(Japanese: それぞれの旅立ち Respective Departures) is the 34th episode of Pokémon Horizons: The Series, and the 1,266th episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan on December 22, 2023.
Plot
Picking up from before, Liko is glad Terapagos is awake and doing okay. Diana, watching from the window, is glad too. Later, Friede enters the observation deck to check on Diana, who is packing up for her departure. She asks Friede to look after Terapagos for her. Friede has decided to head back to Paldea seeing how there have been ancient records of Terapagos sightings there and that the Tera Pokémon is linked to the Terastal phenomenon. With that, Diana asks Friede to drop her off at the next port. Liko and Roy are eavesdropping from outside, and ask Wattrel and Squawkabilly to be silent so as to not blow their cover. Roy asks Liko if she will miss her grandmother, and Liko doesn't let it get to her knowing that's how Diana has always been. Roy then proposes a farewell party for Diana, and they decide to get the people and Pokémon on the Brave Olivine to help out.
Finishing up one of her Nidothing videos, Dot gets a call from Iono. Iono thanks Dot for the Terastal Cap promotion deal, since she couldn't take it herself as can't put it on with her headgear. Iono brings up Dot being a Trainer now, but Dot says that she already knew about the Trainer stuff before she actually became one. Just then, Liko and Roy knock on the door. Fuecoco comes running in through the hatch on the door, alarming Dot. Liko tells her about their plans for a party. Dot doesn't follow, but Iono understands that her IRL friends want her to come. Liko thanks Iono for the other day, and the latter asks for a favor back. She wants Liko to look after Dot, flustering her. Iono continues about Dot's new trainer status. Looking at Liko and Roy, Dot ends her call with Iono, saying that she doesn't like parties.
At the Explorers base, Amethio consults Gibeon, saying that while he was able to reach Rayquaza, he was no match for it. Gibeon asks Amethio how he felt when engaging the Sky High Pokémon. Amethio says that it wasn't taking the battle seriously, more like it was testing him. Amethio says that he will seize Rayquaza next time, and Gibeon agrees knowing that it and Terapagos are the essential keys to Laqua, "his" paradise. After the meeting concludes, Amethio requests training from Hamber.
The battle takes place, with Amethio using his Ceruledge and Hamber using his Dusknoir. Ceruledge starts with Psycho Cut, which Dusknoir counters with Shadow Ball. Using the smoke to its advantage, Ceruledge goes behind Dusknoir and prepares to use Night Slash, only for Dusknoir to notice and land a Shadow Punch on the Fire Blades Pokémon. Activating its Weak Armor Ability, Ceruledge tries to use Bitter Blade, but Dusknoir catches it by its arms and hits it with Shadow Ball. In its launch, Ceruledge uses Phantom Force. However, Dusknoir grabs it from the portal and throws it aside. Ceruledge cuts through Dusknoir's following Shadow Ball. Amethio believes that Dusknoir has no blind spots. Hamber asks him if he will concede, but a determined Amethio commands Ceruledge to use Psycho Cut, which slices through Dusknoir's consecutive Shadow Ball attacks. The Gripper Pokémon follows up with Shadow Punch while Ceruledge tries to keep it at a distance using Psycho Cut. Hamber has Dusknoir close the gap, but Ceruledge wraps its arms and legs around Dusknoir's arm, which disrupts its attack. This surprises Hamber, who knows that Amethio isn't used to this battling style. When Dusknoir shakes Ceruledge off, the Fire Blades Pokémon uses Phantom Force, sneaking behind Dusknoir and knocking it to the ground. Hamber is impressed by Amethio, who indeed desires strength. Deciding not to hold back anymore, Hamber pulls out a Tera Orb and Terastallizes Dusknoir into a Ghost Tera Type, commanding a powered-up Shadow Ball. Ceruledge uses Bitter Blade to cut through it but is caught off guard by Dusknoir, who knocks it out with its following Shadow Punch. Hamber asks Amethio if he is satisfied, but he requests a rematch.
Back on the ship, Diana watches the sunset before Arcanine points her to the meeting room. Diana opens the door and everyone surprises her with a party they all put together for her. As the Pokémon start singing together, Murdock brings out a cake for Diana, having Alcremie use its cream to decorate it before topping it with berries. Diana also gets some tea for everyone to have with the cake. As they eat together, Friede ends up accidentally getting a sip of Sinistea's tea. Murdock teases Friede about not telling the teacups apart from the Black Tea Pokémon before collapsing when he accidentally drinks some of Polteageist's tea despite Friede's warning, so Diana has Arcanine carrying him off to bed. Dot then presents a video that she made about all the good times Diana had with the Rising Volt Tacklers. First, the film shows their escape from the old castle from the Explorers, then the Rising Volt Tacklers enjoying curry in the Wild Area, and the trouble they got into with Tepen at his antique shop, which Ludlow tries and fails to make a joke out of. Finally, the film ends with Liko and Roy's training battle against Diana, ending with Liko thanking her grandmother. The video gets a positive response from Diana, the kids revealing that three of them made it together, though Dot did most of the work. Diana thanks everyone for the party.
Hamber complements Amethio's growing strength, but Amethio knows he needs to be a lot stronger if he wants to be a match for Rayquaza. Seeing how far that wish will take him, Hamber gives Amethio a Tera Orb for himself. Amethio acknowledges that by mastering Terastallization, he will get the power he needs to rival Rayquaza. As Spinel's Beheeyem spies on them, he and Chalce decide to let them have their moment. With collected data on Terapagos's resonance reaction, they plan to go after Rayquaza.
Liko enters the kitchen and helps Diana with the dishes. Liko then thanks her grandmother for giving her the pendant. It was just like she said, that taking the first step was the scariest part. By doing just that, Liko was able to find new horizons with each passing moment. Finding the confidence to speak her mind without holding back, and facing each danger that followed with courage and friends by her side. Diana takes Liko to the observation deck, feeling like she should be the one thanking her for reigniting her yearning for adventure. She gives Liko her adventure log, having decided to set off on new adventures. Likewise, Liko gives her grandmother a gift in return, a bracelet that she made herself thanks to Ann teaching her how to do it.
After the ship drops off Diana at the port, the Rising Volt Tacklers are on a course for Paldea. They make finding the rest of the six heroes their top priority so that Terapagos can regain its power and the way to Laqua can open.
