BEFORE YOU COMMENT!!
There's been rumblings of too much non-pedia discussion around here, so in the best interest of on-topic discussion, if you want to tell me something personal, or just plain off-topic, send me a Personal Message (PM) on the Bulbagarden Forums.

BTW...tired of waiting for a new Pokémon game just to tackle some new gyms? Then bring it on.

Future Lockdown

Will regular users still be allowed to edit talkpages or no? ht14 08:11, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

nobody, nothing. -- MAGNEDETH 08:12, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
So admins, bureaucrats, checkusers, bots, etc cannot... ok. ht14 08:13, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
well, i thought you meant non-admins. admins will still be able to edit, so we can work. -- MAGNEDETH 08:14, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what I initially meant. You got me there with nobody... got it. i.e. temporary block for EVERY page until the weekend. ht14 08:16, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
basically, the entire userbase will be going into abuse, minus admins. and the abuse will cover all pages instead of just userpages. and you wont actually be in abuse. -- MAGNEDETH 08:18, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
A Bulbanews article has just been published. Full details are there, and you can inquire on that talk page or in the forums if you must. —darklordtrom 08:30, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Userspace Privilages

Hi, sorry to keep bothering you on your talk page. I was just wondering if I have earned my userpage editing privilages back. I have definetely learned my lesson. Also, just to make sure, I should edit the mainspace at least 30 times before making a userspace edit, right? I can assure you that I can use these privilages properly and I will remember to use the preview button (lol). Thanks :). -LugiaRocks (TalkEdits) 19:03, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

youve only been without your privileges for 2 weeks. the standard amount of time to wait is a month, pending good behavior. have you been editing well? yes, but youve also been bothering me about it, and spending a lot of time on talk pages. just relax, and stop bringing it up. the more times you keep asking, the more i dont want to give them back. just be patient, keep making good edits, and if youre quiet about it, ill consider giving them back before your time runs out. -- MAGNEDETH 20:14, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Okay :). -LugiaRocks (TalkEdits) 20:18, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

hi, I recently was disabled from talking, because of too much editing. But, I was doing alot of editing at one time, so I couldn't see all of the warnings. I don't see why you couldn't take that into account, but, if you could tell me your reasons, that would be great. JetanHertz13 08:17, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

the warning on your talk page explains why your privileges were removed. we dont allow users to edit their userpage too much because its not contributing to the site in a helpful way. -- MAGNEDETH 17:20, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Lax and Aero

Okay so I've been reading up on Pokemon Special and I can see that many main team members do not have articles. I will take it upon myself to create these articles myself but I just want your permission first. I will get started on these at least tommorow and I've done some work on the Red article for volume 1 so if you want to see that for proof. LAx and Aero will be my first. Come back with your permission or not and please say why not if no. BrokenMotor 21:39, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

i dont know what youre talking about as i dont read the manga. your best bet is to talk to CoolPikachu! as he is the manga leader. -- MAGNEDETH 21:40, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Pardon my intrusion, but I believe it was decided that Aero and Lax were not notable for their own articles. But it's still better to talk to CP first. --Psyライダー 22:15, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Question

Is there any way to check how many edits I have made in a month? Like how many I've made this November. If I look in my contribs it is all messy and I can't tell how many and is I go in preferences it just says the total. -LugiaRocks (TalkEdits) 23:31, 10 November 2009

for a rough estimate you can go into your contribs and select mainspace only, but thats the best youre going to get. a genuine number of edits can only be attained from special pages you dont really have access to. -- MAGNEDETH 23:33, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. I'm going for contributor of the month this month. I have around 400 edits in 10 days.
Just saying: we have the same birthday - which is pretty sweet. Ok, I will leave you alone now. -Lugia (TalkEdits) 06:05, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
One last quetions... how can I make a link to the Archives? I know that from the Archive to bulbapedia it is: {{bp| but what is it to the Archives is it {{ba| -Lugia (TalkEdits) 17:44, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

HUH?!

Hi. I August I abused my user page rights and ended up locking my page. since then I have tried to learn my lesson and and use the preview button and signature and also listen more carefully to the advice of those more experienced than me. on November 10 you sent me a message saying that my privileges for editing my page have been taken away.

Though I am willing to pay the price and go without this for as long as you see fit, I am somewhat confused about what I have done in November that could possibly hurt bulbapedia or break any guidelines, though I am guessing that it is about the same thing as before.

If it is, then why can't I edit ANYTHING????

Shouldn't I at least be able to edit normal pages? If my editing privileges(except for talk pages) are completely restricted for the time being, why not just ban me?!?! Please respond

GEN1KING (TALK) 05:07, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

gee, id love to help you User:Example but i dont have any records of you doing anything, or my editing your privleges at all. -- MAGNEDETH 05:10, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Sorry to comment on something soooo old, and I'm sure this is the least of your concern at the moment, but your talk page looks REALLY full and there was already a section about it so... Do you think that I could please have my userspace privileges back now? I know the 30 mainspace edits per 1 userspace edit and 3 maximum userspace edits a day rule, but I really just want to have anything except for what I have now on my user page. If you don't think I am ready to have my privileges back, I disagree but will not complain, but could you at least do something like wipe my user page clear? Anything but what I have now... --GEN1KING 21:17, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
heed my advice. i once added 100,000 bytes to a page on one edit because i used the preview button. if you too can learn to use the preview button, you could make a page like mine, or even fancier. DONT abuse the privilege again, if you do, i will be even more stubborn to give it back, got it? -- MAGNEDETH 21:21, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Where's it marked for removal? CuboneKing 01:59, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

New HG/SS Pictures

I just now got some new English HeartGold and Soulsilver screenshots (yes, these are legit. I got them from Pokémon.com, and they are high quality). Should I replace any Japanese screenshots with these, or do I just stick them in the game's page? Also, you use .png for screenshots, right? Pokemon486 01:28, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

did you upload these shots to the Archives? and yes, we use png for screens. -- MAGNEDETH 01:30, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Well, that's the thing. I will upload them, but I need to know where I should put it. Pokemon486 01:33, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
weeelll, id like to see them first. thing is, the HGSS article already has plenty of images, but some are in Japanese. but even so, we want to keep some of the first, original images. tough call indeed. -- MAGNEDETH 01:34, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I'll upload them. Pokemon486 01:50, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
use capital letters where? in image uploading? you can if you want to, just remember that all files are case sensitive on a wiki. -- MAGNEDETH 01:51, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
You don't capitalize when you reply. ^_^ Pokemon486 01:54, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
i wasnt aware i had to. -- MAGNEDETH 01:54, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Meh, I capitalize. And I uploaded the pictures. Files are Hg-ss english 1.PNG, Hg-ss english 2.PNG, and Hg-ss english 3.PNG. Pokemon486 01:59, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
well, i appreciate the effort, but of those shots, the ones we have are better quality, and two of them are even animated. so well have to pass this time around. also, word of advise, when uploading images never use all caps file extensions. (kind of ironic given we just talked about caps) -- MAGNEDETH 02:11, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
1.How can I get better quality? Those are straight off of the Pokémon website. 2.Those are all the screenshots, so I can't do anything animated. 3.I shall keep in mind to make it .png myself instead of having the computer tell me that it's saved at .png and then save it as .PNG. Pokemon486 04:44, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
its not your fault the site posted crappy quality pictures. id just wait for now, its not a major concern. -- MAGNEDETH 04:46, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

List of Pokémon by color

I was wondering, was there any reason for changing the color for the Red category to a pinkish color? The reason why I chose the orangeish-red color was because the Red category includes both red and orange colored Pokémon. Pink just doesn't look right, as there is already a separate color category for Pink-colored Pokémon. Andros 1337 17:14, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

i got a few complaints that the red color was "hurting [people's] eyes" so, it changed it to a preset of "red light". yea its a little pink-ish, but its not as "painful" so to speak. those tables are getting redone soon anyway, so i wouldnt worry about it. -- MAGNEDETH 17:52, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps a better color would be FF6644 as it is an orange-red color that isn't as bright. Andros 1337 18:07, 21 November 2009
ill just update the templates to something else entirely now. -- MAGNEDETH 18:08, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Not to question an admin, but...

Well, that's exactly what I'm doing. I was on Raticate's page, and saw HeartGold and SoulSilver had English Dex entries, without any translation note or anything. I went in the history and saw that you added the SoulSilver one, at least, and I was wondering why. Shouldn't we either put a translation note, put the Japanese entry, or leave it blank until the English release? OR is there some official source I'm missing here? The Dark Fiddler - You enter a poorly lit room... 22:36, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

the HGSS ones are direct translations of the old ones. TTE said we didnt need one. given thay are the same, theres not really a point i suppose. -- MAGNEDETH 22:39, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Ok then. I find it odd that Nintendo's using the same entries, but I guess that's their decision. Sorry to bother you. The Dark Fiddler - You enter a poorly lit room... 22:43, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
just Nintendo being lazy. theyve done it before. they still have to make new ones for all of the other Gen III and IV Pokemon anyway. -- MAGNEDETH 22:44, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Psst - take a look at the FRLG entries. They've done this before. :3 梅子 22:44, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Is there a reason

that you deleted Template:Romanizations/藤田靖弘? It was right and needed MaverickNate 17:11, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

i wasnt aware we needed a template containing one person's name. more to the point, i thought romanization template were big, and full of lots of names. whatever, ill just not bother with them anymore. -- MAGNEDETH 19:55, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi

Can I ask for your opinion about a new project?--Midnight Blue 05:42, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

sure. -- MAGNEDETH 06:03, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Do you think it would have any good of having a project about real world events? Like Pokémon Rocks America(don't think they do that anymore) Pokémon Day in Europe, anything under those categories. Or have a project about how Pokémon is in the real world.--Midnight Blue 06:06, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
eh, not really. there isnt enough to really constitute a project for it. a majority of those events and activities are added to their respectable pages by anyone/everyone, and thats that. -- MAGNEDETH 06:08, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Alright, thanx anyways!--Midnight Blue 06:09, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Spanish names

Hi, i was researching in the web and found the does of the Dawn and May's spanish names, what I wrote was true, I gain nothing by lying or making nonsensereally, if you dont believe me then look at the following links:

[1] (May's spanish name)

[2] (Dawn's spanish name)

I hope this clear your mind I found. Please let me edit and I only put back what is true, please give me these opportunities and because section of May (game) not so for like Dawn (game) I refer to the names, why May no "Names" like Dawn (game) or animated series counterpart, please let me put, I hope your answer is not nothing wrong with the site I am a big fan of Pokémon in the Spanish language, and never give any wrong information to what I admire please let me do this and more, please, thanks - unsigned comment from Ash Ketchum Peru (talkcontribs)

i dont see any information on those pages about Pokemon at all. also, are you aware we have a Spanish Wiki? -- MAGNEDETH 06:22, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
I know, but the significant of names is authentic, please let me put - unsigned comment from Ash Ketchum Peru (talkcontribs)
i cant let you put unverified information on the pages. also, please sign your comments with 4 tildes. -- MAGNEDETH 06:29, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Why? I told you not win anything lying I just put what is true is that you do not know about that investigate all things Pokémon are based on real life but not make the effort to investigate it, and if the information I will not seem related to equal PKMN is valid, do your own research with the other names in other languages and know that I'm right and you do not, please I want to do that this page is the best but let me t'no Please do not make me mad just because you're a top country going to believe you that you are superior and not, pleas

P.S.: Because there is a table of names in May (game) like Dawn (game) --Ash 06:38, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

i will look into this, or have someone more familiar with the language look into it. -- MAGNEDETH 06:40, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
I know I can help translate from Spanish into English and vice versa and if it is better PKMN, an example: Ash got a Thunderstone in Vermilion City, in my language is: "Ash consiguió un Piedratrueno en Ciudad Carmín" See ya! --Ash 06:46, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
well, to be honest, youre English grammar could use some work, and we already have some people that do English to Spanish, but given Pokemon starts off as Japanese, its mostly Japanese to English that we get the most of. CoolPika should be in touch with you, hes quite fluent in both languages. -- MAGNEDETH 06:49, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

...

Well, I have reasons for knowing this. On the pages for the Pokemon, i can't translate name etymology because they aren't proper. Besides, I'm gonna start by knowing the Pokemon names in Italian of my favorites, because I'm making a list of Italian names to put on here. I'm more comfortable starting with my favorite ones. Also, I know if you block me from here, today I got my second cockatiel, Max. My first was named Kinky. They love each other. So you can give a short block if you don't want an accurate wiki, or "pedia", but okay. Also, I wanted to make a Greek Encyclopedia Pokemonis. On Bulbagarden Forums, they said they have Pokemon there. I'm also learning greek, but fine. I could be useful if you tell me what page to edit. Also, who can get those cool sgnatures with the tildes? Not me, not you, or anyone. My brother does it, and you don't care. Oh, and I feel like doing something new, to make a true bulbapedian. I'll BLOCK. that's all I see (other than spam) on here. But, block me, it's fine. Kenji girl, time ago, threatened AND spammed me with "hahaha blah blah blah i can talk as much as i freakin want to." But if I'm the bad guy, I'll do what I tried to a while ago. I'll Go inactive. 8P - unsigned comment from Sandshrew-san (talkcontribs)

.....what? -- MAGNEDETH 01:51, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Adding etymology's to Pokémon's italian names is okay. Creating a Greek Poké encyclopedia, no. unless you know alot about Computing and all that, and the Greek..... wait..... Greeks dubs Pokémon?--ForceFire 01:55, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Sandy, are you Italian? are you Greek? and do you know what C++, Binary, and HTML are? -- MAGNEDETH 01:56, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Number one-No, I'm not Greek. I am Italian in ancestry, born in the USA. Number 2-I know what HTML is, sort of Binary, no C++. Number 3-WHAT"S UP WITH CALLING ME SANDY? It's annoying. - unsigned comment from Sandshrew-san (talkcontribs)
the same reason i call you Sandy is the same reason people call me Deth. no one wants to write out a full name every time and you know im talking about you. ANYWAY. i am Italian in ancestry, but it doesnt give me the ability to go adding Italian things to Pokemon pages. id prefer that ability was reserved to someone who is from Italy, and fluent in the language. and if youre not Greek, why the interest? you will face a wall of Greek and have no idea what to do with it. moreover, if you dont know general computer languages, then there is no way you will have the ability to create a wiki. let alone, based on one you have no knowledge of its language. not to mention you cant seem to figure out how to edit THIS wiki properly. -- MAGNEDETH 02:17, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Listen, my brother and I do have a knowledge of C++ and HTML. Our dad taught us more then a year ago. Now, don't go asuming things about people that you do not know. If my brother wants to make a Greek Pokémon Wiki then so be it! Another thing, you may be an admin, but you are not supposed to bug people for things they did not do. Greek dubs of Pokémon are very famous and the Greek names ARE notable. My brother is trying to help. Also, only message people if they are making mistakes, OK? And this "Sandy" bussiness has to stop! Address him by his full username! Got that straight, "Magie"? * --T☆MMYSAN! 01:41 PM December 5, 2009 Eastern Time
I think it would benefit some people to give others more respect. I see the pot calling the kettle black here. -- evkl (need to talk?) 18:48, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
your brother said he has no knowledge of C++, so how can you say he does? shouldnt he know better than you? also, i dont believe i was assuming anything. and hey, he can create a Greek wiki, by all means. im not saying he cant, as in, hes not allowed, im saying he probably cant, as in, he does not have the ability. as for messaging people for mistakes, i didnt message him, he messaged me? i have no idea what youre talking about. as for not calling him Sandy, fine, but instead of complaining about it, he could have simply said "i would prefer you didnt call me that." maybe you get your facts straight before making assumptions next time. -- MAGNEDETH 18:49, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

"That crap" means HTML and stuff. That's what I'm refering to. I know C++, my brother may not I don't know. But saying "he doesn't have the ability" when you don't know if he can or can't h=is an assumption. * --T☆MMYSAN! 01:53 December 5, 2009 Eastern Time
i didnt assume anything at all. i asked your brother if he knows C++, he said no. you should get your facts straight. -- MAGNEDETH 18:57, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
I have my facts straight, man. Just message me back on my talk, title the message as "RE:" and leave your messages there. I won't take it as spam. And how about this? "...because you do not have the knowledge of HTML, binary, and C++". You WERE making an assumption. How does it feel to get one-uped? * --T☆MMYSAN! 01:53 December 5, 2009 Eastern Time
given how wiki-illiterate your brother is, and to an extent, you, i think my comment was justified. -- MAGNEDETH 19:03, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
I'm an admin on most of wikia, a rollbacker on wikipedia, and my brother has two wikia barnstars. Yeah, we'ree the illiterate ones. Lets take this to the forums, a user told me to talk there. * --T☆MMYSAN! 01:53 December 5, 2009 Eastern

Re:Tight spot

Let's see ... you do not know me and I do not know you, but if you know this guy named AshKetchumPeru. For you have seen what he wrote in Spanish, have intervened and entered in shirt eleven sticks ... as well, I have my reasons to have said all that discourse. As it seems which at first glance understand the Spanish, I speak in my language, so as does Rey Mysterio does when he gets upset outraged (besides, I'm tired to keep writing in a language not very well which necessarily I have to use a translator like Google)

--Toonamimaniacolatino 01:57, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

i dont care who said what. yelling at another user is against the rules. if someone insulted you, tell an admin. now, if you want to speak in your own language, we have an entire Wiki devoted to Spanish. -- MAGNEDETH 05:22, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
I think I did not understand me, I that this wiki supposedly said to be "in Spanish" is a wiki "for Spaniards", not for people who speak Spanish language. The Spanish language is spoken not only in Spain, is spoken in Latin America and not for the fact that we come to the games in English does not mean we should ignore and take into account only a single country. --Toonamimaniacolatino 14:42, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
that....doesnt really make much sense to be honest. but i think i get the gist of what youre saying. the answer to it would be, if you dont like how they do things, make your own wiki. or, go to that wiki, and work out a deal with them to make it more comfortable for your language. i dont know the difference, so i cant really say for sure. -- MAGNEDETH 17:15, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

About another wiki site

Would you like to be part of a wiki site called "PokéPedia"? I just need your e-mail address so I can sign you up. It can't be googled—just yet—It's under the webs.com domain at pokepedia2000.webs.com, so just give me a hollder on my talk page if you want to! —RockSmashGuy 18:48, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

my e-mail is [email protected], so if you've made up your mind, send me a message! —RockSmashGuy 19:07 22 December 2009 (UTC)
first off, there is already a site by the name of "PokéPedia" and theyre actually one of our partners and affiliates in Encyclopaediae Pokémonis.
second off, soliciting your website via talk pages breaks two rules:
- no advertising
- talk page spam; ie: talk pages are for communicating information within the wiki and not for general banter.
also, no, im not interested in your site in the slightest. -- MAGNEDETH 20:03, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
You're pretty awesome—for a geek —RockSmashGuy 21:05, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
You're just an total nerd at your computer desk in your mom's basement clicking the mouse and typing on the keyboard. That's all you are. So face it. You're an total, complete SuperNerd. You might as well have a Grimer and a Muk for all I care. Thanks for nothing, geek.
P.S. All of those people up there act like you can take stuff away for insults alone—well, you'd have to break some rules to do as such. So, good luck with all of your fans around here.
P.S.S. lolol!!! Also, I like to spell things correctly—unlike some particular user(MAGNEPINK, duh)
Also, after this coversation ends, I'm going back to the Battle Frontier; so, take a hike! —RockSmashGuy 21:10 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Why do you think that I own the subject site??? —RockSmashGuy 21:34 22 December 2009 (UTC)
well, that was wholeheartedly uncalled for. -- MAGNEDETH 21:39, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Haha, what's that wiki gonna do besides copy the name of another Pokemon wiki? Copy and paste Bulbapedia? Virtual-Z 01:52, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Anime physics

So I doubt it's been cleaned enough to get the quality notice off the top of the page, but it's at least a bit better. What do we still need to do to get it to the point where it's a "good" article? R.A. Hunter Blade 16:41, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

its just a big list right now, it needs to be an article, add some pictures and the like. -- MAGNEDETH 17:17, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
Alright. Unless we can find something more to add to each example though, it'll stay more like a list than anything else. There are a few, like when Team Rocket blasts off, that we shouldn't have too much trouble at least expanding by a sentence or two, and we might even be able to turn it into its own section. R.A. Hunter Blade 19:32, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
well, me and evkl were talking a-ways back about some articles that are necessary, but may never amount to anything serious. id leave it for now, and we can deal with it later as it may fall into that category. im not saying its hopeless, but ill need to think about it. -- MAGNEDETH 19:58, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
Alright. I'll still be working on it though, since I now have the time to be on more than about 30 minutes a day. R.A. Hunter Blade 02:37, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Would you mind checking the candidates for moving on the Archives and move the Sugimori art? Please and thank you, Mew a.k.a. Immewnity was here at 21:28, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

it isnt exactly "move and done" because we will have to also re-link all of the images on BP to coincide with the moves (i will not leave a bunch of redirects). so im going to have to discuss it with others first. -- MAGNEDETH 21:34, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
I'll go do the relinking if you want. But if it must be discussed, it must. Just trying to get the naming schemes corrected.--immewnitythemew 21:36, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Talk pages

i have a question. does making talk pages for new users with {{subst:welcome}} count as an actual userspace edit? Or does it count as a normal contribution? Shiny Pika 20:42, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

If I may intervene: No. User_talk: edits are not counted towards your number of User: edits. There is no limit on User_talk: edits as long as they are discussing Bulbapedia topics (as in, not just a normal conversation) and are not spam. Virtual-Z 21:22, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
ok then. thankyou Shiny Pika 21:29, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
If I may intervene as well, I don't believe that welcoming users counts as a normal contribution, either - ie. welcoming a thousand users a month will not get you on the Top Contributors list. If that wasn't what you meant when you said "normal contribution"... well, just ignore me, then. :P 梅子 21:45, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Oh, yeah, in case you meant that, then Ume is right. Only mainspace contributions count toward your edits for the Top Contributors list. Virtual-Z 22:26, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Lucario D/P Sprite

I found an animated gif of Lucario's sprite from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Could this be used in place of the current D/P sprite, or is there some other thing I'm not aware of? Pokemon486 21:38, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

notably, we only deal with .png. we also have very strict quality control of our sprites. -- MAGNEDETH 21:41, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
How so? Pokemon486 21:43, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
sharp quality, proper animated times, and animations, and notably, transparency. -- MAGNEDETH 21:43, 4 January 2010
I have it on the archives. Could you tell me if that would work? Pokemon486 21:45, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
timing is off, it isnt the right size, and its not transparent, so, no it wont work. -- MAGNEDETH 21:47, 4 January 2010
Hmm... since we have the whole gif, couldn't it be edited? Pokemon486 21:49, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
maybe. ill have to check on that. where did you get it from? -- MAGNEDETH 21:50, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Encyclopedia Dramatica has a Pokémon section. Each link has an animated sprite above it. Pokemon486 22:13, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
yea, theyre not exactly a great source for quality Pokemon information... -- MAGNEDETH 22:14, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Information, no. Animated sprites, yes. Pokemon486 22:42, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
no, not them either. hell, they possibly took some of them from us. -- MAGNEDETH 22:43, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
The Pokémon before Gen IV use Emerald sprites. Lucario and Shaymin use sprites not on here. But anyway, could the sprite possibly be edited to meet Bulbapedia standards? Pokemon486 23:13, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
maybe possibly. TTE said he wants to re-rip a lot of Gen IV sprites completely, but overall i wouldnt exactly worry about it right now. -- MAGNEDETH 23:14, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Pictures

Hi, lately, I've been noticing that the pictures on here have been looking strange. The outline is kinda messed up. Is this a bug or something? Littlmiget123 21:24, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

where? -- MAGNEDETH 21:25, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
everywhere? Idk, maybe its just my computer, but ever since I got a message on top of my screen yesterday (the one that says something about line 2012) on this website, the pictures have been strange. Like for example, I clicked on Pikachu and Meowth, and both of their outlines are screwed up? Littlmiget123 21:36, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
oh, THOSE pictures. its because the main series Pokemon have been changed to hi-resolution, and when they are shrunk into the infoboxes, the images are so sharp, it sort of messes with the sharp black outline. its something thats being looked into. -- MAGNEDETH 21:39, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
okay, does the same thing apply to the picture on... this article as well? Littlmiget123 21:47, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
no. thats possibly a problem on your end. -- MAGNEDETH 21:48, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
okay, I'll scan my computer. Thank you for answering my questions. Littlmiget123 21:52, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
If you're having problems with the pictures, try refreshing the page after clicking the picture. That might help. R.A. Hunter Blade 22:06, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

I dunno, I already tried that. Its only when they're in the small box things. If I click on the pictures, they look fine. Its probably my computer, I'm scanning it right now with my anti-virus software to be sure. Littlmiget123 22:12, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

really doesnt sound like a virus issue. what OS and browser are you using? -- MAGNEDETH 22:14, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
I have a Dell computer, and I'm using internet explorer. Littlmiget123 22:21, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
well, OS is not your computer. im talking version of Windows. also, you should probably get FireFox. not only does it work better than IE, but pedia will look a million times better too. -- MAGNEDETH 22:25, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Oh, sorry. I don't know a whole lot about computers, just the basics. I'm not sure about the version of windows, I'll have to get back to you about that. I'm sure its my internet explorer, it's running slower than it usually does. The company goes out of whack when there is a snowstorm, and we just got a couple inches of it, so that might be it. I'll ttyl if it continues to happen. Littlmiget123 22:29, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
hmmm. snow. i wish we would get some snow...in the meantime, grab Firefox, get some rest, and message me in the morning. -- MAGNEDETH 22:33, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Ik this is a little off topic, but how to you NOT have snow? i live in PA also and there's about 6-8 inches. u must live on the East side of PA (around philly).Shiny Pika 22:58, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
i am on the East side, but not near Philly. yea, weve got about 3in on the ground, but i was hoping for something more along the lines of a foot or so. i do like the cold and i do like the snow. but i digress.... -- MAGNEDETH 23:00, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm in NH, and we got pounded. Last year, we got over 2 feet of snow. K, that's all I have to say. MAG, I'll message u 2morrow and tell u if the pictures are still strange on my side. Littlmiget123 23:31, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Hmm... if you've had problems before because of the snow, then that's probably the main problem. As for IE vs FireFox, I don't think it really matters what you use unless you want to see everything with rounded corners. IE works just fine with it, unless your connection has a problem, which goes back to the snow. Also check your router, unless you have dial-up. And what company system are you using? R.A. Hunter Blade 04:05, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Well IE also fails to support the CSS2 standards that Firefox, Opera, and Safari all support, so there is a benefit to upgrading to any one of those (aside from the rounded corners and security benefits). -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 06:33, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Do not use google chrome. It's the worst. everything is messed up with it. - Vhayes1992 16:59, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Well, I've been on for about five minutes, and although the pictures for me still arent 100% better, it has definetly improved from what it was last night. My OS is Windows XP, I found out. It is most likely the snow that caused the problems, although what confuses me is that it was only on this website that the pictures were messed up on? O well. Littlmiget123 18:56, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
i dont think it was the snow to be honest. i dont see how that would effect anything. im still thinking its IE's fault. let me see what it looks like in my IE...no, it looks fine to me. can you take a screenshot? -- MAGNEDETH 19:45, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
uh, could you please tell me how to do that. Again, I'm not that into computers, so i don't know alot. And how would I send it to you if I did? Littlmiget123 20:14, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
provided youre using a normal computer, to the right of your Back Space key is a space, and then a key that says Print Screen. hit that key, and whatever is on your monitor will be copied. go into paint, right click, choose Paste and theres your screen. save the image, preferably as a png and then load it onto an image hosting site like Photobucket or img shack (or whatever) and then link it here. -- MAGNEDETH 20:20, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
oh, okay. That's how I put images on bulbapedia. I'll try it. Okay, here is the link: http://s822.photobucket.com/albums/zz145/littlmiget123/?action=view&current=Messedupimage.jpgThe words are messed up for me as well, how about yours? Littlmiget123 21:14, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Hmm... that's kinda funny, because I was just on that page last night. But no, I'm not getting problems with them either. And it seems that only the larger pictures are being affected, right? Because the sprites look fine. But it isn't just you right now, because Taromon777 asked about the pictures on the Main Page about it a few hours before you asked here. R.A. Hunter Blade 21:23, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, sorta. The sprites are just fine, and so it the pictures at the beginning of the Pokemon pages (well, certain ones, Milotic is messed up), and only a handful of the anime pics are coming out distorted and stuff. Not having alot of knowledge about computers, I have no idea what's going on. On the photobucket, the words are messed up, and I can't even read them. Littlmiget123 21:28, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

weve been discussing the issue, i dont have an answer for you right now though. -- MAGNEDETH 21:36, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
sure, but when you do, can you tell me? Thanks for cooperating with my lack of computer knowledge. Littlmiget123 21:38, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm just messaging you to let you know that the pictures have cleared up, and now the are fine. No problems at all! Littlmiget123 05:08, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

yea, we recognized the problem a few days ago. i was going to tell you when i got word it was fixed, but i guess they already fixed it! -- MAGNEDETH 05:58, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

No, that's fine. That revert was done in a different era. If it was up to me, both those articles won't exist anyway. --electAbuzzzz 10:42, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

The Project templates

How come the phrasing is different for different projects? You've got "Manga Bulbapedia Project" instead of "Project Manga", and there doesn't seem to be any sort of reason for some being one way and others being the other. Is it meant to be uneven like that? --Oz (The Wizard at Work!) 05:54, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

they should all be "This user is a member of 'Project X.'" - except for custom sprite, because that wouldnt make sense. while i was reverting, i fixed them all to this standard. -- MAGNEDETH 05:55, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
There were a few that Oz didn't change. I've now updated those ones. "This user is a member of 'Project X.'" is better, grammatically, and uses the actual name of the project in the box. —darklordtrom 06:11, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Was the sentencing like that before? or did someone just decide to change it? cause I could've swore that the sentence was the latter not the former.--ForceFire 06:15, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
most were like that, but Oz changed them to something different. we changed them back. looks like Trom is doing the rest. -- MAGNEDETH 06:17, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon disambigs

How come you're changing a number of Pokémon disambig pages back to redirects, when most of them do lead to notable pages? How is Cerulean gym's Dewgong not notable enough? I see nothing on that page about deleting it. And Max's Ralts is notable enough. Until Max officially catches it, it still falls under the CotD rule in the anime notability policy. Missingno. Master wants YOU! Join the Order of the Glitch! (my talk page) 19:47, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

a lot of them im removing because they disambig to a page that doesnt even have the same name. Aggron =/= Rono. if someone is looking for Rono, they should be smart enough to search for Rono. the Ralts? well when Max catches the Ralts we will reinstate the disambig, but for now, the article is probably getting removed because its technically false. he doesnt own it, and he never did. the Seel, ill let it stay. -- MAGNEDETH 19:52, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon Snap

Shiningpikablu never got back to me, so I'd like to ask another staff member. Currently, info on Pokemon in Pokemon Snap is limited to mentioning the course they appear on. I was wondering if I could expand on this (not sure exactly how it would want to be formatted) about the circumstances to make them appear, and what type of pictures could be taken. For example:

"a Pikachu appears early in the Beach course, and the player can use food to lure it to a nearby surfboard for a "Surfing Pikachu" bonus on their picture. Later in the stage, if the player flushes the first Scyther out of the tall grass, two more Pikachu appear on tree stumps and will perform Thundershock is the player uses the Poke Flute."
"Charizard appears near the very end of the Volcano course. To the left of the exit is a Charmeleon circling a pool of lava. If the player uses food or a Pester Ball to knock it into the lava, a Charizard will emerge. Hitting it again will cause it to attack with Flamethrower."

Too much detail/info, or would this be something I could do? For all Pokemon except Pikachu, it would just be a short blurb like Charizard, two or three sentences. Pikachu would be the exception because in literally every course it appears it has some sort of special pose the player can get. Drake Clawfang 04:14, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

are you referring to individual species pages? -- MAGNEDETH 04:17, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, on the pages for the individual Pokemon, though I could do it directly on the Snap page if that'd be preferable. Drake Clawfang 04:18, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
i dont think its necessary on the individual Pokemon pages. i think its notable somewhere, but id have to see where all that info is stored. -- MAGNEDETH 04:27, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
turns out the stuff you are talking about can already be found on the respective Snap location pages, like Pokémon Island Volcano. -- MAGNEDETH 04:33, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
What do you mean?
EDIT - ah, nvm then. Thanks. Drake Clawfang 04:34, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Epic fail...

I see that you blocked Banema from creating because of "Speculation crackdown". But that was just Merrick's epic fail. The character is named Panema, in fact. With a "p". So, I guess there's no point in blocking "Banema". I think there's no point in blocking "Panema", either. But some Bulbapedia policies exist for the sheer sake of existing... --Maxim 16:59, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

whatever. i dont even remember doing that. whos Merrick? whos Banema? whos Panema? as for policies existing because they exist, well, generally if something exists, it....exists... -- MAGNEDETH 05:23, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Joe Merrick = Serebii. And Panema is a recently revealed character from upcoming Ranger 3. Merrick reported her name wrong as "Banema". It's not the first time that he misreads Kana. When DP were first released, we had poorly romanized names of Gen IV Pokemon floating EVERYWHERE on the net because of him (i.e. Neorantu, Kaburiasu, Kuruseria, etc.). Nevertheless, there's no reason to keep "Banema" protected from creation because such thing doesn't exist. --Maxim 17:06, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Well considering there are idiots who think that Serebii can do no wrong, I don't think it's out of the question to imagine that some idiot somewhere will try creating a "Banema" page with content along the lines of "banema is a gurl in the ranger 3 traks of lite gaem her name is banema cuz serebi said so." (Somewhat exaggerated... but not by much.) So I vote to keep it protected. 梅子 17:52, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Umeko would know more about this than i would. someone probably said somewhere "hey, Banema is a possible name for the new game, it should be protected" and i said "ok" and i did. i dont keep tabs on most side games (particularly Ranger) and i never visit Serebii's site, so i know i didnt get it from there. -- MAGNEDETH 20:19, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Waaaait a minute... are you seriously going to tell me that when you look at 96897094.jpg ← that you can CLEARLY, 100%, make out that it is a ゜ over a ゛ in that image...? He took a 50-50 on a quick decision that can be changed later with the advice he was given about that image (that's right, he had no say in whether it was a P or B... he was told) and it ended up being wrong... something that can easily be changed later. (It was Banema on Bulbanews as well until I had it changed to Panema just fyi...) The original scan was too blurry to make a 100% accurate determination and because of that both Panema and Banema justly have reason to be protected for "speculation crackdown"... The official website didn't update with the information clarifying it until quite a while after... (Yaminokame 20:46, 22 February 2010 (UTC))
hmm, if it was on BN, thats probably where i saw it. even so Maxim, Yaminokame is right, theres no reason to go head over heels over a simple protection. -- MAGNEDETH 20:50, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

My Privilegies

Sorry , but my privilegie for edit my user page was taken since October, you could give me back?, please User:FranztrovaoFebruary 23

youve made 5 mainspace edits since October, and all of them were reverted, effectively giving you zero edits, so no, you cannot have your privileges back at this time. also, you really need to work on your grammar. -- MAGNEDETH 19:25, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

But, why my edits is reverteds? - unsigned comment from Franztrovao (talkcontribs)

Probably because they were deemed unnotable or not up to standard. Also please sign your comments. 梅子 22:11, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
Sorry IF MY GRAMMAR IS NOT GOOD, BUT I DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH AND I AM 14 YEAS OLD. - unsigned comment from Franztrovao (talkcontribs)
Ah, I see. Actually you seem to speak the language pretty well; yeah, you make some errors here and there, but they're errors that I wouldn't be surprised to see from some 14-year-olds who speak English as their native language.
Anyway, I actually took a look back at the edits you made, and the reason they were reverted wasn't because they were unnotable or not up to standard, but because our policy is to wait until an episode airs to add a Pokemon that appears to its trainer's page. You were trying to add Pokemon to Flint and Volkner's anime sections before the episode aired, and that's why you were reverted.
Lastly, I ask you again to please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), so that we can tell who wrote the comment when. :) 梅子 22:38, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

A certain vandal

This user has made 4 edits over the space of 6 months, all of them being vandalism. Just letting you know. --Hmdwgf 07:06, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

theyre definitely poor edits, but dont really scream "vandal", at least, not yet anyway. def keep an eye on her, and if she makes another stupid edit, inform someone, and we could block her, but its not like shes replacing pages with "LOL COCKS" or anything. -- MAGNEDETH 07:10, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Well... she did write how May kept Manaphy in the ninth movie and then wrote an entire psycho-babble paragraph about that Manaphy's characteristics. It gave me reason to believe it was vandalism because she has made 4 edits over the course of 6 months, all of them the aforementioned details. --Hmdwgf 07:21, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
hard to say if its Vandalism or someone treating our site like Pokemon wikia (where fanwankery is allowed in the mainspace) so while its def wrong, id like to hold-off for right now. -- MAGNEDETH 07:24, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Am I now good enough? ( to unblock my userpage ) Branfili Talk My edits 05:50, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

You have made a grand total of five edits since you last asked, and quite honestly it is getting really annoying seeing you ask about it every few days (and this isn't even my talkpage!). Just calm down, work on the mainspace, and you'll get your privileges back in due time. 梅子 05:59, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Userspace privelages

I have edited the mainspace as often as I could. I want them back, not to edit it often, but to see the templates other users put on their pages so I can edit the mainspace better. I will continue to edit the Mainspace as often as I can. -DialgaMaster105 *Roar Of Time!!!* 18:16, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

youve only made 4 edits (and 4 to one page which ive condensed into 1), three of which were reverted, so youve got 1 edit. on that basis, no you cant have your privis back. but youre in luck, even in abuse, you can view the page source code giving you all the details, but in reality, there arent any useful templates in the userspace that you can use in the mainspace, but more to the point, we have a giant list of templates for your viewing and educational pleasure. -- MAGNEDETH 19:49, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

People often use the My Team thingy template on it. But I have it already.--DialgaMaster105 *Roar Of Time!!!* 23:33, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Re

Hey, that's really unfair. I just edited it twice today, but that were my only userspace edits in the recent weeks! So that was a big deal I guess. I couldn't annoy anyone because nobody could see my userspace edits because there was a hugh distance between these two and the last ones. Sometimes you're far to strict. Actually I don't mind anymore but I'm annoyed by now. By the way I edit other pages as well. -.- --×Impoleon xy× 20:45, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

I looked at my contributions again. There were 6 edits in Feb. and March all together. In between always one a week. The weeks before I just edited other pages. Isn't it 50:50? I mean I don't need my priviledges by now, it's just the principle annoying me. If I had edited my userspace one week before today, it wouldn't anger someone I guess. It just doesn't mind! --×Impoleon xy× 20:53, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
no, its more like 20 mainspace for one userspace. -- MAGNEDETH 21:35, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

THEJIZZLER guy

Hey Mag, I want to say something. First, I noticed that JIZZELER twins later after I welcomed him and I was already trying to contact an active check user who can delete it. Second, is it really fair to call someone IDIOT? I know you are an EB member + an admin but I think the rules are for everyone. Isn't it a bit rude? --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 02:18, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

how did you not see it right away? what made you think that someone named that would be allowed? you should have used common sense. with the servers acting to terrible, its really annoying when someone makes a stupid, easily avoidable error that likewise takes 5 times as long to fix than usual. sorry for calling you an idiot, but be smart next time. -- MAGNEDETH 02:26, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
The reason behind this was that a new user is registering after every 2 minutes (Gigantic high traffic), so there were almost more than 15 users unwelcomed. So, I was out of mind and just welcoming them floodly at a time. I'll take care of this thing in the future and will not welcome any TWIN member. --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 02:42, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
ive made my fare share of flood edits, but youre still telling me you saw "jizzler" as an acceptable username. while you may not have seen it was blocked (it was clearly in the RC) it was a lapse of judgment on your part. just pay more attention next time. -- MAGNEDETH 03:04, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
I just checked JIZZLER's meaning in the dictionary and now I get it why you are saying that JIZZLER is unacceptable name. I am not a native English speaking person, so I didn't knew the meaning of JIZZLER. Btw I am not an admin/EB member/checkuser or anything like that. So, I can't delete him or block him, the only thing that I can do is to bring my complain to the admins. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 03:12, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
ok, i didnt know you werent a native speaker (never really visited your page) so i guess its understandable that you wouldnt get it. sorry. but you dont have to be an admin to know if someone is blocked. it shows up in the RC. -- MAGNEDETH 03:24, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

You know...

I had a hunch that you'd say something along those lines but "We're not Wikipedia" isn't really a reason. It's all about the convenience. And I find it inconvenient when people answer on their own pages when talking with me. Also, I've never seen anyone complaining about the way I make conversations on the pedia. You're the first one. I simply find the other kind of answering very inconvenient and n00bish. Wikipedia and many other Wikis are really right on its policy about that. It allows user to keep track of his discussions. The fact that the discussion is split at two halves isn't a problem, IMO. It's pretty logical that the other part is on the other user's talkpage. --Maxim 11:11, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

but, we arent Wikipedia. we have no reason to follow any of their rules. moreover, you ignored the fact that, as i said, commenting on the same user's page is no different than using any ordinary talk page, so there is hardly any reason to complain about it when its something people do already. -- MAGNEDETH 20:28, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
Oh. And this is why it sucks. I reminded myself about this talk two days after it. Such comparative reason like "it's no different than using any ordinary talk page" is completely moot. Personal discussions are different and it's important to get well-notified. Especially if someone holds more than one discussion at once. Excusing yourself with "if there's A, then why not B" is idiotic. And so is "we have no reason to follow Wikipedia's rules". This rule is simply USEFUL. That should be our reason. --Maxim 13:43, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Not to step in where I'm not wanted or anything, but surely if the conversation was of any importance to you, then you'd keep an eye on the talkpage in question, or even watch the page?
Though my presence here now brings up a question. Were Bulbapedia to go by the system you insist is superior, how the hell would conversations between 3+ people be split up?
I've only been at Bulba for six months, but I get the impression that this standard has been in place for ages - surely for good reason. 梅子 14:23, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
First, I don't say that Wikipedia is superior in any way. They're just right in this case, in my opinion. So are many other Wikis. Also, do we have any standard on talkpaging to begin with? I think we didn't have any official policy on this. Some people do it in my way, some people do it the other way. I see the way I use as more convenient, as the user gets notified and it's better to keep track of all the discussions. Bulbapedia isn't the focus of my life. I can't remember everything. I don't see how my system is inferior in any way. All that we should care about is the communicativity, not the nonexistant need of having the entire conversation on one page. Sure, it's easier for other people to view the discussion if everything is on one page. But who cares? Messages aren't for viewing them, they're the tool for communication. And anything that limits communicativity should be dismissed. Viewing isn't any kind of priority here. And if the discussion is open for more than two people to talk, it should be held on the page that pertains to it, not anyone's personal talkpage. --Maxim 20:57, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Bulbapedia:Talk page is the Talk Page Policy. It covers things nicely. Gywall Talk 21:52, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Your userpage template

My apologies if this is considered off-topic. I was just curious as to how you gotten your user page to have that specific kind of template, with the userboxes being in its own section and able to be hidden, the border and stuff. It's quite practical I must say. Now I'm sure you can already guess where this is leading to. Normally I'd try my hand on creating my own template, but knowing how the process of most template creation goes, I'm pretty sure Bulbapedia wouldn't allow that if I were to make my own. So I'm just wondering if there was by chance a sample of your userpage template anywhere. An' I suppose that's it... Thanks, sorry if this is an inconvenience, I'm pretty sure it is. Mudkipchan 21:54, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

it isnt a template, its just raw code. -- MAGNEDETH 21:57, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Getting Userspace Back

Since my ban I have edited Annie, Oakley, Jack Walker, The Phantom, added many new Pictures on the Archives, and greatly edited Molly Hale's Pokemon. Can I get my userspace privelages back? If not how much more work do i need to do DoTheWave 01:43, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Reasons For Deleting

So I'd like you to explain to me your reasoning. And I'm prepared to argue my case. And it's best to know you actually viewed the site and not simply just never hearing. Xplicitable 19:47, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

go for it, argue. i asked a ton of people and no one had heard of it. -- MAGNEDETH 18:51, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

You've obviously asked the wrong people. 1. The creator translated the HG Pokesav. Pretty sure that's something. 2. If you actually looked into it I'm sure you would see. 3. I know loads of people who've never heard of PokeCommunity. Does that make it not worthy? 4. Your grammar is terrible in that sentence. Just like to point that out.

Xplicitable 19:56, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

those are the worst reasons for defending ones case ive ever seen. -- MAGNEDETH 18:56, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm not exactly one for spending hours thinking of my reasons. And anyway, being the first fansite with a GTS we surely deserve to be on there no matter what. I don't see Serebii having a GTS. And there are pages for sites that no one has a clue exist. Your example for a good layout, Pokemopolis, not a single person I asked out of about 50 knew it existed. And believe me, many of these are veterans in sites and they know their fair share like Serebii and PokeCommunity, but surely 50 people would recognize a site you use as your example. Your reasoning is totally unfair because you just assume that it's unheard and your ton of people is probably 5.

Xplicitable 20:06, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

im not saying you have to think for hours, but its almost like you didnt even try. look, im not saying your site is crappy or doesnt have some good info, but we have, in recent years, been very strict on what we allow for fansites. i agree, weve got pages for sites that we probably shouldnt, and i think this exchange will bring this issue back into the light as most of the pages have existed for years, before a lot of current editors were even members of the site. however, in order for a fansite to be created, we look for three things; well known, lots of info, and for the page to be written and created by someone who is not affiliated with the site. basically, we dont like it when people just up and create website pages without asking (and btw, whoever created the page didnt even put the 'é' in the name), so what i will do here is run it through the ranks, and see what the community thinks. im not outright saying "NO" as much as i am saying "hold on a minute". also, my grammar has nothing to do with defending your site, nor do i care about my grammar in an informal argument (especially when it wasnt that bad in the first place). and also, dont put a line break after your signature, we dont allow that. -- MAGNEDETH 19:18, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your time. The reasoning for not putting in the é is because it screws the URL up.Xplicitable 20:24, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

well, page name isnt related to URL, but thats an issue for later. -- MAGNEDETH 19:32, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

If you could be so kind it would be better to talk to the head admin for his input on this. I'm sure he will give better reasons than I do. Xplicitable 20:35, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

well as i said, we want to keep things out of the hands of people affiliated with the site. it tends to lead to bias, no offense to him. -- MAGNEDETH 19:41, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

I still recommend you visit http://www.pokestation.net/irc/ just to get some answers. And because I'm English does that mean I can't be a Historian and write about wars because I might be a little biased? I'm pretty sure just because I go to this site means I can write a non biased article. Anyway it's hardly like anyone from Serebii had no involvement in theirs. Xplicitable 20:49, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

im not sure Pokemon fansites are best compared to world wars, but in general, we try to get the most neutral opinion possible. though, the only thing Serebii contributed to his site articles was "im awesome" and the like, so you can see what i mean. -- MAGNEDETH 19:52, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

My point is that anyone could have edited and it well could have been someone from Serebii. Anyway your wanted on that chat. I recommend you go because your going to get one good reasoning. Your expected so don't let us down please. Xplicitable 20:56, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

What's the latest on the outcome of this article? Because you an your fellow admins are taking a long time. Xplicitable 21:19, 02 May 2010 (UTC)
