Pokémon world locations

Battle Park (Japanese: バトルパーク Battle Park) is a location in Sinnoh. It is home to the Battle Tower, as well as the Exchange Service Corner where players can trade in their earned Battle Points (BP) for goods such as TMs and held items.

In Pokémon Platinum, it was replaced by the Battle Frontier.

Geography

The Battle Park is just a straight path with different Trainers preparing for their battle at the Battle Tower, which can be found at the park's northern end. There is also an Exchange Service Corner located in the middle of the park.

All buildings here use unique textures not found elsewhere in Sinnoh.

Exchange Service Corner

The Exchange Service Corner is a unique building with two sides connected with a bridge, of which part is inside, which a player can walk underneath. This makes the inside appear as a "C" shape, with the area under the bridge appearing as a void. The building serves as a place to exchange Battle Points (BP) earned at the Battle Tower for prizes. The counter on the right side sells a large number of TMs, while the counter on the left sells vitamins and in-battle effect items, some of which are exclusive to this place. In between the two counters is a PC.

In Pokémon Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Exchange Service Corner still exists within the Battle Frontier, but it has been reduced to just a pair of exchange desks in the center of the area.

Battle Tower

Main article: Battle Tower (Generation IV)

The Battle Tower is located in the northern side of the park. Trainers all over the northeastern island speak of the Battle Tower, hailing it as the ultimate test for serious Trainers. It is home to several different challenges. Palmer, Barry's father, is the Tower Tycoon here. The first of these challenges is the standard Single Battle in which the challenger must engage in seven three on three battles in a row. Winning a set of seven battles earns the player Battle Points (BP). The second of these challenges follows the same layout as the standard Single Battle but are rather conducted as Double Battles.

Reason: Overhead map from the internal data

In Pokémon Platinum, the Battle Park appears as a leftover map in the internal data. It has index number 0x0142, like in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

Changes from Diamond and Pearl

The Battle Tower's exterior matches the one at the Battle Frontier, including the lack of shadow, and the building's warps have been removed. The prize lists in the Exchange Service Corner are unchanged and are visually the same as the ones at the Battle Frontier's Exchange Service Corner. The Battle Park's gate was replaced with the Battle Frontier's gate but the non-player characters remain unaltered given their positioning in the map; their events as well as the warps inside the gate have also been removed.

The event where the player first meets Palmer is still present.
