Tonko

(Japanese: トンコ Tonko) is a character in the Pokémon Adventures manga. She is a member of Team Star's Caph Squad.

History

Scarlet & Violet arc

Tonko debuted in the Scarlet & Violet arc. She and several other Team Star Grunts aimed to rebel against Team Star's squad bosses by launching a coup and defeating the bosses themselves. This would allow the Grunts to abolish the rule stating that a boss must step down when defeated in a raid, foiling Cassiopeia's plan to put an end to Team Star.

Tonko was first seen at the Caph Squad's Base. She and Patra were tasked with keeping watch over Penny, an Uva Academy student who had been kidnapped after learning about the Grunts' coup. The Grunts were completely unaware that the person they were holding captive was actually a disguised Scarlet, who had been feigning weakness in order to infiltrate the base. She and Patra were later made to keep Carmen tied up after she happened to find a Rotom Phone containing plans on the coup, much to their shared annoyance.

Later, on the night of the rebellion, Tonko and several other Grunts launched a simultaneous attack on the Caph and Ruchbah Squad's bases. They believed that even if Violet happened to raid one of the bases at the same time, he'd only succeed at taking down one of them. To their confusion, Nakano came in from the Ruchbah base to inform everyone that Violet showed up, only to find that a second Violet was also raiding the Caph base at the exact same time. In reality, the Violet raiding the Caph Squad's Base was actually Scarlet in another disguise.

Eri stepped in and stated that she would fight to protect Team Star's home. Tonko, Patra, and Nakano accepted that the rebellion ended in failure and chose to follow Eri instead.

Hawlucha

Debut	Scarlet & Violet arc

Hawlucha is Tonko's only known Pokémon. It was first seen helping its Trainer keep watch over both Scarlet and Carmen.

None of Hawlucha's moves are known.
