Aipom (Japanese: エイパム Eipam) is a Normal-type Pokémon.

Pokédex entries

Pokémon Gold
Its tail is so powerful that it can use it to grab a tree branch and hold itself up in the air.
Pokémon Emerald
Its tail ends with a dexterous, handlike appendage. However, because it uses the tail so much, Aipom's real hands have become rather clumsy.

Name origin

Aipom's name may be a combination of ape and palm, referring to the hand on its tail.

It appears to have been based on a monkey, with an exaggerated concept of a prehensile tail.
