In Pokémon Horizons: The Series, the Paldea first partner Pokémon are the first partners of Liko, Roy, and Dot. Liko first met her Meowscarada as a Sprigatito at the Indigo Academy, where it was chosen for her as her first partner in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part One). A Skeledirge as a Fuecoco lived on the Brave Olivine and eventually met Roy on an island, and as the two bonded, Fuecoco eventually became Roy's first partner in The Ancient Poké Ball.
