Sudowoodo (Japanese: ウソッキー Usokkie) is a Rock-type Pokémon. It is found in the Generation II games blocking the paths between Violet City, Goldenrod City, and Ecruteak City until a player sprays water on it from a Squirtbottle. In Pokémon Colosseum a shadow Sudowoodo can be found as a snag from Cipher Admin Miror B. in Miror B.'s Hideout. It is also available in Pokémon Emerald.
Sudowoodo comes with one of two Abilities: Sturdy, which prevents One-Hit KO attacks from having any effect; or Rock Head, which eliminates the recoil from certain attacks -- for instance, Double-Edge.
Sudowoodo evolves from Bonsly in Generation IV.
Biology
Physiology
Sudowoodo has a brown, log-shaped body with some yellow spots on it. It has short legs with toe-less feet. Sudowoodo has club (♣) shaped hands and a face that's similar to Ditto's. Sudowoodo has a forked "branch" on top of it's head.
Gender differences
A female has shorter "branches" on the top of its head.
Special abilities
Sudowoodo is most known for Mimicking it's opponents' attacks. Sudowoodo is protected from receiving recoil damage when using attacks like Wood Hammer and Double-Edge.
Behavior
Sudowoodo pretends to be a plant, but it is afraid of water, and its composition is closer to a rock than to a plant.
Habitat
Diet

In the anime
Sudowoodo first appeared in Type Casting. Two Pokémon researchers were arguing whether Sudowoodo was a Grass- or Rock-type.
A Sudowoodo was pretending to be part of a tree in Camp Pikachu.
A Golden Sudowoodo appeared in All That Glitters is Not Golden. A boy named Keenan experimented on his Sudowoodo to make it strong against Water and it turned golden. The Sudowoodo was upset with the change, and hated Keenan for what he did to it. Keenan managed to turn his Sudowoodo back to normal at the end of the episode.
Brock's Bonsly evolved into Sudowoodo in Leave It To Brocko.
In the manga
In the Pokémon Special manga
In Template:PSV, a Sudowoodo disguises itself as a tree in the middle of Route 37, hiding from a Rhydon. Gold convinced Sudowoodo not to run away from its problems, and Sudowoodo went on to defeat Rhydon in hand-to-hand combat. It soon after joined Gold's team.
A Sudowoodo is captured by Emerald at the Battle Frontier. It appears to be a female Sudowoodo, due to its motherly nature.

Other appearances
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Sudowoodo is a Poké Float. After Wooper first appears, it will move down the right of the screen while Sudowoodo is on the left. Unlike most of the Poké Floats, players are not required to ever go on Sudowoodo. A trophy of Sudowoodo can be obtained after playing on the Poké Floats stage.
Trophy information
An imitation Pokémon with an aversion to battle, Sudowoodo always poses as a tree in order to avoid being attacked. Despite their arboreal appearance, these Pokémon are actually Rock-types, and therefore highly vulnerable to water. When it begins to rain, they vanish. Sudowoodo can be found blocking Route 36 in Johto.
