Welcome to Bulbapedia, Impoleon xy!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Impoleon xy/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here!PokeManiac102 14:20, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

User Templates

Use the templates by NOT copying directly from the link, but rather type in something like this: {{User Birthday}}. That would empty out unnecessary text. Thanks! Any questions, talk to me. ht14 20:47, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

And again, please do not copy template code from the pages such as what you did with Template:User Obama. Please link to the template as {{User Obama}} rather than copying the code. This leads to your user page being categorised as a user tag, which it is not. Gywall(Talk) 21:31, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Talk Page Comments

Please don't erase talk page comments for no reason. Trust me, you do NOT want to end up like Big Johnno, who got into an edit war with a sysop over comments the former had erased and was trying to keep erased. That user ended up blocked and subsequently had every erased comment restored. --- Kogoro | Talk to me | 16:56, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Slow down on editing the User: namespace. There are only three userspace edits allowed per day, and you have gone over the limit. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making multiple small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page? Thank you. --- Kogoro | Talk to me - 16:47, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

This is your second warning. Please refrain from editing the User: namespace too rapidly, or you will lose privileges. --The Dark Fiddler - Nos hablamos? 15:30, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Signature Policy

According to the signature policy, signature templates are not allowed. If you want a customizable signature, you're going to have to hard-code it into your preferences. --Shiningpikablu252 14:34, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot today. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to try and minimize the number of Userspace edits they make in a short period of time. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Just wait until tomorrow, ok? Thanks! --FF(edits-talk) 13:55, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Team Predictions

Unfortunately these still come under userspace edits. While there is now no limit, please keep them to a minimum by utilizing the Preview button. — THE TROM — 10:38, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Clearing stubs

Thanks for helping check the anime episode articles and taking out stubs for those that are no longer one. rockersk08 19:20, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

No problem. x] --Impoleon xy 15:24, 26 February 2009 (UTC)15:18, 26 February 2009 (UTC) 22:29, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

You may be interested to know that when posting on talk pages, a colon at the start of the comment (:) indents everything you say. More colons mean more indent. :D Then, you don't have to put the extra line gap in. — THE TROM — 21:35, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, I didn`t know. --Impoleon xy 15:24, 26 February 2009 (UTC) 22:37, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
And generally, we add a colon for every new comment. So if you respond to this, use three. Then the next person uses four, etc. It's all here. All the links in that welcome thing are useful :D — THE TROM — 22:23, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

You know....

You don't have to make edits on small cameos on different Pokémon like you did with Masquerain, It can be mentioned, but it's really unnecessary.--FF(editstalk) 10:46, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Whoa! This month you have already made 30 userspace edits compared to 7 mainspace edits, 9 of those userspace edits are from today. Please, take a rest on the userspace for a while, and do some more work on the mainspace. Thanks, - Kogoro | Talk to me - 19:24, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Okay, you said you would offset those userspace edits, and you're not. Enough is enough bud, no more userspace for you for a while. When you finally offset all of those userspace edits, I'll remove you from the usergroup. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 19:09, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Heres the deal

during July, you were in abuse for too many edits to the userspace. during that time, you made a decent mount of contributions, and you were given back your privileges. however, here in August, youve pretty much put yourself right back to where you were before. you are still making more userspace edits than mainspace edits. so consider this an ultimatum, pick-up on the mainspace edits, and ease up on the userspace edits, or you might find yourself in abuse again. -- MAGNEDETH 20:47, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

heres the deal, youve been under the radar for many months, and yet, you still have been constantly abusing the userspace, so this time, youre going to stay in abuse for much longer. -- MAGNEDETH 20:32, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Well, I guess NOW I'm allowed to edit my userspace again. I just want to hide this episode stuff, because it isn't useful to change this consequently. --×Impoleon xy× 12:07, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Userspace limit

Due to the fact that you edited your page twice today, which is in violation of the current userspace policy which limits users to one edit per day, your userpage has been protected for one day. This limit is displayed at the top of every page on Bulbapedia, as well as on the userspace policy. Please ensure not to violate this limit again. --SnorlaxMonster 12:35, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Due to continued violations of the userspace policy, including the violation of the current restrictions mere hours after your privileges were restored, it's been decided that your userspace privileges will be revoked indefinitely. If at any time your privileges are returned to you, please keep an eye on & follow the limits set in the the userspace policy and the notice up at the top of every page. If you have any questions, or complaints, feel free to contact myself, Deputy Editor-in-Chief: The dark lord trombonator, or the Editor-in-Chief: MAGNEDETH.
