Route 10 (Japanese: 10ばんどうろ Route 10) is a route which leads the player to the Victory Road. Here, the player battles Cheren once more. It is the final route before Victory Road and contains the badge check gates. Each area between the gates represents the type that the gym used.
Route description
A river flows down the center of this route, and the terrain is littered with cliffs. To the north are the Badge Check Gates, which lead to Victory Road and ultimately the Pokémon League. Each area between the gates represents the type of the Gym each badge was obtained from. Many Foongus and Amoonguss live on this route, some taking the appearance of item balls.
Places of interest
Badge Check Gates
The Badge Check Gates are located in the north-east of this route. These gates lead to Victory Road. Each gate has something to do with the type specialized in by that badge's Gym, which can be accessed after obtaining the corresponding badge.
Trio Badge Gate
This area is composed of three elements: there are shrubs, small trees, flowers and grass; there are two burning torches on the north side of the river; there is a small stream which cannot be Surfed or fished in flowing through the center of the area, with a bridge crossing it. There are also two restaurant tables on the south side of the river.
Basic Badge Gate
It is a garden with hedges and tall grass; both normal tall grass and dark grass. This is the only gate where wild Pokémon can be encountered—these Pokémon are the same as those found on the rest of Route 10. There is three poles connected via red velvet rope, like would be seen in a museum. There are pieces of what appear to be ancient stone ruins.
Insect Badge Gate
There is a large metal bug sculpture in the center of the area. A path goes over the bug, leading to the other end of the gate.
Bolt Badge Gate
There is a metal bridge, with three glass tubes containing blue electricity on each side, connected underneath the bridge with electric blue wiring. This is the only gate with an NPC besides the gate guard; an NPC with the sprite of an Ace Trainer stands here.
Quake Badge Gate
The path is surrounded by gem-encrusted walls of earth, making the path vary from wide to narrow.
Jet Badge Gate
In the center of the area is a large seemingly bottomless crevasse with a strong, constant gust coming out of it, blowing leaves out with it. The player can cross by simply walking across and is supported by this gust. The player cannot run while being lifted.
Freeze Badge Gate
The ground is covered in slippery ice, with icy pillars used as part of a sliding puzzle. This is the only gate which involves a puzzle.
Legend Badge Gate
There are two stone dragon heads, each with a single paw, protruding from the cliff face.
