Pokémon GO Community Day (Japanese: コミュニティ・デイ Community Day) is a monthly in-game event in Pokémon GO that features specific Pokémon through limited-time increased spawn rates and obtainable exclusive moves for three hours. Recent Community Day events have allowed players to also obtain these exclusive moves during the two to five hours after the regular time window.

During these events, different resource bonuses occur, such as increased XP gain or decreased Egg distances. Field Research tasks specific to the Community Day event are also available during the three hour period.

During the Community Day event, the featured Pokémon is much more likely to be Shiny than usual (at about a 1/25 chance[1]); additionally, the Community Day event is usually the first time the Pokémon's Shiny coloration is available.

On January 4, 2022, Niantic announced Community Day Classic (Japanese: コミュニティ・デイ(復刻)), which are returns of previous Community Days in the same month as the original events, but on a different date. Community Day Classics last for three hours.

Event time

Community Day times are normally held for three hours, which was temporarily doubled to six hours from April 2020 to March 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Incenses and Lure modules activated during the event also last for three hours.

Since the October 2018 Community Day, exclusive moves learned by an evolution of a featured Pokémon are obtainable up to one hour after the end of the event; starting on the September 2019 Community Day, this time window was increased to two hours.
