To My Best Friend (Japanese: ぼくのベストフレンドへ Boku no Besuto Furendo e) is the tenth Japanese ending theme of the original series. It debuted in EP173, replacing Exciting Pokémon Relay. It was replaced by Face Forward Team Rocket! in EP192.
The full version of the song is used as the ending theme to Mewtwo Returns using the original animation along with clips from the special.

Synopsis
Ash and Pikachu walk across a field at dusk. They stop momentarily to watch the sunset, then turn and smile at each other before continuing on their way. Pikachu jumps onto Ash's back and begins riding on his head. As they pass by a tree they pause to watch a flock of Pidgey fly overhead before walking off into the sunset.
