The Wayward Cave (Japanese: まよいのどうくつ Lost Cave) is a two-story cave in Sinnoh. Flash and Rock Smash are needed to navigate it, but the cave itself is optional. It is located on Route 206, beneath the Cycling Road.
There is a side quest inside the cave where the player can join a NPC trainer named Mira and lead her out of the cave.
There is a hidden entrance directly under Cycling Road west of the main Wayward Cave entrance. In Diamond and Pearl (but not in Platinum), Strength is required to enter this area.

Geography
Main cave
Wayward Cave is just as the name suggests; it is very easy to get lost in. Most of the caves features are the same and are repeated at every twist and turn. The cave is very dark, and light is hard to find, which is why Flash is needed to enlighten the path.

Trivia
- Gible being obtainable in a secret portion of this cave is reminiscent of how Bagon was obtained in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, beyond the waterfall in Meteor Falls. Both evolve into pseudo-legendary Dragon-type Pokémon, Garchomp and Salamence, respectively.
- This is the only area in Sinnoh which requires Flash to navigate.
- The Japanese name for Wayward Cave roughly translates as "Lost Cave", which is itself the English title for a location in Sevii.
In other languages
- Spanish: Cueva Extravío
- Italian: Grotta Labirinto
