Silcoon (Japanese: カラサリス Karasalis) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves from Wurmple depending on its personality value.
Biology
Physiology
Silcoon is simply a cocoon-like Pokémon with spikes covering it. It has two red eyes. It is very similar to Cascoon.

Special abilities
Behavior
Silcoon, being merely a cocoon, cannot do much more than quietly hang from a tree branch, waiting for the right conditions for evolution. It hardens frequently.

Silcoon nourishes itself by drinking rainwater that gets collected on its silk.
In the anime
In A Corphish out of Water, May's Wurmple evolved into a Silcoon alongside Jessie's Wurmple which evolved into a Cascoon. Both promptly evolved into their current state in Seeing is Believing, where Silcoon and Cascoon evolved into Beautifly and Dustox, respectively.

- Silcoon shares the same species name with Metapod, Kakuna, and Cascoon. They are all known as Cocoon Pokémon.
- In Pokémon Platinum, Silcoon can learn Bug Bite by evolution from Wurmple, despite not having a visible mouth.

Silcoon is based on the chrysalis or cocoon stage of a butterfly or moth.
Name origin
Silcoon's name may be a combination of silk and cocoon. Its Japanese name may be a combination of 殻 kara, shell, and chrysalis.
