Flail (Japanese: じたばた Wriggling) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation II. It can be considered a variation of Reversal and the inverse of Eruption and Water Spout.
Effect
Flail inflicts damage and will inflict greater damage when the user's HP is low. The Base Power of Flail is calculated as follows:
User's Remaining HP | Power |
---|---|
71% - 100% | 20 |
36% - 70% | 40 |
21% - 35% | 80 |
11% - 20% | 100 |
5% - 10% | 150 |
1HP - 4% | 200 |
Generation V
Flail's base damage is calculated by the following formula:
P = (48 * CurrentHP) ÷ MaxHP
P | Power |
---|---|
P > 32 | 20 |
17 ≤ P ≤ 32 | 40 |
10 ≤ P ≤ 16 | 80 |
5 ≤ P ≤ 9 | 100 |
2 ≤ P ≤ 4 | 150 |
P ≤ 1 | 200 |
