Carmen (Japanese: タナカ Tanaka) is a character from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. She is a member of Team Star.
In the core series games
Carmen is a Team Star Grunt that appears in Caph Squad's Base. She is a close friend of Eri, and battles the player to try and stop them from attacking the base. Due to being a named character, she uses the Trainer class Team Star instead of Team Star Grunt.

In the manga
Pokémon Adventures
Scarlet & Violet arc
Carmen debuted in the Scarlet & Violet arc. She first appeared at the Caph Squad's Base, where she came across a Tarountula stealing another Team Star Grunt's Rotom Phone. She recognized the Tarountula as Scarlet's and examined the phone, which contained details on plans to launch a coup and take over Team Star. Carmen immediately tried to warn Eri, only to be intercepted by another Grunt and captured.
Later, Eri and a pair of Grunts snuck into the place where Carmen was held and freed her. Once Carmen explained why she was captured, everyone was approached by Scarlet, who was pretending to have been kidnapped in order to infiltrate the base. Scarlet had everyone look over the plans and Eri, wanting the best for all members of Team Star, came up with a plan to allow the coup to happen. In order for Eri's plan to work, Carmen allowed herself to stay captured but with the rope she was bound with loosened for her comfort.
Later, once the rebellious Grunts started their coup, Scarlet undid Carmen's bindings and prepared to take on the Grunts in a Star Barrage.
