full strength to have higher results on google and other search engines to draw people in, and only split them when it becomes necessary. When 1 article's worth of content is split between several, it often causes both articles to drop low in the google search results. This is especially true if readers are already choosing those other websites because of the aforementioned problem about userspace being prioritized over mainspace. The majority of our traffic comes in via search engines, so we need to prioritize existing articles whenever possible. We always want people to read the content we write, so we want to give our content the best chance at succeeding.

This week, appropriate content from the existing userspace pages will be moved from the unnecessary userspace drafts to the mainspace pages, and the drafts will be deleted. Going forward, you are requested to follow the general wiki practices around new content and new break-off pages for existing content. Those practices are: adding new content to mainspace pages, and if you feel a topic should be split from an existing topic, adding the split template to the page and using the talk page to explaining your reasoning. As I have now explained why these expectations are important, I will anticipate your cooperation in following them. If you find it difficult to follow these practices, please ask a staff member for assistance.

With all that said, I do want to emphasize that the effort you are putting into expanding the anime content for the wiki is definitely a great thing and appreciated, we just need to ensure it's being contributed in the best, most helpful way instead of the current method that is negative for the encyclopedia. Thanks. MaverickNate 02:03, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

As promised, the content has been moved to the mainspace and the drafts have been deleted. Your work on that content is appreciated.
As a simple reminder since you work in the anime space quite a bit, if you feel a topic should be split from an existing page, adding the split template to the page and use the talk page to explaining your reasoning. This will keep effort from going to waste in the future. MaverickNate 10:21, 16 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
About to the Split template, how should I implement it? Like, next time I create a Draft article for whatever character, should I add the usual "Mainspace/Character" template, as well as the "Split" template? HygorBH (talk) 15:52, 16 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
So all of the things I describe above happen before a draft would ever be created. You would put the split template on the mainspace article that you think needs something broken off (be it a the anime section or a specific Pokemon from a trainer), and post your reasoning as to why it should be split on the talk page of said article (most often this would be a Trainer article in the mainspace). Then, if through that talk page discussion, it's decided that a draft/article should be made, then you would make a draft. MaverickNate 23:54, 16 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see. I'll make sure to remember it next time. Thanks for the info! HygorBH (talk) 00:09, 17 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hi Hygor. I just wanted to point out one detail: I noticed you created a new page for Chalce's Xatu. Always keep in mind to prioritize the pages that are already on the mainspace. You would be a great help if you could collaborate on this instead of creating more pages. We're heading into what might be the last year of Pokémon Horizons, and it's a good idea to tone down the creation of new pages from now on. And there are several characters that need some attention (including some that are on the pages you created previously).--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 20:58, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I know. I just wanted to create a draft page for Chalce's Xatu just in case it gets more notable appearances from now on. But I'll contribute to the main Chalce page if it gets another notable appearance. I won't forget about it. HygorBH (talk) 21:01, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Please keep in mind that creating a draft before it's needed is not considered good practice. There's no rush to prepare these pages in advance. We will now need to ensure there is no information in that draft that is missing from the mainspace, and if there is, it will be moved over and the draft will be deleted as we've done previously so that the proper process can be followed.
