Sword and Shield... The Legends Awaken! (Part 1) (Japanese: ソード&シールド「最強の剣と盾」① Sword & Shield - The Ultimate Sword and Shield 1) is the thirteenth chapter of the Pokémon Journeys: The Series manga. It is based on the anime episodes Sword and Shield, Slumbering Weald! and Sword and Shield: The Darkest Day!.

Differences between the anime and the manga
- The manga opens with Ash and Goh encountering Zacian and Zamazenta.
- Goh is never seen catching a Bunnelby.
- The battle with Gigantamax Centiskorch is shortened. Ash doesn't use Pikachu or Riolu to battle it.
- Ash and Leon do not battle Dynamax Pangoro.
- Team Rocket and Professor Magnolia's appearances are omitted.
- Goh and Sonia never visit Turffield or Wedgehurst. Goh never obtains a Dynamax Band.
- Ash doesn't use Gengar against Gigantamax Coalossal.
- Ash never has dinner with Rose and Oleana at Rose Tower. Rose's offer is instead made during their first encounter.
- Raboot never uses Dynamax. The Stow-on-Side mural is destroyed by Oleana's subordinate's Gigantamax Garbodor instead.
