Lucy's Seviper (Japanese: アザミのハブネーク Azami's Habunake) is Pike Queen Lucy's main Pokémon in the anime, games and manga.

History

The red rose projectile modeled after her Seviper

After Lucy threw a red rose projectile at Team Rocket's balloon, she sent out Seviper to battle them while Jessie sent out a Seviper of her own. Barbara belittled Jessie by pointing out that her Seviper is weaker than Lucy's. Both Seviper began with a clash of their Poison Tails. True to Barbara's word and confidence, Lucy's Seviper's Poison Tail  deflected Jessie's Seviper's Poison Tail and sent it crashing to Team Rocket. Seviper finished them off by revealing an ability to use Flamethrower, which sent Team Rocket blasting off.

During Ash's match with Lucy in the Battle Pike, Lucy sent out Seviper as her first choice and went up against Ash's Donphan. Seviper began by using Poison Tail to defend itself against Donphan's Take Down, in which both sides were evenly matched. Seviper then used Bite which was blocked by Donphan's Defense Curl/Rollout combination and then knocked Seviper back. Seviper was okay and dodged a second Rollout. It retaliates with Poison Tail which sends Donphan flying back. As Donphan jumped in the air and went for a Take Down, Lucy waited for the right time and told Seviper to use Flamethrower at the exact moment. Donphan begins to use Hyper Beam in which Seviper tried stopping it from doing so by slamming a Poison Tail at it. Even though Donphan was successful with the Hyper Beam, Seviper prevented itself from getting hit by splashing water with Poison Tail to create a veil of smoke. It used Flamethrower immediately from the smoke in which Donphan dodged and went for Rollout. Seviper redirects Flamethrower which managed to make direct contact with Donphan, burning it, and turned Donphan into a ball of fire. Seviper tried to use Poison Tail but Donphan catapulted itself up by hitting a rock and slammed into Seviper, knocking it out.

Personality and characteristics

Lucy appears to trust Seviper very well out of her other Pokémon, as seen when she owned several things in the shape of Seviper such as the Battle Pike and her red rose projectile. This was also shown during battle when Lucy closed her eyes at one point and knew by heart what attacks the opponent was going to throw at it. Barbara even pointed out Seviper's strengths which were shown when it single-handedly took out Team Rocket, without any help.

Seviper in Pokémon Adventures

Lucy's Seviper is the most powerful Pokémon owned by Lucy in the Pokémon Adventures manga, which she first used in an exhibition tag battle with Palace Maven Spenser and his Crobat. Lucy later uses her in her battle against Emerald when he challenged her at the end of the Battle Pike. During their battle, Seviper was able to poison the Blissey Emerald borrowed from Crystal using its Poison Fang, which forces him to switch to Starmie. 

After losing her Shuckle and Milotic in the same battle, she uses Seviper again and defeats Emerald's Rapidash, leaving them both with one Pokémon. Blissey was able to withstand much abuse with its inherently high defense, but eventually lost ground and was beaten. As the other Brains were about to rejoice on Lucy's victory, Rapidash awoke and promptly defeated Seviper with its Overheat attack.

Later, Lucy uses Seviper against Guile Hideout alongside other Frontier Brains' Pokémon but lost.

In the Pokémon Battle Frontier manga

Lucy and her Seviper in the Pokémon Battle Frontier manga

Lucy's Seviper appears in The Predestined Battle!. It was first seen with its Trainer when she went up to Enta and had a conversation with him. Later, it battled with Enta's Milotic first where it managed to daze it with an unidentified attack. Afterwards, it faced off against his Zangoose after both sides were down to one Pokémon. Since both of them are natural enemies to each other, it was hard for Enta to have Zangoose to listen to him. However, Zangoose was finally able to listen to Enta after he jumped in the way of a Poison Tail attack launched by Seviper. With Zangoose and Enta in sync with each other, Zangoose was able to defeat Lucy's Seviper with Crush Claw.
