Walkthrough:Pokémon Legends: Z-A/Part 13

Let’s strategise

The next day Team MZ will hold another strategy meeting after more sightings of Rogue Mega Evolutions around the city. This will begin Main Mission 15: A Job for Team MZ. During the strategy meeting the team discusses the three new missions: Main Mission 16: A Rogue Mega Beedrill, Main Mission 17: A Rogue Mega Hawlucha, and Main Mission 18: A Rogue Mega Banette.

We are able to take on these three Rogue Mega Evolutions immediately but there are some other points of interest we can attend to first.

The Really Wild Zone

Three more Wild Zones are now available to us, including a number of new Pokémon. Each Wild Zone also has a very strong TMs that we should pick up.

Wild Zone 11

Wild Zone 11 hides TM063 Psychic. You can find it on the side of the river where the Alpha Slowbro hangs out. It’s hiding among some thorns so you’ll need a Fire-type or cutting move to clear it. This is also a great chance to grab a Gyarados and Slowbro for battles against Rogue Mega Evolutions, particularly if you didn’t pick Totodile.

Non-fixed wild alpha Pokémon always have a 5% chance to spawn as alpha unless specified otherwise, once the player has completed Main Mission 05: "The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower".

Wild Zone 12

In Wild Zone 12 you can pick up Snover for Mega Abomasnow, and Snorunt for Mega Glalie. There is also an Alpha Abomasnow at level 43 if you’re a high enough level. In the centre of the court where the Machop and Machoke are training you can also pick up TM013 Ice Beam. You will need an XL size Gogoat for a later Side Mission, so you might want to pick up as many as possible while you’re there.

Wild Zone 13

Heracross and Pinsir are the clear Mega Evolution targets here, though Weepinbell can easily turn into Victreebel with a Leaf Stone if you don’t already have one. You can also pick TM081 X-Scissor by cutting down the thorns surrounded by Weepinbell. Just be careful of the Alpha Weepinbell who is very angry.

On the side

Before we get to the Rogue Mega Evolutions there is an interesting side mission for a Galarian Slowpoke, and we can also pick up additional Mega Stones to increase our roster of Mega Pokémon.

Side Mission 039: Slowpoke for Slowpoke

Go to Wild Zone 10 and catch a Slowpoke. Then approach the man near Prism Tower and trade it for a Galarian Slowpoke. Aside from your new Pokémon, you’ll receive $1000, a Pearl, and a Power Belt.

Taking down the Rogue Megas

All of the Rogue Mega Evolutions in this section are level 41 and can be done in any order.

Beating Beedrill

Take the ladder in the courtyard of Hotel Z to the roof and walk down to where Urbain/Taunie are standing. They will teach you how to use Roto-Glide so you can now jump across larger gaps. This will help you reach the Rogue Mega Beedrill, which is our next Mega target.

One of Beedrill’s more annoying attacks summons a swarm of level 7 Kakuna. These aren’t particularly dangerous, but they make it more difficult to lock onto Beedrill. Urbain/Taunie helps in this fight and strong Megas for this fight include Emboar, Camerupt, and Charizard Y.

Once you defeat Mega Beedrill you will be rewarded with the Beedrillite, and you will complete Main Mission 16.

Holding down Hawlucha

Climb onto the roof to talk to Lida, and a woman will approach asking about a wild Hawlucha that she feeds in the area, which has gone missing. Lida will then move further down the rooftop to where Hawlucha is. Hawlucha has a charge attack, which will almost wipe you out if it lands. The trick is to attack the Hawlucha while it charges to break its stance before it does this attack. To do this you need to be Mega evolved to do meaningful damage.

With the added Fairy-type, Mega Meganium does well here particularly with Dazzling Gleam. Mega Medicham and Mega Slowbro are other strong choices. Taking down Hawlucha rewards you with Hawluchanite, and you will complete Main Mission 17.

Busting up Banette

Naveen will help out with Ariados, but Banette has a few tricks up its sleeve. It often splits into several forms, and in the heat of battle with all of the moving pieces, it can be difficult to tell which one you should attack. All of the fake Banette have their own health bar, while the real Banette has a thick pink aura. If you’re still unsure just follow Ariados, as it always knows the real thing.

Mega Absol is a ready-made counter for Banette, and Mega Gyarados is also strong. Sableye can also counter Banette if it’s a high enough level. Beating Banette rewards you with Banettite, and you’ll complete Main Mission 18. Then it’s time to return to the hotel to complete Main Mission 15: A Job for Team MZ!
