Evolution
Trivia
Kangaskhan does not evolve to or from any Pokémon, leading to controversy over the fact that it hatches with a baby already in its pouch in the games. However, for reasons unexplained some glitch Pokémon in Pokémon Red and Blue (most often 'M) sometimes evolve into Kangaskhan.
Origin
Kangaskhan is based on a kangaroo.
Name origin
Kangaskhan's name is a combination of kangaroo and Genghis Khan, founder of the Mongol Empire (possibly how its Pokedex data refers to how violently protective it is of its child). The garū in its Japanese name appears may be from カンガルー kangarū, kangaroo. The German name is a combination of kangaroo and Mama.
