The Secret Key (Japanese: ひみつのカギ Secret Key) is an event-exclusive Key Item available in Pokémon Platinum. It is shaped like Rotom's head, with the outline of its eyes and mouth visible under the coat of Rotom-orange plastic. The key's teeth look like the prongs of an electrical plug. It was the first of four event items in the Sinnoh-based games, being followed by the Member Card, Oak's Letter, and Azure Flute.

The Secret Key in Pokémon Adventures
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
The Secret Key was featured in Unplugging Rotom (Heat, Wash, Mow, Fan, Frost), where it was found by Diamond at the Old Chateau after his and Pearl's second encounter with Rotom. As the word "Eterna" was written into the key, they deduced that it must fit into something found in Eterna City. Following Rotom into the Team Galactic Eterna Building, they soon found a room labeled "Secret Room", and used the key to unlock its door, revealing that the room contained all of Rotom's electric appliances, giving it access to all of its forms.
