Wikstrom debuted in Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction as part of the World of Pokémon intro. During his cameo, he was seen in a battle with Diantha.

Pokémon Journeys: The Series

Wikstrom made his main series debut in Searching for Chivalry!. Ash and Goh traveled to Kalos to participate in a training camp hosted by Wikstrom at the Castle of Chivalry. Wikstrom had the boys traverse through a variety of obstacle courses while wearing armor and defending themselves from Wikstrom's Pokémon. Ash and Goh eventually completed all of the challenges and earned Knight Medals for both themselves and their Pokémon. He also helped Goh evolve his Scyther into Scizor by giving it a Metal Coat and transferring it through a trade machine.

In Beyond Chivalry… Aiming to be a Leek Master!, Rinto revealed that he also trained at the Castle of Chivalry. During Rinto's battle with Ash, Ash used some of what he learned from Wikstrom to be able to win the battle.

In JN103, Wikstrom was seen battling Drasna, using his Escavalier to battle her Altaria, only to lose. He reappeared in JN104, where he met Ash prior to his World Coronation Series against Drasna and saw that Farfetch'd had since evolved. He later watched the battle and congratulated Ash on his win.
