A letter from Ivor

Back at the hotel the team will talk about what is causing the Rogue Mega Evolutions, but there are no suggestions as to the answer. You will then get a notification of a new promotion match against Ivor, the leader of the Fist of Justice we met earlier. Urbain/Taunie tells you that Ivor is a master of Fighting-type Pokémon, and this starts the new mission, Main Mission 19: Reaching Rank D.

The Battle Zone

As is the norm at this point before we can continue with our Main Missions, we need to wait until night (or rest at a bench until night) so that we can enter the Battle Zone and earn enough points for a ticket. For our fight against Ivor we’ll need 35,000 points, and of course Bonus cards are necessary to get this done in one night. Keep an eye out for special Bonus cards with shiny numbers on them. They return much higher rewards, so it’s worth swapping out for these when you can. Ticket in hand, we can go to the Fist of Justice’s Dojo to ask for our match.

Josée fights back

When you arrive at the dojo Josée is back and she wants to battle. She has significantly leveled up her team from when we met her at the protest, and now has a level 43 Machoke and Medicham. However, you should still have the Pokémon advantage to be able to deal with her easily.

Following your match she admits that Ivor and his sister Gwynn didn’t come to the dojo today, which is very unusual. At that moment Ivor comes barging in, calling out for Gwynn. He asks if you’re here to join Fist of Justice, and when you say you’re there to battle, he explains that he doesn’t own a phone. Usually Gwynn does everything for him, but obviously she’s missing. Josée suggests that you find Emma and ask for her help tracking Gwynn down so that you can have your match against Ivor.

Detective Peek-with-you

When you go to see Emma you find out that Ivor has already beaten you there. He tells her that his sister usually hangs out at City Hall and promptly goes back out on the hunt. Approach Ivor outside of City Hall and he’ll tell you that his sister isn’t there either. Emma suggests that you go around the area asking people if they’ve seen anyone. You need to speak to the man near the fountain with the speech bubble “The Fist of Justice huh”. He tells you that she is likely at the café near Centrico Plaza.

The search continues

Travel to Nouveau Café for your next lead. The waitress tells you that Gwynn was at the café a few moments ago with Canari. Tell Emma that Canari lives at Racine Construction, and you’ll be ready for your next location. Enter the construction site and make your way over to Canari’s room. She tells us that Gwynn is no longer there, but if you win a battle against her, she’ll give as a clue as to where she’s gone.

Canari has the same four Pokémon as before, but they are about five levels higher and have new move sets. With the extra type coverage and draining moves like Parabolic Charge and Giga Drain, she is much more difficult this time so watch out.

She tells you that Gwynn is going to beat a Pokémon that her partner Pokémon is weak to. Canari suggests she’s at a fountain which depicts that Pokémon. Ivor tells you that Gwynn’s partner is Chandelure, meaning it could be a Ground-, Rock-, Water-, Ghost-, or Dark-type. Of the available options it must be the Clawitzer Fountain in Bleu Sector 7.

Overflowing with ideas

Once at the Clawitzer Fountain Emma asks if you think Gwynn is here. You should answer “I’m sure of it”. When asked how to deal with the water say, “I’d stop the water”. You then need to bring out a Pokémon that knows Ice Beam and have it shoot it at the Clawitzer Fountain. If you need it, TM013 Ice Beam can be found in Wild Zone 12.

Head down into the sewers to search for Gwynn. Noibat, Inkay, and Scraggy can be found down here, and it's the first time we can catch Noibat. Go through all the options with the locked gate and a Klefki will appear. Approach it and Emma will give you 10 Ultra Balls to help you catch it. You are forced to battle it, but you can start throwing balls straight away. Klefki doesn't have the key you need but luckily Ivor just punches straight through it. Further into the sewers this is also our first opportunity to catch Skrelp.

The Sewers

Pokémon Levels Time of day Weather
Day Night Clear Harsh sunlight Cloudy Rain Fog
Only during Main Mission 019
Non-fixed wild alpha Pokémon always have a 5% chance to spawn as alpha unless specified otherwise, once the player has completed Main Mission 05: "The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower".

Gwynn’s hiding spot

Meet up with Ivor and Emma, then follow Chandelure deeper into the sewers. Investigate the pipes, the white boxes, the green panel and the electric switches and Emma will decide it's useless. Ivor will then try to break through the wall only to find that his hand goes through it. Emma then walks through the wall to the next section of the sewer. Follow Ivor through, and walk down the corridor following Chandelure.

It will lead you to Gwynn who challenges you to a battle. Emma heals your Pokémon before you start, and when you're ready, you can talk to Gwynn to start the battle. She has a level 43 Banette, a level 44 Gourgeist and a level 45 Mega Chandelure. These Pokémon are strong but frail, so focus on outspeeding and dodging attacks.

Moving up the ranks

Once you win Gwynn says that she came down to the sewers to get a break from Ivor and managing his Z-A Royale schedule. However, she's now ready to see you face him. You’ll be automatically taken to the dojo where you can start your fight with Ivor.

Ivor has a level 45 Heracross, level 46 Medicham and Machamp, and a level 47 Mega Falinks. The Machamp here is particularly powerful especially after a single Bulk Up. Like his sister, Ivor’s Pokémon hit very hard but are frail, so some fast attacks should see you through.

Once you have claimed victory, Ivor will give you TM011 Bulk Up, and with that Main Mission 19 is complete.
