Effect

If a Pokémon holding a Big Root uses a draining move or Strength Sap, it restores 30% more HP than it otherwise would. Additionally, a Pokémon holding a Big Root regains 30% more HP from Leech Seed, Ingrain and Aqua Ring. In Generation V onwards, the factor is 5324/4096.

The Big Root also increases the damage taken by the holder from Liquid Ooze.

  • The description of the Big Root states that it "boosts the power of HP-stealing moves" when it actually only increases the amount of HP the user restores without increasing the damage done to the target. The description was not corrected until Pokémon Sun and Moon.
