Gigantamax is a special kind of Dynamax that certain Pokémon can undergo. Gigantamax was introduced to Pokémon GO on October 26, 2024. Like in the core series, in addition to granting tremendous strength and size, Gigantamax alters a Pokémon's appearance and allows it to use a powerful exclusive move called a G-Max Move. Unlike a Max Move, which is determined by the type of a Dynamax Pokémon's Fast Attack, a Gigantamax Pokémon's G-Max Move is determined by its species. Gigantamax Pokémon can be encountered and captured through Max Battles.

If there are Gigantamax Pokémon placed at Power Spots, Dynamax Pokémon might appear around the Power Spot.

Gigantamax Pokémon cannot be sent to Pokémon HOME.[1] Gigantamax Pokémon count towards a special trade.

In the Pokémon Box, Gigantamax Pokémon have a icon at the top right of their image.

Like in the core series, Meowth that are capable of Gigantamaxing are unable to evolve.
