Tyson (Japanese: テツヤ Tetsuya) is a Pokémon Trainer from Mauville City who became the champion the Ever Grande Conference. His Japanese voice actor is 野島健児 Kenji Nojima and his English voice actor is Marc Diraison. He appeared between the episodes Like a Meowth to a Flame and Choose It or Lose It!.

Tyson first appeared in Like a Meowth to a Flame and became friends with Ash and co. He was shown to be a powerful trainer and with his Meowth, he was able to make it to the Top 8 round of the tournament. He then battled Ash in Choose It or Lose It! and At the End of the Fray. Tyson won the match and soon made it to the finals, winning it and becoming the champion of the tournament.

Tyson also has a certain fondness for food like May has. Many viewers find him comparable to Harrison in terms of personality and function (an older rival who goes on to defeat Ash).
