Plot

Dot's filming of a new Nidothing stream goes off-script when she has to briefly leave the screen to help Tinkaton get a wire untangled from around her leg, during which Ditto transforms into a miniature version of Nidothing and takes Nidothing's place in the stream, only to accidentally knock over the camera just as the real Nidothing is about to come back. Ditto goes on to transform into various other things around the Brave Olivine, such as a bolt for Orla, a medicine jar for Mollie, a whisk for Murdock, and a glass of water for Ult, only to always transform back almost immediately; the crew writes off these incidents as Ditto playing pranks on them. Dot, meanwhile, is left dejected over what she thinks will be a black spot in Nidothing's history, but surprisingly, Liko suddenly runs in to inform Dot that "Mini Nidothing", as it has come to be called, has received a massively positive online reception from fans. When Ditto transforms into Nidothing again to confirm it being Mini Nidothing, everyone notes that it kind of looks like a squishy piece of bread. This reminds Murdock of a Bread Fest that Dot had mentioned, where an attending bakery had attracted lots of attention online after baking Nidothing breads, and recommends that she should attend it with Ditto. While having previously felt unsure about the idea, due to the huge amount of people at the event, Dot decides to do it. Liko feels overwhelmed by the idea of Nidothing and Mini Nidothing appearing together, much to the exasperation of Meowscarada. While Dot rehearses for Nidothing's appearance at the festival alongside her Pokémon and Ditto, with Liko observing from the side, Ditto gets amuses by various things happening around it, such as Ult and Sableye performing a Shadow Claw dance, Skeledirge's fire bird briefly looking like a snot ball, and Meowscarada covering Liko's eyes with its flower bombs; all of these amuse Ditto to the point of laughter, which always causes its Mini Nidothing transformation to become undone.

At the Bread Fest, Dot, dressed as Nidothing and accompanied by her friends, goes to meet the Tongri-La bakery manager Tongs, who'll be baking the Nidothing breads and hosting the appearance of Nidothing and Mini Nidothing at the festival. He's happy to see Nidothing appearing, but wonders where Mini Nidothing is, with Dot nervously explaining that it'll show up later. While waiting for Nidothing's performance to start at 3 o'clock, the group (with Dot changing back to her usual clothes) decide to tour the festival and see all the different kinds of bakery products it has to offer, being fascinated by everything they see. They decide to wait in line for some corone sweet bread, but the stall runs out of them before they can get any. A young boy, who had been looking forward to getting a Sandaconda chocolate corone, starts crying, so Ditto, feeling sorry for the boy and going unnoticed by anyone, transforms into one and is handed over to the boy. The group stops by to eat various bakery goods they've bought, but the sight of some Nidothing fans reminds Dot of her performance, so she decides to head out ahead of time to prepare, only for the group to finally notice that Ditto has disappeared. This prompts the group to start searching for Ditto, though with less than an hour left before the performance, Liko tells Dot to go ahead, promising to bring Ditto to her on time. Meanwhile, just when the boy is about to take a bite off his "corone", Ditto panics and transforms back before fleeing.

The group's search for Ditto is unexpectedly made all the more difficult when they realize that one stand is selling Ditto breads, making spotting the real one amongst all the breads made in its likeness a challenge. Just as Liko starts to wonder if Ditto has wandered off because it found a place it likes better than the Brave Olivine, the group is altered by a scream. Rushing to the source, they find a baker who explains that her oven broke, so she had tried to bake her Voltorb pizza in a little "oven" nearby that turned out to be Ditto, alarming her when it suddenly transformed back. Unfortunately, though, everything happened so suddenly that she doesn't know which way Ditto went. Now knowing that Ditto is transforming into things, Roy gets an idea. Just minutes before 3 o'clock, the group starts performing the same things that had made Ditto laugh aboard the Brave Olivine, knowing that laughter will cause it to expose itself. Sure enough, witnessing their tomfoolery causes Ditto, transformed into a pair of trash tongs, to change back to normal and reveal itself, allowing Meowscarada to retrieve it. The group rushes to Nidothing's performance, but it's 3 o'clock already by the time they arrive, and Nidothing has already started performing. Dot desperately tries to maintain the audience's interest when they start to notice the absence of Mini Nidothing by attempting to redirect their attention to a nearly finished batch of Nidothing bread. When the crowd still questions why Mini Nidothing is not there, Dot's Pokémon manage to entertain the crowd long enough for Dot to avoid having to answer the question, the Nidothing breads to finish being baked, and Ditto, transformed into Mini Nidothing, to finally enter the stage, allowing the performance to begin on earnest. Watching Ditto perform, Roy comes to realize that Ditto's earlier "pranks" weren't pranks at all, but its attempts at making sad or troubled people happy.

That evening, the Rising Volt Tacklers celebrate Dot's success at the Bread Fest with a bunch of Nidothing and Mini Nidothing breads that Dot had received as souvenirs from Tongs, with Dot thanking Ditto and her Pokémon for their help. Liko, however, finds the Nidothing breads so cute that she refuses to eat hers. When Ult offers to eat it instead, Liko quickly brings it further away from him, only for Meowscarada to start nibbling on it, much to Liko's alarm.
