[[Category:{{{type1}}}-type Pokémon|{{{ndex}}}]] Dustox (Japanese: ドクケイル Dokucale) is a dual-type Bug/Poison Pokémon.
It evolves from Cascoon starting at level 10. It is one of the final forms of Wurmple.
Biology
Physiology
Dustox are moth-like Pokémon with purple bodies and usually green wings. These wings have red circles on them and appear tattered. They have yellow antennae and yellow eyes that resemble stylized compound eyes.
Gender differences
A female has smaller antennae than a male.
Special abilities
Dustox's antennae are often used to seek out food, and its wings contain a highly poisonous dust.
Behavior
Habitat
Dustox live in forests, much like its pre-evolutions, Wurmple and Cascoon. In Generation III, they are never seen in the wild, but they can be found that they live in forests in Generation IV.
Diet
- Main article: Pokémon food
In the anime
Jessie's Cascoon evolved into Dustox in Seeing is Believing. It was her primary contest Pokémon and also, it was known to be able to hold down a good battle. Dustox won Jessie her first ribbon in Team Shocker! at the Solaceon Town Contest.
Jessie's Dustox is seen wearing yellow ribbons on it's antenae, the same ribbons Jessie wore in contest. In Crossing Paths she painfully released it, so that it could go off during the Dustox Mating Season.
A Template:Shiny2 Dustox also appeared in Crossing Paths. This Dustox left with Jessie's Dustox and a big flock of Dustox to go mate during the season.

Trivia
- Although Dustox clearly flies, it is not part Template:Type2 nor does it have the ability Levitate, therefore it receives damage from Template:Type2 attacks. It shares this trait with Beedrill and Venomoth. All three of these are dual Bug/Template:Type2 Pokémon.
- Dustox shares the same species name with Venomoth. They are both known as Poison Moth Pokémon.
- While Dustox cannot learn Iron Defense itself, it can be taught it as a Cascoon before evolving. It shares this trait with Beedrill, Butterfree, Beautifly, Huntail, Gorebyss and Salamence.
- Dustox's eyes have changed from green in Generation III to black in Generation IV, though they have always been black in the anime.
Origin
Dustox is based on Actias artemis, a Japanese moon moth.
Name origin
Dustox's name is a combination of dust and toxic, or highly poisonous. Its Japanese name is based on 毒蛾 dokuga, poisonous moth. The cale might come from gale, referencing wind, or scale, referencing poisonous wing scales.
