Flame Body (Japanese: ほのおのからだ Flame Body) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. All Pokémon that have this Ability are Fire types.
Effect
In battle
When a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a move that makes contact, there is a 30% chance that the attacking Pokémon will become burned.
If a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a multi-strike move that makes contact (such as Fury Swipes), each hit has an independent chance to activate this Ability.
Outside of battle
In Pokémon Emerald and all subsequent games, it halves the number of cycles it takes for an Egg to hatch. Both the Pokémon with Flame Body and the Egg must be in the party in order for this to work. Magma Armor also has the same effect. Although Hatching Power can stack with the effects of either Ability, the effect will not stack up if multiple Pokémon with Flame Body and Magma Armor are in the party.
