Dance move
(Redirected from Dance moves)

A dance move (Japanese: 踊り技 dance move) is any move that is based on dancing. Dance moves have some unique properties and effects. The mechanic was introduced in Generation VI.
Dance moves like Swords Dance have existed since Generation I, but in Pokémon Sun and Moon, dancing became a mechanic.
In the games
In the core series games, dance moves have the following effects:
- Whenever another Pokémon uses a dance move, a Pokémon with Dancer will immediately use that move as well.
In Pokémon X and Y (prior to the introduction of the Ability Dancer), Tierno will request to see a Pokémon that knows a dance move once per day during the post-game in Coumarine City.

Trivia

- Clangorous Soul and Aqua Step are the only moves classified as dance moves that do not have "Dance" in their names.
- Aqua Step is the only one that is a physical move.
