I hope you don't mind that I jumped in on the images discussion for My Pokémon Ranch in your absence. Do you have time to get those two newest ones (see here) done before becoming unavailable again tomorrow, or should I continue to consult Pattyman regarding them? CycloneGU (talk) 17:18, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

I've uploaded them to the Archives. --Abcboy (talk) 17:36, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Shuffle Pages?

I know you're sporadic until the 13th (I see you're still around at least once a day, hence my messaging you now LOL), but I need to know what's going on with this. I'm working through my sidegames layout additions. At present, I've finished all Rumble U entries and all Battle Trozei entries in my layout, and as I type am through Kanto in the Rumble World set, all that's left is the Shuffle entries, then I can start adding them to pages.

That's where this question comes in. Are we definitely going ahead with the project to get all pages set up for separate areas? Or is that shelved for the time being? That would be the difference between, for instance, this Galarie Rouge link or this Galarie Rouge link (which would be attached to each of the Pokémon in the area, just like Stage 1, Stage 6, etc. in Battle Trozei links).

I can also create the other pages in your userspace for you if you'd like, to save you the trouble (or if it's approved, you can move the template in and I can just create the rest in mainspace, I just need to know where the project stands). Creating the pages for each area shouldn't be too much trouble. I still haven't gotten around to the area images yet, but I'm working through my projects and should be getting to that. I might want to do that before putting the Shuffle entries in my layouts as I need to update my list, anyway (weekly releases would add to our weekly edits LOL). The main reason I want a status update is because I would hate to get them all in on the current page...and then we have to turn around and edit 300 or so pages again with new links after the page are moved into place (meaning we can't drop them from the main Shuffle page until the editing is complete or we have broken anchor links). CycloneGU (talk) 04:06, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

UPDATES:
  • I put a template in your userspace and put it on the Puerto Blanco page.
  • I am done (locally) all sidegames template adds except for Shuffle.
  • I'm trimming those without entries on Monday after any new Pokémon appear then.
So I'm looking to have the link bit figured out by Monday (possibly Tuesday) so I can finalize those layouts and start adding them this week. CycloneGU (talk) 17:27, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
Actual proper splitting requires EB approval, which as far as I know hasn't yet been obtained. I emailed Kogoro about the page split a few days ago, so hopefully when the EB convenes next we will have an answer. --Abcboy (talk) 06:41, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
I thought that might be the case. I can work on the other pages in the meantime; that is, unless you already have them all saved in Notepad or something. That way, if approved, they're ready to go and can quickly be put into place. I have screenshots of everything through the original 150 stage locations, too; that's 11 screens to get uploaded if the split is approved. (I did not take the last two yet as I have not S ranked one of the five stages in view from 151-155 and 181-185.) CycloneGU (talk) 12:20, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
You can go ahead and create them. I have colors, infoboxes, and in other languages sections ready on User:Abcboy/Puerto Blanco. --Abcboy (talk) 12:38, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I saw those. That's what I was going to create them partially for, to help clean up that footer. Got a job interview today, so I'll look at it when I get home and upload the first of the images (no point uploading the others unless it's approved as there's no other place to put them, and they're not all needed in the main article, I think). CycloneGU (talk) 12:39, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent)

Noticed the old template is now retired, so I'll get those working pages started for the proposed stage split pages in Shuffle. Do you want me to create them in your userspace? Or shall we move the template I added and the existing page over to my userspace so everything stays together (and so I'm not creating all the pages in yours, though that won't matter if they become official anyway as the history updates after the move)? Also, should I create pages for events, or leave that alone as a single page for now? We can always have the events in the template link to a single page, as well, so the events can still be labeled. CycloneGU (talk) 20:28, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

It doesn't matter much to me where you create them, though I will say the history's going to be a jumbled mess either way. I don't think it would be a bad idea to create a page for Expert Stages and Special Stages (perhaps with a disambiguating (Shuffle) if necessary), but a page for each event would probably be overkill. --Abcboy (talk) 20:34, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Someone else said the same about separate event pages, and I see the point as well. I still think linking in the template is a good idea for the special stages (expert stages meanwhile only have one home and one designation). As for Expert Stages and Special Stages...well, changing back to square brackets (I tested them) shows they don't exist. The question on that is whether that's the name to use, or whether we should disambiguate them immediately. I'll use the basic names for now in userspace. Going to upload the first image for that page at some point, and maybe the second; will hold off on the rest. Also with the old template now retired, I can start going through the articles at my leisure to add all the missing game data for the four games, so I'm going to create two versions of the additions; one will link to the Shuffle page directly while the other will link to the individual pages. It's actually a very easy fix for all stages; I would just chop off both the Shuffle page and the anchor, leaving the stage name (which is there anyway) by itself, so find/replace will give me the second version in about 15 searches (with special stages having a link to that page and anchors still in place). So I'll create the current version first for that reason. CycloneGU (talk) 20:44, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Also, the reason for the idea of articles for special events comes from the fact that some areas have 10, some as many as 30 stages, and some events already have themselves 10 (Safari) or 20 (Daily Pokémon) stages in them. There's no difference between those. It's smaller events that might not need their own pages. CycloneGU (talk) 20:47, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Three pages are created. Tried to follow your table colour format. Can you give them a check? I might be guessing wrong. CycloneGU (talk) 22:52, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
All that was off was that the header and footer cells should be the secondary color. (the other color used in the infobox) --Abcboy (talk) 23:16, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Hmm. How are the colours for each determined? Obviously I see the cloours already in place in the other language tables. Also have to figure out what Expert will use, and Special, for the tables; we don't really have a language table in those ones unless we give the language translations for every event name at the bottom, but then it's overkill. CycloneGU (talk) 23:20, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
The colors are supposed to be based off of the primary color of the label thing with the name. The secondary is the color the location is named after. Puerto Blanco, for example, has an orange label and is named after the color white. Otherwise, I'd just use the colors that the stage generally features. --Abcboy (talk) 23:39, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent)

Ah. I am used to seeing one colour primarily featured in each table, not two. I would suggest just matching the one colour, but if we want to use the thematic colour in there as well, this may work. Some look better than others. Never even thought about the second word in the titles. LOL CycloneGU (talk) 23:54, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Next four are done if you want to check and add anything to them. CycloneGU (talk) 00:32, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
All thirteen areas completed! That leaves Expert stages and Special stages. How do you want to colour these? I think the same template can be used, but there is no "Next" or "Previous" needed. I also left a blank "Next" entry on Pedra Valley until we know for sure there's no next area.
I'm going to create "Great Challenge" and "Pokémon Safari"" pages; both are already at least the size of each of the first three areas, with the former being larger than every main area. I am also thinking, thanks to the amount of prose involved, that the "Competitive Stage" section might also merit a page. The rest can stay on a generic page for special stages. All types of special stages (including those I named) will be listed on the generic page, but the sections for the larger ones can link to the separate pages instead of having the information on that page. The template can be designed to show all types of special stages (as it is now) but can have anchored links on sections that don't merit pages of their own. CycloneGU (talk) 01:55, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
Expert Stages and Special Stages should use a colorscheme based off of the name-bar thing (so cyan and magenta) and some other color from the stage design (probably green or black and violet or yellow). Hopefully a workable colorscheme can come out of that. --Abcboy (talk) 02:09, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
Expert seems to be a light blue. The result screen shows a purple-shaded curtain (lighter and darker), and the stage scenery has some green elements in it. Here's a view of Lucario's stage. You can also see the map area here (that guy bought Hearts, clearly).
Special area looks like this. The text area background is purple. Kind of halfway between a dark and a light purple. Here's the special stage version of Meowth if it helps. CycloneGU (talk) 02:18, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Shiny Descriptions

Earlier today, someone started editing in copies of paragraphs in the Biology section of several articles. I reverted them as they were mostly repetitive, but is there some reason why Shiny differences are not noted in Biology already? I think that's a good place for them, but want to figure that out before telling that user it's something that can be done a certain way. CycloneGU (talk) 23:05, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

I think it's something to the effect of "it's just a pallete swap" and a "it's in the sprite box". Those I would imagine are reasons that staff would have removed it. --Abcboy (talk) 23:22, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Shuffle Pages Part 2

Other section was getting too big.

I changed my mind on the Safari getting a page. We may need to include a note on it for those seeking the Safari Zone so there is no confusion of the two (and maybe vice versa as well).

With those two out of the way, either of us can continue on Special Stages again. The order of everything still to be added should match the current Special Stages, meaning - from the current copy - what to add now is:

  • Meowth's Coin Mania
  • The Daily Pokémon (at most a blurb, referencing the separate page)
  • Pokémon Safari (same as the prior section)
  • One chance a day! (two stages)
  • Tons of Exp. Points (Victini)
  • Escalation Battle (Giratina)
  • An Evolving Challenge! (for now, a separate page is unneeded, but once all nine are out it might be close enough; Johto might get this, too!)
  • Competitive Stage (this will get a separate page, I think, so a short blurb again is generally all we need)

At that point, I believe the pages project (sans pictures, which I have many of) is finished for EB approval! The section could be done later this evening if I feel like it (or if you want to finish it, your call), or I'll finish it tomorrow. CycloneGU (talk) 02:00, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Competitive Stage is created. You may want to put a better description on the bonus rewards; I don't think I made it clear that the numbers represent prize thresholds. I created the separate table because the original entry broke that row of the table, causing the cells to not exist (availability instead moved all the way over under North America); the new table is a better setup, anyway. CycloneGU (talk) 18:21, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
Project is done. Template is set up to work with userspaced versions to show functionality and that everything is covered. All that's left are images, which can be done later, especially in cases where we, well, don't have any (certain special stages which we need to see again to get a picture for...unless we can freely use official ones). All staff has to do upon approval is undo the last template edit, which I explained in the edit summary; if not approved yet...well, it stays the way it is. LOL CycloneGU (talk) 23:47, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Question

Is there a rule about English being the language used on Bulbapedia? Asking because a user used Swedish on a user page. CycloneGU (talk) 21:32, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

It's fine. Provided they're not breaking any other policy in that language, it doesn't really matter. (And besides, we have Google Translate now!) --Abcboy (talk) 21:43, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
Alright, wanted to check before saying anything. Though Google Translate also isn't always the most accurate translation available. LOL
Did the EB review the split page project for Shuffle stages yesterday? I noticed you made other EB-approved edits. CycloneGU (talk) 21:53, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
No, they have not. I'm going to tag Pokémon Shuffle with {{split}} to formalize the move. --Abcboy (talk) 22:00, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
I linked to the first of the pages and invited discussion at the main article talk page. CycloneGU (talk) 22:44, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Help me please! I'm out of edits to use! I'm trying to "clean up" the list of German opening theme songs and well... it's all messed up because of me! So I was wondering if you could please clean it up for me because I am still a new user here? (btw my first language is English) ~Kimiko San - unsigned comment from Kimiko San (talkcontribs)

In the future, please sign talk page comments with four tildes ~~~~. Just use the "Edit this page" button on the top of the page to edit the entire page, and use "Show preview" instead of "Save page". When the entire page looks exactly like you want it to, then click "Save page".
Each table shold look like this:
{{Schemetable|region}}
! German
! English
|-
| <ab>German lyrics</ab>
| <ab>English translation</ab>
|}
|}
If the two |} at the bottom are missing, the table doesn't end. --Abcboy (talk) 11:27, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

Heh heh sorry about the talk page thing also I know what the format is supposed to be but that isn't the problem.... for some reason after the BW Rivil Destinations the after formating is really weird (idk if you saw the page your self yet) Kimiko San 15:22, 16 December 2015 (UTC) Kimiko San 15:19, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

Edit Request

Here, I have made one edit request but I think no one noticed it. Can you please make that edit too? Yash Sen 16:27, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Wow

I completely missed that the Blazikenite is the second prize in the chain. I think I'm going to include Escalation Battle in the separate page project because the amount of prose for that page is going to be unreal after an edit over there, so I'll start working on that this evening. BTW, turns out ALL THREE PRIZES go to the highest winners. The irony is that the Jewel would let you buy half a third of the Coins to buy a Complexity-1, so they value the Jewel under the 25K prize anyway. LOL CycloneGU (talk) 21:05, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

"The top 25,000 scorers get a Complexity -1...unless you are in the top 20,000 places, in which case you instead get a Blazikenite, allowing your Blaziken to Mega Evolve! And if you're in the top 6,000, you get a Mega Speedup as well!"
The wording of the in-game notice and on the official site imply that you either get a Complexity -1 or a Blazikenite, not both. --Abcboy (talk) 21:32, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
Well, I'll be...what the heck kind of tiered prizing is this? LOL So basically, 5,000 people will get Complexity-1 as a consolation prize. I wish these guys would quit experimenting with the prize pools and do something more sensible. Oh well. I'm still going to remove the "only" because there's no point to it in any of the entries, as each line in each cell is its own sentence, in that sense. I'll only use the Blazikenite level in the single-entry version since that's the intended prize. I wonder if we should just keep the Complexity-1 separate and not in the table itself on the current version, using a note tag to reference it as a consolation prize? Though honestly, I don't see why they have to keep limiting prizes; apparently they make money this way, or they wouldn't keep doing it. I still haven't spent a penny. LOL CycloneGU (talk) 21:48, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Skills

Pursuant to your thread on my page yesterday, I noted there that I started work on it. I have copied and been converting the table to English in my User:CycloneGU/Sandbox. English descriptions are all that we need in that one column (this can still be helpful, however), then we can start looking at the data that you want to see possibly added at User:Abcboy/Skill as it lies in the sandbox right now. There are notes on some of the multipliers that we still need to analyze and figure out. CycloneGU (talk) 20:29, 21 July 2015 (UTC)

Done. To what extent do you want to use some of this in the Skill table now? Did you just want to add the damage multipliers? I also made some English notes where they had notes (those were generally my own words) that you may wish to check as some entries may not have notes on your version. CycloneGU (talk) 15:39, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
Would you be able to check the accuracy of the multipliers? For example, Power of 4+ was said to be a 3x multiplier on the official site, but is stated to be 4.5x here. --Abcboy (talk) 16:07, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
I might be able to check some of them, provided I figure out what to look for. I am currently working on Cresselia, so it will have to be something I can take into that stage and not necessarily fail. LOL checking the ones that claim to increase to a power based on how many times in a row it's matched might prove more challenging. CycloneGU (talk) 16:10, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
About the multipliers, it's very simple. When you make a match of 4, normally the Pokémon's Attack Power will be multiplied by 1.5. But when Power of 4 is activated, that amount is multiplied by 1.5 once more, which means 1.5 x 1.5 = 2.25x (yeah, it's stronger that a normal match of 5, which is 2x). In other cases, when Power of 4+ is activated, that power will be tripled instead, which means 1.5 x 3 = 4.5x. So the 3x multiplier in the official site implies that it's compared to a normal match of 4, not the Attack Power. And I'm really sorry if I made any grammatical errors, since my English is very poor. Thank you! --Yen01 (talk) 09:20, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
So it would not be 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 instead? I'm surprised they multiply 1.5 x 1.5 for one and directly by three for the other. CycloneGU (talk) 19:35, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
What Yen01 is saying is that damage for Power of 4 is power * 1.5 (because it's a match of four) * 1.5 (because Power of 4 was activated), while damage for Power of 4+ is power * 1.5 (because it's a match of four) * 3 (because Power of 4+ was activated). Thus we get the multipliers 2.25x and 4.5x, respectively. The effect of Power of 4/Power of 4+ is really the second multiplier, though, and not the two combined. If we could catalog all the other multipliers too, that would definitely help make the table more clear. --Abcboy (talk) 22:56, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
Ah, so we know the exact multiplier. This can be aided with a note on those that might be confusing detailing exactly why the multiplier is that. CycloneGU (talk) 23:05, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
That's exactly what I mean, thanks Abcboy for helping me explain it clearly (I definitely need to improve my English a lot more) --Yen01 (talk) 09:59, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Raikou, Entei, Suicune

On the species pages, under the events section,. there should be a whole bunch of Shiny stars next to many events as the event detail pages shows them as Shiny. Can you look into this? I was going to just add it, but I'm guessing there's a reason it's not there on any of them. CycloneGU (talk) 23:46, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

Someone probably just forgot. Just add [[File:ShinyIVStar.png|Shiny|link=Shiny Pokémon]] after the level and it should be fine. --Abcboy (talk) 23:55, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
Done. CycloneGU (talk) 04:59, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Pokemon movies in South Asia

Hey, Hungama TV has started airing promos for M02 as Pokemon the Movie: Ash Pikachu aur Lugia in Danger. Can you change the info on the south asia page to reflect this? Unhide the M02 info and change its name? I know a source is needed, but all we have at the moment is this. I know that the page is unofficial, but theyhave clicked a picture of the channel, and it can be accepted as real source. So, please simply change The second movie Pokémon The Movie 2000 - The Power of One is coming soon this year on the channel as Pokémon The Movie - Ek ki Taaqat (Hindi: एक की ताकत) according to Hungama TV. to The second movie Pokémon The Movie 2000 - The Power of One is coming soon on the channel as Pokémon The Movie - Ash Pikachu Laur Lugia in Danger (Hindi: Ash Pikachu और Lugia इन डेंजर).. → PikaTepig999 8:09 PM, July 27, 2015 (IST) 14:39, 27 July 2015 (UTC) | Edited 8:26 PM, July 27, 2015 (IST) → PikaTepig999 8:26 PM, July 27, 2015 (IST) 14:56, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Hey here's the promo video. Looks like it's a teaser of the movie. Yash Sen 15:51, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
It can be changed when it airs, so that the information about the openings and endings and skipped scenes can all be added at once. There's no rush to change the page. --Abcboy (talk) 03:07, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
Hey it's not necessary that they will do that same thing (about the theme songs) with M02 too. So that is why please add that info to the article as the promo has aired therefore it's necessary for that info to be added. Later updates can be added later. So please add that info to the article as the promo has aired and it is necessary now only to be added. Yash Sen 07:40, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! Yash Sen 08:06, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent)I have a couple of updates for the South Asia page. First, please add the movie logo. I think you should add <gallery>. Second, according to this very good source, New episodes of S17 are starting from tomorrow. So to the end of the S17 para, pls add After a month of putting the season on hiatus, Hungama resumed airing new episodes from 1 August, 2015. But as a result, XY019 and XY020 were skipped.. We'll have to wait till Monday to find out if new episodes of S05 are starting. → PikaTepig999 6:36 PM, July 31, 2015 (IST) 13:06, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

I've added the movie logo but have hidden the skipped episode info. Can you wait a few more hours to confirm that they did skip XY019 and XY020? The page you linked doesn't show episode titles, just numbers, which aren't most reliable. --Abcboy (talk) 01:44, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
That site has been very reliable in the past. The site uses production codes, with the last two digits for episode number and first one or two digits for Season. Hence 1721 becomes 21nd episode of 17th season. However, if you want, let's wait till the episodes air. → PikaTepig999 11:27 AM, August 1, 2015 (IST) 05:57, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
It's more of the fact numbers don't necessarily correspond (like XY024 or SS033, which depending on who you ask should be in different places under different titles). For example, I wouldn't be at all surprised if your dub moves XY024 somewhere else or skips it entirely. --Abcboy (talk) 06:05, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
That's true. And I think that XY024 will be aired after XY051 or something, Like the US dub order. → PikaTepig999 11:38 AM, August 1, 2015 (IST) 06:08, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
They aired 021 and 022 today and skipped 019 and 020. Hence you can unhide that info. → PikaTepig999 4:34 PM, August 1, 2015 (IST) 11:04, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for adding that! → PikaTepig999 3:26 PM, August 2, 2015 (IST) 09:56, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent) The movie is going to be aired on 22nd August, can that info be added, i saw it on the challenge Pratik_12 Talk 15:32, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

Can you provide a better source for that? A picture would be good enough. --Abcboy (talk) 00:45, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
We watched it ourselves on TV. That is why no source required. Well anyway, see this then. Yash Sen 09:43, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
About the image, it has been clicked from the TV and has been cropped. Yash Sen 09:45, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
This one too. → PikaTepig999 3:26 PM, August 2, 2015 (IST) 09:56, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for adding that. Now all other info like skipping of themes, based on Jap version etc. can be added after the movie airs. → PikaTepig999 05:12, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
Not necessary that Hungama TV will do that again about the theme song and Jap. version! Yash Sen 12:51, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent) As we discussed above, today the Hindi dub aired XY023 & 025. XY024 was skipped. Most probably it will be aired as a a part of S18 (if it ever gets dubbed). Is it necessary to update the SA page with XY024 skipping info? I sugget adding it as this: As XY024 was aired out of order in the US dub, Hungama too skipped it during the airing of S17, most probably because it will be aired as a part of S18.PikaTepig999 10:53, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! → PikaTepig999 11:26, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

Stage Template

Can you set up a parameter for "Safari Encounter Rate", or something along those lines, in your stage template for use in the Safari stage layout on the split special stage pages? I'm sure adding it in the usage is simple (since we can label a column and just add the extra parameter), but at the same time including it in the template itself might not hurt. CycloneGU (talk) 19:16, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

The only parameters this template requires is NDex number, Pokémon name, and type. Everything is/isn't needed on some stages, so the template changes to adjust. I've added an extra column to User:Abcboy/Pokémon Safari, you can move it around if you want. --Abcboy (talk) 01:30, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

May 10th vs May 10

Hello I've discovered that there is inconsistency in how the as of dates are displayed on the number of article:xxx+ on the niwa articles, some have 10th and some have only 10 which one should I use? Example; on F-Zero Wiki it says: Number of Articles:247+ and on Wars Wiki it says: Number of Articles:556+. Once again which one is correct? --Raltseye (talk) 13:31, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Use "10", not "10th". That appears to be the way most of the pages use it and a brief search indicate that is preferred. --Abcboy (talk) 13:37, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
Thank you I will change those now. It is also preferred I guess because it will fit better with 1, 2 and 3 as they otherwise have to be changed to 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectivly. --Raltseye (talk) 13:45, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
Sorry forgot to ask this but while we're at it should 04 be preferred before 4? --Raltseye (talk) 13:48, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
"4", not "04". --Abcboy (talk) 13:50, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
Thank you that'll be all --Raltseye (talk) 13:51, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Reverted edits on "Pokémon world in relation to the real world"

Hello you recently reverted some of my edits on the page: "Pokémon world in relation to the real world". I just wanted to understand why they were reverted. For example I removed information about Torishima as it stated that it is "Known as the habitat of the albatross" I did not think this information is relevant because it is never stated in the games that it has albatross. You stated that Ho-Oh and Lugia could be the albatross but they don't really look like the species of bird. I removed information about Sakurajima spreading ash over the region but it was added back. Is Mt. Pyre even an active volcano? If Mt. Pyre isn't all of the information in the "notes" section is irrelevant because it doesn't correspond to its game counterpart.

Maybe we just need to be stricter about what should go in the "notes" section for example I removed from Littleroot Town's section information about the US running a Navy base but there isn't a Navy base in Littleroot Town so it's hardly relevant.Ratchet and Clank 1995 (talk) 17:13, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Torishima and Navel Rock are both uninhabited islands upon which species of large birds live. I think I confused Mt. Pyre for the actual volcano in Hoenn, Mt. Chimney, so that one can be removed.
I personally added most of the information for Almia, and I think that most of the notes there should be relevant to the page. The only that may not is Niseko, which has the ski resort connection purely to establish a link between it and the frozen wasteland that is Shiver Camp. I was unfortunately unable to find any frozen wastelands in Hokkaido. --Abcboy (talk) 00:41, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
I guess the ski resort is relevant to its Pokémon counterpart so I'm not going to remove that information. I agree with you that Almia's notes do relate to the Pokémon world so that section is ok. Thanks for the Mt. Pyre reply, I'm going to remove those notes and I somewhat see the albatross relevance to Navel Rock.Ratchet and Clank 1995 (talk) 05:32, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

So...

What's happening with User:Abcboy/Puerto_Blanco and all of those? Any word yet? I've been busy cloning over at a forum, so I've been getting a lot of rare events. Really need to get a couple of projects done here as well. CycloneGU (talk) 17:47, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

I have no idea. I don't think the Editorial Board has yet met this month (or I would seen some other moves/splits done). --Abcboy (talk) 22:55, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Move Reminder Text

"Moves in bold can be taught again at the Move Reminder if forgotten."

That is extremely misleading. All moves the event Pokémon knows can generally be retaught. It suggests that a 2015 Tanabata Jirachi cannot relearn Cosmic Power if forgotten, or Wish for that matter. Better wording is required. CycloneGU (talk) 22:44, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Please speak to SnorlaxMonster about the event-related info. Also, as mentioned at the top of the page, I will be mostly unavailable for the rest of the month. --Abcboy (talk) 07:06, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
The point of the bold is to specifically tag moves that are specially coded as relearnable. It utilizes the same mechanic Egg Moves do to be relearned. It can also apply to level-up moves (although I'm not sure if there are any examples). I've modified it to specify that the moves can be relearned as a special move to help alleviate confusion. --SnorlaxMonster 09:50, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
That's what I meant. The previous wording suggested that only moves in bold could be relearned; bold was already used to indicate special moves specifically that can be relearned only on that event. Something like "Moves in bold are special event-only moves that can be retaught via the Move Relearner" was what I had in mind. Whatever works. =) CycloneGU (talk) 01:32, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

The download link to the Emerald Text Dump seems broken. Could you re-upload it? --Maxim (talk) 10:25, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

I'm currently out of town and thus can't do it for a couple weeks. I downloaded the file previously and will reupload it when I get home. --Abcboy (talk) 05:02, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
I have re-uploaded it to my Dropbox and have changed the link accordingly. --Abcboy (talk) 22:06, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

M02 in India

The movie premiered today. Again, the Japanese version of the movie was aired. The opening and ending themes were again skipped. Many more scenes were cut too. Can you update the page with this? → PikaTepig999 09:51, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Can you also add that new episodes from EP263 are starting from 31st August? Better add this in the past tense so that you dont have to change it again when the episodes air. → PikaTepig999 10:01, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Hey Abcboy, why call EP262 as the last episode of Master Quest? The "Master Quest" subtitle remains till the last episode of original series. So in my opinion, you should replace the line Starting on August 31, 2015, the channel started airing the remaining Johto episodes, starting the season Pokémon: Advanced. with Starting on August 31, 2015, the channel restarted airing the remaining episodes of the season. The season as well as the Original series completed its initial run on the channel with the airing of Hoenn Alone., then you should remove Pokémon Advanced from the Original series table and then replace the line The Hoenn portion of Pokémon: Advanced debuted on Hungama TV with the airing of Get The Show On The Road on September 16, 2015. with Pokémon: Advanced debuted on Hungama TV with the airing of Get The Show On The Road on September 16, 2015.. Please do it because even though productive wise it is but the subtitle "Master Quest" remains till the last episode of the original series and then in DVD too EP274 is the last episode. And then in that page info about the seasons are according to the DVD episodes not productive wise so please do it! --Yash Sen 13:49, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

Bulbapedia is using the production season definitions, especially in contexts where the episodes are being aired according to those seasons. --Abcboy (talk) 16:25, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

Just Saw That

Is that template change a temporary thing while waiting for EB approval? I noticed that the locations in the template all just became links to just the name, so that either means it's approved or there's something confusing going on since the template would have a singular use otherwise on only one page (since they currently all anchor to that same one page, making it pointless). CycloneGU (talk) 03:50, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

The split has been approved for Skill, the Main Stages, Expert Stages, Special Stages (intentionally excluding the subpages for more specific Special Stages, as the EB doesn't feel it's necessary to split Special Stages up). However, I can't move the pages as someone went and created redirects for all of the suggested page titles, meaning that after the pages and templates are finalized, someone of a higher rank than me will have to move the stage pages to the final names. I'm finishing up and updating the pages at the moment, so hopefully they can actually be moved within the next day or so. --Abcboy (talk) 04:18, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
If the redirects are deleted, I can even move the pages, but I'm sure it would all be done at once to keep it seamless.
I did do some slight text differences on the newer pages, so be careful to compare the text in the special stages in particular. Hopefully it will be seen later why the split special pages makes sense, but the initial split was indeed necessary for this and it's a good start. I can finally finalize my sidegames layouts and start editing those after I figure out why my LG device driver suddenly stopped working (I can't pull my redemption proofs off my phone, and I am baffled as to why the driver failed). CycloneGU (talk) 04:27, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
I think the mass delete just happened. I can start moving pages, and we can edit information off of the Shuffle page as we confirm everything is transferred over. It's best to do it a little at a time (especially for special stages) since it's so large. Doing sidegames additions will come after it's all done. CycloneGU (talk) 04:33, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
That works too. LOL I'll turn the main stages and expert stages areas into a table of links sort of thing like what's at Pokémon Rumble World. Special stages will stay on the page for now until it's reconstructed. CycloneGU (talk) 04:41, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
The other special stages have been merged into User:Abcboy/Special Stages. Can you check if the text is right? --Abcboy (talk) 06:20, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
I added the bit for Mega Sharpedo in comments (it's out next week in competition land, though with very limited Mega Speedup rewards) and corrected some details on the Try 'em Items stages, including noting the 1 Coin reward was clearly a Wobbuffet gag type of thing. One thing I did there was note that, for instance, 10,001-15,000 win the lowest tier prize. I'm thinking we need to reverse the order of the table to put the best prize first in all cases where there are varied prizes, and have the consolation prize as the last column. Let me think about those tables a bit and I'll work on it in the morning and move the page after verifying the rest of the text. At that point I'll put Special Stages into the table at Pokémon Shuffle, where it's already prepped for entry, as well, then I can give my list of Shuffle Pokémon another batch of updates. Side games data will be added on Pokémon pages starting likely on Monday after the latest Shuffle update, though there may be no update as Mega Sharpedo's stage is already there (we will see, but Carvanha is looking like a good fourth Pokémon like with using Pignite on Emboar). I did notice, at the main page, that updates were not put into the updates table since August 3, so I'll be reviewing all of the pastebin files to confirm everything for that as well. Lots to do! CycloneGU (talk) 06:52, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Casey

The Pokémon Center nurse article is unfit for her specific info. Why not create an article for her since Teala has hers? SatoMew 19:03, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

I think the best option would be to expand and link to her section on List of Contest opponents (Generation IV) from the nurse article if you find that more suitable. There's not enough about her to be sufficiently notable for her own article. --Abcboy (talk) 19:13, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Side Games Layout Samples

Getting ready to (finally!) get these updated onto the Pokémon articles. I asked Glik, but no response yet to these samples. What are your thoughts on them? I'll note that expansion has been done on Rumble U (since consistency was brought up; though I personally thought they were fine without expansion in all cases, I've had to since expand three of them), and I've also put SMALL tags around the bracketed portions in Rumble U like elsewhere in the examples. Otherwise, I think they're ready to go. CycloneGU (talk) 19:54, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

It looks fine. --Abcboy (talk) 19:55, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Awesome. I know what I'm doing after dinner, then. This will take a while. LOL CycloneGU (talk) 19:56, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Area Pages

I think we need separate tables for 3DS and Mobile. That seems the way to go. We're doing that on Special Stages, after all, and it seems better. CycloneGU (talk) 16:23, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

With the Special Stages, the distribution dates are different and the available stages. The Main Stages are the same between the two games with what are ultimately minor differences. --Abcboy (talk) 16:34, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Even so, when four columns have differing information in them, I'd say it warrants a separate table. Otherwise, it forces users to pick apart what they need in each table. It's the same as, instead of just linking to Leafy Expanse with an anchor link to Lookout Tree on Pokémon pages, we have to add "Leafy Expanse" on the page. Even ignoring that, we have the consistency thing; if we're splitting the tables for Special Stages, we have to split them for main stages as well. CycloneGU (talk) 17:05, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
It would look like this. It's in my opinion far less clear, as you're just drawn to the colorful tables before you read the section header. The reason the Special Stages tables are split is because the order of the events are different, while the Main Stages are in the same order. --Abcboy (talk) 17:23, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
That's exactly what I had in mind. And this is an area page, so I see no problem in expanding that out. It's perfectly clear, to me, that each table corresponds to one of the two versions of the game. What if a third version of the game were to be released for PC? The combined tables would become even more muddled. CycloneGU (talk) 17:56, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Go ahead and split them, I guess. --Abcboy (talk) 18:12, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Future Event?

Zygarde is a Pokémon, not a future event. That notice only applies to events, I think. Isn't there a notice that just says that information may be changing rapidly without labeling the entire article as an event when it's clearly about the species itself? CycloneGU (talk) 18:50, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

I just did the same thing staff did to Volcanion (Pokémon). --Abcboy (talk) 18:54, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Explorers of Sky in Korean

But if Explorers of Sky was not released in Korean why is there a name for it and why is it on this page? Shouldn't there be some sort of explaination? --Raltseye (talk) 23:58, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

That appears to be the name used by most South Koreans when referring to the game, even though it hasn't been released there. It may have been used in something official, but I'm not sure. --Abcboy (talk) 00:02, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Shouldn't that be a disclaimer in the in other languages box next to the name using a *? --Raltseye (talk) 00:11, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
The problem is that I don't know where the name came from. The user who added the name didn't give a official source, but searching for it shows that it is the commonly used name for the game. Due to the lack of sourcing, it could justifiably be removed, but I've seen some names for other things added from those sources. --Abcboy (talk) 00:16, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Yes I see but if we are going to keep the Korean name then I guess that we have to add the Chinese name aswell even though it has not been released in china either for the same reaseon and I think that would be messy to have names of games that does not have an official name. --Raltseye (talk) 00:22, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
When some of the Japanese Pokémon games are released in China, official merchandising uses translated Chinese names. As such, those are considered official. If the Korean name isn't used official, it should be removed. --Abcboy (talk) 00:44, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Thank you I have now removed it :) --Raltseye (talk) 00:48, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon in latin america

Hello I just wanted to know where you found info that the game will be called Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon in latinamerica and not Pokémon mundo megamisterioso which it will in Spain? Just curious since I tried to find a site to state that and nothing found. --Raltseye (talk) 03:28, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

The American English games are marketed and sold in Latin America, so generally the game titles are left untranslated. You can see that from the official site, http://pokemonmysterydungeon.com/supermysterydungeon/, if you change your region to Latin America. --Abcboy (talk) 04:00, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
Yes but that's also the case if you choose canadian french where it should display Pokémon Méga Donjon Mystère which it is not not even in the plain text below so my conclusion is that they just skip it for all therefor it is not sure to say that it will be released like Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon in latinamerica --Raltseye (talk) 04:16, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

Could you please warn this user?

This user has been adding many Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese names for game-exclusive location without any source and removing or changing many moves and abilities translations, many of them I'm absolutely sure they were called the previous way in the anime, such as Thunder Shock. SatoMew2 and I asked why he/she was adding these things on his/her talk page, but he/she ignored us and kept making edits. Could you please warn him/her? --Mine4017 (talk) 21:28, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

He/she ignored your warning and now edited an ability exclusive to the games and manga that wasn't released in Brazil or Portugal. And by the looks of it, he/she is translating the names him/herself. Can I revert these edits? --Mine4017 (talk) 22:10, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
Given the lack of sourcing, feel free to remove the Portuguese names.--Abcboy (talk) 23:09, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
The user re-added the name for Magma Armor which I said there was no source (the only other languages that appear in the section are present in the games) and he/she removed the Chinese name too. He/She also removed many language translations from Octazooka (already reverted) and is removing Chinese names from other moves as well. And he/she didn't answer anything on the talk page. --Mine4017 (talk) 20:17, 17 October 2015 (UTC)

Hey, I contacted Nachiket Dighe, the Hindi Hungama dub VA for Ash, on Facebook, and asked him for some details about the anime on the channel. Thanks! I also found some more info can you update the page with that too? Neshma Chemburkar voiced Misty in CN dub for S01 to S02. Jessie in CN dub was voiced by Nandini Sharma, while Mewoth in Cn dub was voiced by Damandeep Singh Baggan for S01 to S02 and Sandeep Karnik for S03 - S14. Can you update the page with this info too? I've added, but do you have a source for the CN voice actors if someone questions it? --Abcboy (talk) 18:09, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! I googled for most of the CN actors, and compared voices with their other work. By the way, can you change Hungama TV dub to Hungama dub because everywhere else on the wiki like when adding episode titles we have used Hungama dub instead of Hungama TV dub. → PikaTepig999 5:18 PM, October 15, 2015 (IST) 11:48, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Japanese-only suffixes

The proper way of translating them is to ignore them. Mentioning them in the transliterations and/or translations doesn't make sense, unless you're talking about honorifics in the context of direct quotes, for example. SatoMew2 (talk) 16:59, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Previous uses of "-chan" are present on pages like Growlie and Bonnie's Zygrade Core (and "-hakase" and "-sensei" on some pages somewhere, though I guess that's technically a title), so I would rather keep it as it conveys meaning that I would prefer not to lose. If standard translation practice is to ignore them, then I guess the honorifics can be removed. --Abcboy (talk) 17:18, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
The honorifics in the titles of professors (-sensei, -hakase) are important and can be translated to "Dr." just fine. But the suffixes in ship names are just a thing that the Japanese do and which we don't so we must ignore them while transl(iter)ating them. As to Growlie, if it's referred to as "Gar-chan" in Japanese, then the current presentation of the information is already correct. SatoMew2 (talk) 17:24, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

TPC UK

Did "Pokémon UK" exist as such? TPC's website only refers to it as "representative office" whereas PUSA and TPCi are clearly named. SatoMew2 (talk) 00:50, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

The source of the merge announcement on Bulbanews used the name. Searches in that time period show other results too. --Abcboy (talk) 02:06, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
Eh, I wouldn't consider a site that requires you to pay a reliable source. To me, they only used "Pokémon UK" as an easy way to contrast with Pokémon USA. As to other results, which search terms did you use exactly? Do any of them lead to a reliable source? I still think we shouldn't use "Pokémon UK" without a primary official source backing it up. It's simply odd that TPC would mention themselves, their affiliate, as well as their USA and South Korea subsidiaries by name without doing the same thing for the UK office, IMO. All they say is "Representative office is established in London, England." in English and 「英国ロンドンに駐在員事務所を設立」 in Japanese.
Also, why did you remove the links to the Official Pokémon Websites? SatoMew2 (talk) 10:21, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
The paywall is primarily due to the article's age. It is six years old after all. My search terms were "Pokémon UK" with filtering by date to things dated from 2000 to 2010. The official site at the time was a flash-based mess, so I'll have to look at the archives of it on an actual computer when I get the chance. The privacy policies should use the company's proper name.
The official websites aren't entirely relevant to The Pokémon Company itself. Links to official sites belong on Pokémon.com. It would be like linking to the nintendo.com homepage when discussing specifically the Nintendo 3DS; the page is somewhat related, but not really relevant. --Abcboy (talk) 10:41, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
Oh, I see. I'll take a look at old Pokémon.com to see if I can find anything. But isn't Pokémon.com specifically about the English website? Shouldn't we move it to Official Pokémon Website (the name given to the site by TPC)? SatoMew2 (talk) 11:07, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

Card e room

Thanks for letting me know where support for that title came from. =P I'd like to ask if you think there's any way we can just move it to "Card e room", with a lowercase "r", without a lot of fuss? If ever a move were an easy decision, it should be that. At the very least, supposing it would be an easy decision, is there any way it could be guaranteed to be considered at the absolute soonest next opportunity? Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:02, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

I'm not really sure whether it's best translated with "room" lowercase as it is the name of the location. We do have "Union Room", not "Union room". --Abcboy (talk) 01:57, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Geh. You had to make a good point. >_< Alright then, I guess I'll just leave it to the fates... Tiddlywinks (talk) 02:03, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Super Mystery Dungeon - No Page Updates?

Have we started to put together (thanks to the game being out in Japan since Sept. 17) what Pokémon are found where? We don't even have the starter Pokémon info on the 20 pages it applies to yet; I know I worked around it when updating other Gen. VI data.

I also am excited for Pokémon Picross, another project I can start on here. Been taking a general editing break to actually play some games lately. LOL CycloneGU (talk) 03:53, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

I don't have the game (I don't have a Japanese 3DS), therefore I am unable to update the pages. (There is some information on the Japanese and German wikis, but it seems to be highly incomplete.) Judging from current progress, serious work will probably begin with the US release. --Abcboy (talk) 04:21, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
I could watch a Japanese Let's Play (I think there are a few) and glean information from them. What will interest me is whether we can capture our own, for instance, Bibarel or Pancham or such over time, or whether as NPCs they cannot be encountered. Supposedly all 720 are in the game somehow, but the assumption is they can all be caught (starters may be the exception). CycloneGU (talk) 04:46, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

I have some edit requests on that page. Hungama TV completed S06 this Wednesday and S17 last Saturday. So can you please add this info in there respective sections? Also, according to this, S18 is starting from tomorrow. So add it too by making a new para in XY series section. Also better add it in past tense so there will be no need to change it back. Also, Hungama TV up till S03 started new seasons the next day of the previous season conclusion itself. After S03 for S04 and S05, it took 3-4 days gap (in which they re-aired episodes). After S05, it took about 1-2 months gap (in which they re-aired episodes). So you can add this info as one point in Trivia section in that page. --Yash Sen 13:22, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

@Yash Sen, where does it say season 17 is going to start tomorrow, it just says 1749 and 1701 where first two digits are season number and the other two episode number Pratik_12 Talk 13:48, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
You mean season 18, right? Abou the edit requests, @abcboy I think that you should only add the info about S06 and S17 ending. There is still doubt if S18 will debut tomorrow. Also the trivia about seasons beginning the next day or after 2-3 months is imo unnotable. - unsigned comment from PikaTepig999 (talkcontribs)
Actually I think that you should wait till the episodes air tomorrow before making any edits there so that we can add correct info in a single edit. → PikaTepig999 16:26, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
S17 has only 48 episodes. Hence, 1749=episode 1 of S18. So add that info. --Yash Sen 16:31, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
That is not how this works. For other seasons, that site has not used numbers like this. So we will have to wait till tomorrow to find out which episode is airing. → PikaTepig999 16:43, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent)They have used. --Yash Sen 08:46, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

They had not used like that. Where were refering to? → PikaTepig999 10:33, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
As I predicted, it was not season 18. They aired Mega Evolution Special I. This can be added in a section named 'Specials' under the Hungama anime section on that page. → PikaTepig999 10:40, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
So Abcboy please add that s06 and s17 ended and Mega Special Acts aired please. --Yash Sen 12:04, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! --Yash Sen 08:08, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Can you please change From the start of the season, Hungama TV skipped the title card of the episodes and using a new logo for the series, replacing the one used in other dubs. to From the start of the season, Hungama TV skipped the title card of the episodes and started using a new logo for the series, replacing the one used in other dubs.. Also, I have an idea for better arrangement of the sections. Rename the Pokemon movies sections to Pokemon movies and specials. Add the Mega Evo epi info there, and also in CN section add the PK short info in that section. Another thing, italicise the name of M02 in hungama section. Thanks in advance. → PikaTepig999 04:11, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

According to Nichiket sir and Rucha mam, the Hungama dub voice actor for Narrator from S04 onwards is Vinod Sharma and for Pokedex original and AG series is Rajesh Kava. Also, for Nurse Joy in XY original and AG series is Ambika. Can you please add this too there? --Yash Sen 16:23, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
That is not needed there. On that page w add the main characters cast only. Other characters VA's are added on those characters' pages. → PikaTepig999 04:35, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
@PikaTepig999 Changed. --Abcboy (talk) 03:40, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
It would be better if you add the info about Mega Special 1 info in that table also of that Pokemon movies and special section in Hungama TV section, keeping the line which says about it there as it is only add that info in that table also. --Yash Sen 06:26, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, abcboy! One last edit needed is that a reference in the merchandise section is unnamed, and has an extra square bracket, can you fix that? Also adding the info in the table is not really necessary, however if you think it should be added, then I suggest adding it like"Mega Evolution Special series". Thanks once again. → PikaTepig999 11:17, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Adding that info in that table is necessary since all the other info had been added in their respective tables hence add this Mega Special info too in that table please! Thanks in advance. --Yash Sen 15:15, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Add it. --Yash Sen 14:27, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much, Abcboy! --Yash Sen 06:54, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi! In the Hungama TV Movies section, can you also add Hungama TV introduced many blocks which aired the movies of Pokémon, Beyblade and Shin Chan.? Thanks in advance! - unsigned comment from Yash Sen (talkcontribs)

Thanks! --Yash Sen 09:16, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

Puni-Chan

Can you please help over the redirect thing issue, i moved User:Upratik 12/Puni-chan over to Puni chan cause i was not able to move it to Puni-chan, can you fix this Pratik_12 Talk 19:05, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

This has been fixed. In the future, if you find you are unable to move a page, don't move it and ask a user of Administrator rank or higher to move it to the correct place. --Abcboy (talk) 20:55, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Russian classification system

Hello I was wondering as we have CERO, ESRB, ACB, OFLC, PEGI, and GRB representated on all our game pages should we not have the russian aswell, and by the what is it called, do you know that?

This is for reference [2] and [3]. I know the second does not have it on the box it is on the site. --Raltseye 16:46, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Only the regions Japan, North America, Australia, Europe, and South Korea are notable and included in the infobox. Therefore, the corresponding CERO, ESRB, ACB, OFLC, PEGI, and GRB ratings are included. Also, the games aren't officially translated into Russian unlike the regions that are included. --Abcboy (talk) 03:40, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

First Video of Pokémon Picross

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRwQKwOXSRM

Towards the end is Stage 01-01. What's interesting is that each stage has missions to earn Picrites in addition to the regular clear reward. There is no information on how Picrite purchasing is done or any packages (maybe the evaluation copy doesn't have that information), and there also is no indication of their use for anything like area unlocking yet, so we can't put anything in for that yet. I'll be keeping an eye out for other videos tomorrow from people with Japanese 3DS systems and recording using those so we might be able to add more information prior to the U.S. release. I know I'll be buried in there on the 3rd, myself.

That said, however, now that we know there are missions tied to each stage, we're going to have to have a VERY detailed page for the stages. See the castle missions on Pokémon Rumble World? Something like that. And apparently 300 of them. I'm thinking about how to put it together and will discuss that, but having only seen one Pokémon stage in play I want to see if I can find more gameplay tomorrow to work with. I'm going to look on Twitch as well in case it has a category. CycloneGU (talk) 02:04, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

Hanzo mess

Can you or someone higher up take care of the Hanzo pages with Hanzo (Kalos) being a redirect of Heidayu and Hanzo (Ninja) being moved to just Hanzo since there is only one in existence? PattyMan 22:14, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

I have moved the page to Hanzō (Kalos) due to the pre-existing Hanzō. --Abcboy (talk) 22:55, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

HI and to as characters

So I experimented with the name characters handful code a while back, and they do occupy hexadecimal slot 71 for HI and 70 for to try it out! :) TeiMoe 04:17, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

Please add new sections to the bottom of talk pages. While they are tiles that display characters, the characters are junk data that may display differently in different parts of the game and are thus excluded from the page's names and text renderings of the glitch Pokémon's names. --Abcboy (talk) 04:18, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
how come some hav them like 4HI4 ? They are pretty constant ... They may change in text boxes or battle to opening and closing apostrophes. Even the Pokéball borders hav a spot on the big hex list of glitchcity.com I wouldn't designate them as junk data like the colorful pixels of overworld that change everywhere
You should try it out and see really! TeiMoe–>Tell me how I'm doing 04:34, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
edit:they technically do appear differently in different parts of the game, but only in text boxes and in battle maybe. I understand what you mean by junk tiles and these are not
Because they can change to apostrophes, they're not considered constant and aren't included. --Abcboy (talk) 04:40, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
ok I understand. May I leave the trivia I put on their articles? Or would you like me to remove it TeiMoe–>Tell me how I'm doing 04:50, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
The trivia is fine. --Abcboy (talk) 06:15, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

Can I Find Out...

...what the status is of my suggestion for the stage data and Pokémon data pages for Pokémon Picross? Short of adding the stage info and expanding the Pokémon list for more information (I can return the sort to numerical NDex for consistency, as the sort options are available), the list will be ready to go; meanwhile, stage data we have a data rip for and can now add everything through Area 30 (looking up a few missing Mythicals), and we also have all of the Alt World missions which I'll be doing as a completely separate page. The pages should be placed and linked properly at this point, I would think. Do I have permission to make those moves? CycloneGU (talk) 03:47, 7 December 2015 (UTC)

Official Kalos Region Guidebook/"level 1"

Out of curiosity, are you sure the "start moves" are listed as level 1 in Pokémon X & Pokémon Y: The Official Kalos Region Guidebook? Not Pokémon X & Pokémon Y: The Official Kalos Region Pokédex & Postgame Adventure Guide? I have the former, and I can't seem to find a single level-up learnset in it. Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:47, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

That was a mistake on my part while reading what Kogoro said. It is indeed the Pokédex guide. --Abcboy (talk) 04:49, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

Forms in other languages

Some were named in the anime, though, and they appear in more languages than just the main ones. Eridanus (talk) 10:27, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

If the language has translated all or most of them, just add a column for that language like on List of locations in other languages. When I created the table, few languages besides FGISK had entries for more than one or two Pokémon. But otherwise, I don't believe it's notable, which is why those languages are not represented on lists such as List of categories in other languages. --Abcboy (talk) 15:18, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Idea for New Catregory

I was looking at some of the episode pages, and got an idea to have a category Episodes with Insert Songs which would make it better to identify in which episode various themes and other songs are played in the background during a battle or evolution. Is this category notable? → PikaTepig999 08:35, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

If it is notable, whom will have to ask to bring it in use? Or can i directly start editing the pages and adding this category? → PikaTepig999 09:57, 9 January 2016 (UTC)
I suspect a lot of episodes feature insert songs in the dub or in the Japanese version, making it not particularly notable and especially not helpful as one category. If I wanted to see which episodes played Mad-Paced Getter, a category of episodes with songs wouldn't cut it. I would recommend making lists of episodes in which a given insert song is played in your userspace (both dub and Japanese), and then bring it up again. --Abcboy (talk) 18:45, 9 January 2016 (UTC)
Okay, I'll make the page in a few days, and then show it to you. → PikaTepig999 09:05, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
Is this okay? → PikaTepig999 11:36, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
The layout looks fine; all you need to do is list the remaininh episodes and include the Japanese insert songs. --Abcboy (talk) 13:31, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your help, I'm gonna proceed with completing the page. → PikaTepig999 06:33, 15 January 2016 (UTC)

So far, I've added a lot of episodes to that page, and I was wondering one thing: Would it be okay to include the episodes in which instrumental versions of the songs were used? → PikaTepig999 10:22, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

For now, just add it to your list with "(instrumental)" or something like that. --Abcboy (talk) 13:34, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I was gonna add a suffix like that only. Also, should I include suffixes like "(raw only)" or "(dub only)" ?? → PikaTepig999 06:55, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
I think that's fine. For some of the songs, it's kind of obvious, like the dub openings will only be in the dub, and most of the Japanese insert songs get replaced in the dub, but noting it is preferred to being unclear. --Abcboy (talk) 11:08, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

Glalie trivia

In the interests of not edit warring, would you—or someone on staff—like to judge whether this is notable or not? Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:56, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

Pokémon 20th Anniversary

Do you think it would be prudent to get a list of the various merchandise being offered? I'm sure it can be done in table form as most (read: pretty much all) Mythicals in the promotion are getting a trading card set, a plushie, and some kind of Poké Ball with a figurine inside. I wouldn't be surprised if Volcanion appears somewhere during the promotion, too; surely it gets a Nintendo Network drop somewhere, probably during a serial code release. CycloneGU (talk) 20:25, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

I think adding such a list would be fine. Some of the images were uploaded for Bulbanews previously, so there's no need to reupload them. Also, welcome to the staff! --Abcboy (talk) 20:34, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
Thanks! I'll take a look and see what images are there and what is missing, maybe a few more can be uploaded (I presume they are fair use). Doesn't hurt to have a gallery here on the page, I think. But first, gotta pick up a Diancie from someone; I am getting one of the Shiny Diancie events. CycloneGU (talk) 20:47, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

Permission to upload a file.

Hi, I just found out that a book cover was missing, and having that same book, I scanned it with the intend of uploading it to the wiki. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have access to the upload function. Any help is appreciated. MannedTooth (talk) 00:10, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

You have to be autoconfirmed on the Archives to upload files, which requires that your account be of a certain age and for you to have made a certain number of edits. However, for now you can just upload it to an external site, such as Dropbox or Google Drive, and post the link here for me to upload. --Abcboy (talk) 00:13, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
Okay ! Uploaded it to Imgur. 0vgINhq.jpg
That is to go in the publications section of Pokémon_Adventures_volume_1
Thank you very much! MannedTooth (talk) 00:22, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
It appears the volume is actually an omnibus volume and has already been uploaded. --Abcboy (talk) 01:14, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
You're right ! My apologies. MannedTooth (talk) 01:18, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

New template

Hi again, I would like to create a new template but I am struggling, I already have an idea of it's shape and components. Can you or someone help me out? MannedTooth (talk) 04:12, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Try looking at existing templates that are similar to what you want to create, and make a new section in the sandbox to preview what it looks like, and figure how it works. Once you think it looks good, save it and bring it up to a staff member. --Abcboy (talk) 04:27, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
I have managed to do a sketch of the template. It is to be used in the Pokémon Manga section but can also be used for movie and anime.
Basically I needed to names all the Pokémon that was in this chapter/movie/episode with the moves they used in that particular section/movie.
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Bulbapedia:Sandbox#Pokemons_and_moves_they_used
I wasn't able to make it better, I am struggling with the templates codes, I've been trying to learn for the past 2 hours.
I would need to make the moves a color each, for their type.
Any thoughts ? MannedTooth (talk) 05:32, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
I have brought your idea up with the rest of the staff. --Abcboy (talk) 17:16, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
I actually ended up making it better, take a look at it. How can I create it so that I can start using it and finally contributing to the wiki? :) I'm so happy at the idea of helping the site ! :) MannedTooth (talk) 20:30, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia link

Is there any difference between using the prefix wp and using the template wp and which one is preferred if any? I'm wondering because this user just used both in different sentences--Raltseye 15:48, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Use the link template. Both are functionally identical, but the link template should be used in most, if not all cases. --Abcboy (talk) 17:16, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
Okay, but then again why, if they are functualy the same? --Raltseye 18:03, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
Because it's a link template and Bulbapedia uses link templates. You could write Pikachu as Pikachu, but we use the link template because that's the style. --Abcboy (talk) 20:21, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Users without user talk

(I don't know who and when it must be added, but since you did that with me, I'll ask you.) Well, the question is, I have seen someone without a talkpage, andsince mine was made only a few hours after mine registering, and he is already 2 days a member, I thought I must say it. Is it OK? (the name of the user is Bouncepaw. Lokki (talk) 18:52, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and created the talk page BTW, but I'll let Abcboy further address this since it's his talk page. CycloneGU (talk) 18:57, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
As long as the user has made at least one edit so far, feel free to welcome them using {{subst:welcome}}. Users who haven't yet made an edit don't need to be welcomed until they do. There's no particular time to welcome new users, though obviously sooner rather than later is preferred. --Abcboy (talk) 19:11, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

Pokémon S07 in India

XY party screenshot for Party page

Hi, I'm messaging you because you were the last admin to edit the Party page.

I've captured a screenshot of the XY party screen using Homebrew Launcher/HANS. Not sure what to do about the vertical letterboxing; the 3DS's bottom screen is 80px less wide than the top screen. Angelsl (talk) 17:55, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

Please go to Kogoro, SnorlaxMonster, or Zesty Cactus on the Archives with the image and ask for permission to upload 3DS screencaps. They'll probably grant it after asking for a specific screencap just to make sure it's not stolen from another site. If you are unable to upload to the Archives, I will upload it for you once you have been given permission. --Abcboy (talk) 18:58, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

list of Russian Pokémon names

Hello is there anything more than just adding all the names to do on this page? --Raltseye 17:58, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

"Columns" and "Eggs" sections, like on List of Japanese Pokémon names, should be added. If there are any official romanizations that differ from the English name, a column for that may need to be added. --Abcboy (talk) 18:58, 5 February 2016 (UTC)
I have added a column section and I don't think there are any names for the eggs so I didn't add any. And there are no official romanizations as far as I know, and since all of these names are transcriptions of its english name, I highly doubt there will ever be since that would be unnecessary. --Raltseye 20:26, 5 February 2016 (UTC)
Surely Pokémon Eggs have appeared in some capacity in the anime or something? Just the normal Egg should be fine. --Abcboy (talk) 20:55, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

List of French and German Pokémon names

Speaking of lists, how come that these two pages do not utilize the Template:Lop/foreign? Should they be changed and can we tell BulbaBot to change them? --Raltseye 15:22, 8 February 2016 (UTC)

I have changed the pages to use the template. For future reference, Bulbabot is designed to do repetitive tasks over many pages, not on one or a few pages. Those are better done by hand in combination with a find and replace tool. --Abcboy (talk) 03:59, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

Hometown

Isn't a hometown the place where someone was born/grew up? MannedTooth (Talk) 02:58, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

The region of origin is mentioned in the infobox under region: "Hoenn (originally Unova)". That specifies that he was born in Unova, but we don't know where in Unova he was born. Some characters weren't born in a town but were still born in a known, specific location. The hometown should be a town or other specific location. --Abcboy (talk) 03:08, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

New template

I've made a new template that would make Pokémon pages slightly lighter.

User:MannedTooth/Template:LvEvo

It would replace the evolution sentence in the Pokémon pages.

MannedTooth (Talk) 19:24, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

First of all, there are many methods of evolution not covered. Second of all, the processing of a huge template covering all methods of evolution would be more than just loading that single sentence. A template is meant to save resources by taking large chunks of code and make it a single simple line; not replace one sentence on a page. CycloneGU (talk) 19:29, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
Well, I can easily make it so that it fits many (if not every) methods of evolution. MannedTooth (Talk) 20:15, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
The template is grossly unnecessary to start with. You want to replace one sentence in 721 articles with a template that will no doubt end up being confusing just to say that one simple sentence. You are trying to save a mere 10 bytes of text by implementing what will become at least a 2 KB processing template. Please do not do that. It's a waste of your time and ours. CycloneGU (talk) 20:20, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
Okay D: MannedTooth (Talk) 20:26, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Poke Mart Items Gen IV Template

Hey, since in ORAS, every mart sells the same thing no matter where the player is, I figured that it would be better to replace all the tables by a single template in those pages, since it's so much more heavier and if there's an error somewhere, you would need to replace it in every page. Not useful. MannedTooth (Talk) 00:19, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Due to the way templates are handled by the MediaWiki software, such a template would increase the post-expand include size by a significant amount. Because there are only about 20 Poké Marts in a given region, it seems unnecessary to standardize it to such an extent. --Abcboy (talk) 01:10, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
