Shroomish (Japanese: キノココ Kinococo) is a Grass-type Pokémon.
Biology
Physiology
Shroomish is inspired by mushrooms. It is a peach color with green spots and green feet. The shiny form is a slightly paler color with red spots instead of green.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Shroomish has a buildup of poisonous powders inside, which it can release when threatened. Some Shroomish also heal when afflicted with a status ailment.

Prefers the damp soil of large forests.
Diet

Shroomish eat naturally decayed plants, leaves, and other compost found on the forest floor.
In the anime
Shroomish first appeared in Taming of the Shroomish. Ash and friends saved a group of these Mushroom Pokémon from having the abondoned mansion they called home from being destroyed.
Several Shroomish that Team Rocket angered evolved into Breloom in A Shroomish Skirmish.

- Shroomish live in damp soil in the dark depths of forests. They are often found keeping still under fallen leaves. This Pokémon feeds on compost that is made up of fallen, rotted leaves.
- Pokémon Sapphire
- If Shroomish senses danger, it shakes its body and scatters spores from the top of its head. This Pokémon's spores are so toxic, they make trees and weeds wilt.
- Pokémon Emerald
- It loves to eat damp, composted soil in forests. If you enter a forest after a long rain, you can see many Shroomish feasting on composted soil.
- Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen
- It prefers damp places. By day it remains still in the forest shade. It releases toxic powder from its head.
- Pokémon Diamond and Pearl
- It spouts poison spores from the top of its head. These spores cause pain all over if inhaled.

Shroomish is based on a mushroom. It is also possible that the design was inspired by that of a Goomba.
Name origin
Shroomish's name is derived from mushroom and the suffix -ish, is like. Its Japanese name is a combination of 茸 kinoko, mushrooms, and 子 ko, child.
