Wattson's Manectric (Japanese: テッセンのライボルト Tessen's Livolt) is Wattson's main Pokémon in all media he has appeared in; that is, in the games, anime, and the manga.
In the anime
History
Manectric first appeared as an Electrike in Watt's with Wattson?. Wattson become depressed after he lost to Ash when his Pikachu knocked out all three of his Pokémon. An Electrike goes up to him which cheered him up. With Electrike around, Wattson forgot about the loss completely and fed the Electric-type some Pokémon food.
Wattson continued to play with the Electrike and when Electrike was about to perform its Thunder Wave attack, Team Rocket interfere with their Vacuum car. Wattson runs up to them and asks them what they are doing with the mecha. They respond by sucking up the Pokémon in the Power Plant including Electrike and Ash's Pikachu. With Team Rocket distracted by the robot Raikou Wattson uses at his gym, this gave Electrike the chance to break out of the cage with Pikachu's assistance. Electrike managed to do so with its Bite attack and reunites with Wattson. It battles with Jessie's Dustox and defeats it after it gave Pikachu problems. After Team Rocket get blasted off, Electrike decides that it wants to stay with Wattson and Wattson adds it to the team. Wattson than says his goodbyes to Ash and his friends, promising to battle him in the future.
Electrike returns in Manectric Charge. When Ash and the others were at Mauville City again, Team Rocket tried to steal all of their Pokémon. However, Wattson and Watt arrived to stop Team Rocket in their tracks once again. Electrike tries to use Thunder Wave on their balloon but the attack had very little effect. When Watt's Ampharos freed the Pokémon with Iron Tail. Electrike finishes the trio off along with Pikachu's Thunderbolt. After the battle, Electrike starts to evolve into Manectric. Wattson was very happy to see his Electrike evolve.
Ash decided to challenge Wattson and his Manectric to a training match with his newly caught Torkoal which Wattson gladly accepted. Later in the gym, Wattson sends it out to battle Torkoal. Torkoal started things off with Overheat which fazed Manectric a bit. When Torkoal used the move again, Manectric took very little damage this time due to Overheat's effect of getting weaker. Torkoal switched to Flamethrower which made contact with Manectric but it shook off the attack. Manectric then starts to use a combination of Charge and Thunder Wave while Torkoal countered with Overheat. Due to Overheat's effect, Thunder Wave gets through and hits Torkoal, which made Manectric emerge victorious.
Personality and characteristics
Before Manectric, as an Electrike, met Wattson in New Mauville, Wattson was feeling depressed after his loss. However, Electrike going up to Wattson caused him to be happy. They became fast friends despite their first encounter. Electrike was willing to do well in performing its Thunder Wave technique. It kept trying but Wattson did not let it give up. Since Electrike was interested in Wattson, he allowed it to stay. After Electrike evolved into Manectric, both of them gave each other a hug, showing affection for each other. During Ash's rematch, Manectric's Thunder Wave was very successful as it knocked out Torkoal.

In the manga
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
Wattson's Manectric first appears as an Electrike in VS. Electrike I. Since many challengers wanted to challenge him, he sent out Electrike along with two Magnemite. Electrike easily defeated them with the help of both Magnemite.
Later, Electrike falls down a hole which lead to New Mauville along with his Trainer, Sapphire and the Trick Master after getting chased by a Donphan. As Wattson was trapped in the power generator, Electrike was his only hope as Magnemite and his other Electric-type were weakened since the power generator had the ability to absorb electricity and Electrike was immune to it. He ran to Sapphire and the Trick Master when both of them were looking for Wattson. Sapphire has Electrike lead the way to Wattson and shows him trapped on the power generator.
Planning to get Wattson out of there, she has Electrike stand guard while she grabs Wattson and Donphan attacks. The power generator zaps them but it goes directly to Electrike. Since New Mauville was full of electrical traps, the electricity was stopped from hitting Sapphire and the others thanks to his Lightningrod Ability.
Electrike reappears in his evolved form, Manectric, in VS. Shiftry. After Flannery called down the gym leaders in their region, Wattson rides on his Manectric as a mode for mobile transportation to get there as it was big enough for Wattson to ride on. Wattson then stood next to it as all of the gym leaders called down, minus Tate, Liza and Wallace, showed up and some of them were with their Pokémon too.
Beginning in VS. Kyogre & Groudon III, Wattson rides on his Manectric after he got a call from the director of the Pokémon Association who told Wattson about the events relating with Team Magma and Team Aqua. He chooses to stop Team Aqua from destroying the Hoenn region. Wattson and Manectric go with Flannery to Mauville City to get everyone to evacuate to New Mauville. Later, Manectric worked with Flannery's Magcargo to take on Kyogre. He used Thunderbolt while Magcargo used Flamethrower. Their attacks were rendered useless despite the former having the type-advantage. Wattson thought of a new plan which had Manectric use a combination of Charge by gathering up some air and releasing it in the form of Thunder Wave. The combo scored a direct hit on Kyogre but Kyogre wasn't hurt due to it using Calm Mind to minimize damage.
In VS Vibrava, Wattson's Manectric continues his battle against Kyogre but fighting the legendary beast alone was not enough. Amber explains after rising from the ocean that Archie's possession of the Blue Orb is causing Kyogre to get stronger. Amber then has his Pelipper take on Wattson’s Manectric. Pelipper delivered damage by using Stockpile and Swallow to recover itself and Stockpile again but this time, it used Spit Up. The combo managed to deliver damage to Manectric but Manectric fought back and defeated Pelipper. Just when Amber lost hope, Shelly gives him a Nincada. This Nincada was an easy opponent at first but quickly evolved into a Ninjask. Manectric had trouble dealing with Ninjask due to its quickness. However, Manectric was finally able to defeat Ninjask with Thunder, also knocking himself out in the process. Wattson is knocked in the ocean along with Manectric from a Shedinja that was formed from the Nincada when it evolved earlier into Ninjask. In VS Kyogre & Groudon X, Manectric and Wattson were saved by Walo when Walo shot water in the air with Water Gun and then resurface them with Dive.
