The Bright Powder (Japanese: ひかりのこなLight Powder), formatted BrightPowder prior to Generation VI, is a type of held item introduced in Generation II that decreases the opponent's accuracy.
Moves targeted at the holder have an additional 20/256 (~8%) chance to miss, including for one-hit knockout moves.
Generation III onward
Bright Powder now reduces accuracy of moves targeting the holder by 10% of what their accuracy would be otherwise. Bright Powder no longer affects one-hit knockout moves.
In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, when pluralized or prefixed with the indefinite article, this item's name is rendered with a lowercase 'p' ("Brightpowders" and "a Brightpowder", respectively). In Pokémon Platinum and Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, both of these instances are corrected to display with a capital 'P' ("BrightPowders" and "a BrightPowder", respectively), matching how the item's name would normally be rendered.
