While your way of doing things may be different, two requests I would like to make for the walkthroughs for the Sinnoh games which are simple even if you have to slightly redesign or reword them are a. To keep the information on the Pokémon necessary for completing the sight data for getting the National Pokédex (not counting Riolu or Manaphy on the Diamond and Pearl guide because that was not my work). My other request is to keep the information regarding the legendary golems as well as the keeping the links to the guide I made for catching them in Platinum (including the link in the Snowpoint Temple coverage for all three games) only because those three cannot be caught by normal means in Generation IV (same as Ho-oh and Lugia in Generation III). Those two things are the only personal requests I would like to make to you for those guides, the rest you can change regardless of the difference in opinion. -[[User:Tyler53841|Tyler53841]] ([[User talk:Tyler53841|talk]]) 13:50, 23 August 2016 (UTC) | While your way of doing things may be different, two requests I would like to make for the walkthroughs for the Sinnoh games which are simple even if you have to slightly redesign or reword them are a. Just to let you know, the "bad formatting" tag is from when you have two <nowiki><br></nowiki> tags in a row. Thought I should tell you in case you didn't know, because it took someone else telling me before I realized that's why some of my edits were getting marked as "bad formatting". -[[User:Minibug|Minibug]] ([[User talk:Minibug|talk]]) 21:36, 30 December 2023 (UTC) |

Standardizing "Available Pokémon"I'd like to update the formatting of the walkthroughs that have been done, but I've noticed for games that have three versions there doesn't seem to be much consistency in which Pokémon are included in the walkthroughs. In some cases, only the Pokémon found in the game(s) that the walkthrough focuses on are included, while in other cases the Pokémon from other version(s) are included. I figure there should be some sort of standard for these and I see three possible ways of going about it:
I think that the last option would be best because it presents only the necessary information for the walkthrough. The first and second options contain information that is irrelevant and if a reader is interested in the available Pokémon for other games they can simply click a link in the walkthrough to go to the page of the location they are curious about. Additionally, the second option may be misleading if the reader assumes it is presenting all the information for the other game or games.--The Plausible Farfetch'd 07:21, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
Question
Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky WalkthroughSince there is some stuff going on Post-Story, should we merge that together with the final chapter, or should we make separate articles? -- ☆YoshisWorld☆ 22:36, 7 August (UTC) Pokémon Rumble Blast Walkthrough?I don't own the game yet (combination of not being out in my country and shipping issues) but should I make notes and start constructing a walkthrough when I do get it? It is completely unlisted on To-do so I thought I'd ask. Happy to help, Epsilonexus 16:39, 21 November 2011 (UTC) Is it just me, or...The total number of completed walkthroughs is one out.--Chalkwriter 17:44, 14 December 2011 (UTC) Platinum walkthroughHello KCorp4000, I'm a new user here on Bulbapedia, Deruffy, and I think your walkthroughs are fantastic and I wanted to know how often do you udpate your walkthroughs, more specifically the Platinum walkthrough? PS.: I'm brazilian, so my English may be a little bad.--Deruffy 04:31, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
Walkthrough editingHey KCorp4000, it's Deruffy again, I edited some pages like Pidgeot's Name Origin with fonts of other Pokémon sites and I like to know if I could edit your walkthroughs with parts that I elaborated from other sites such as Psypokes.--Deruffy 02:21, 5 February 2012 (UTC) Walkthrough SummariesFirst off, I'm brand new to wiki editing (I just had to get involved with making Pokémon walkthroughs), so I won't pretend to be an expert and I will gladly take any constructive criticism. Now, I've noticed on the walkthroughs so far that each page (section) contains sub-sections based on geographic location, e.g. Littleroot Town, then Route 101, then Oldale Town, etc. However, I think it would improve the usability of the walkthroughs to begin each page/section with a short "to-do list" as a sort of advanced organizer, and dividing up the page according to that list. Geographic location divisions would still appear much as they do, but as bold subheadings in each "to-do" section instead. To-Do list items could include obtaining any necessary items, getting important phone numbers, fighting rivals, defeating gym leaders, capturing specific Pokémon for HM use, etc. If you'd like to see an example, I can create one. I didn't make one yet since, as I said, I'm brand new to this, and I wasn't sure if that would be too presumptuous.
On another note Diamond and Pearl are complete. Also I have some ideas for new sections for Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver that have some value but will require some work to put together especially the HeartGold and SoulSilver one. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:08, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
First on Platinum a separate section for catching the Regi Trio needs to be made. Also here are two important facts, firstly they can only be challenged and caught after defeating the Elite Four, and secondly if the special event Regigigas was transferred to another Gen. IV handheld game and then that Platinum game is deleted and restarted then they could be could be collected again (which is why I have two copies of that game for that purpose). Now for HeartGold and SoulSilver a trainer guide for regular trainers that can be re-battled can be set up. Since I decoded a long time ago and added information to this site that by defeating the Elite Four and later collecting all 16 badges it can be used to powerup their teams. There are 4 phases 1. first battle, 2. First rechallenge, 3. second rechallenge (requires the defeat of the Elite Four) 4. third rechallenge (requires all 16 badges). Also each phase must be completed once. Now my plan is to use a graph or something together with their team data, levels, and money earned after each battle. While the first phase doesn't need any help for collecting data since it is already posted, the 3 rematch phases do and so either of us can collect and save the data which will require some working on, especially the Kanto trainers need extra caution since the First rechallenge can only be done once. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:31, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
One final note is check out the trivia on Milotic's page on how to evolve it from Feebas for those versions (Also so you know is that I was the one quickly discovered the drawbacks after my first failed attempt to evolve Feebas due to overfeeding it with Poffins in Platinum and confirmed the mistake after my second attempt worked by using no Poffins to help this time). -Tyler53841 (talk) 17:51, 19 July 2012 (UTC) Platinum WalkthroughAlready underway and check back frequently to see my progress as I am working very hard to put all this together. -Tyler53841 (talk) 17:11, 22 July 2012 (UTC) A new problem is that unlike us the other contributors are not putting their Pokémon to not include Pokémon that are found in the third version games from the main games, i.e. Marking down Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire in the Ruby and Sapphire guide only or Emerald in the Emerald Guide only. Could you help by adding a rule about this in for Project Walkthrough if you want. -Tyler53841 (talk) 01:01, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Breeder CharactersJust to make sure you're up to date, apparently certain Breeder-type trainers on certain routes can be re-challenged in Black 2 and White 2 by leaving the route and then letting them spot your character again. There teams and prize money are usually the same. The places I have identified them so far are Route 4 and 6 and Lostlorn Forest. -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:41, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
Black 2 and White 2 walkthrough.Few places, such as Route 4 or Reversal Mountain are going to give you some trouble as they're different between version and the way you will find in one version might not work in the other. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 13:43, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Opelucid CityFollowing your Gym battle against Drayden, and then your battle against Team Plasma, while the city remains frozen with Ice for the remainder of the main game check out the neighboring routes Routes 9 and 11 as they will also be partly frozen and could use some coverage. -Tyler53841 (talk) 14:57, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Pokémon Dream RadarCheck out the improvements to that page, it should help with the walkthrough. Since I got a 3DS for Christmas, I've learned all sorts of things about it that can help. -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:33, 10 January 2013 (UTC) Platinum WalkthroughPretty much after 4 days of hard work I completed the main coverage of Pokémon Platinum. There is still a few more adjustments including some of the coverage for a few legendaries but I don't need to tackle it right away. Also for the Black 2 and White 2 guide I was thinking of making a special page for a mini-walkthrough on the Dream Radar which includes the coverage for getting the Reveal Glass. What do you think of this? -Tyler53841 (talk) 04:23, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Pokémon Conquest WalkthroughI wanted to add a Conquest Walkthrough which would be a guide on how to do things like how to get through the main story or how to get all the Legendary Pokémon, and tips like that meowth can increase the amount of gold obtained in the mines and witch Eevee evolution to chose first. The guide would be good also because most/all of the stuff I just said I haven't seen anywhere else on Bulbapedia so having a guide on getting the Legendary Pokémon and how to get other rare Pokémon would be good.TrainerX493 (talk) 22:44, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
RenamePer your request, your account has been renamed from KCorp4000 to TylerGray. You will need to re-merge your Bulbapedia, Bulbanews, and Bulbagarden Archives accounts via the account manager, which can be accessed via your preferences. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 03:24, 1 October 2013 (UTC) XY walkthrough.Never refer to player by NPC's name, it is confusing. Also, the switches were a bit of overkill, at least in my opinion. Eridanus (talk) 16:12, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Hello ^_Just a friendly question. I would like to know your personal opinion about which main series Nintendo DS Pokemon game/s is/are the best (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, Heartgold/Soulsilver, Black/White, Black2/White2) and which would you recommend people to spend the most time playing? For any reasons, like the most robust/vast postgame for example? I currently can't decide which should I give the most attention to. Some people have like hundreds of hours spent into any of the games, but I'm yet to play long-term a Pokemon game and would like to, too bad I'm indecisive. I liked Platinum and Heartgold, not sure how much and which better, but both are very good games and can see myself replaying them. I have started to play White and White 2 but am yet to finish them both, not sure why, I guess I'm not that sentimentally attached to them as to Gen IV. because the anime series, Best Wishes ruined some things and kinda put me off. and the depression and apathy kinda carried over to the games, ruining the full enjoyment from them I could have... Thank you a lot. Also just curious about your walktrough project, what there is left to be updated for HG/SS? They look complete and fine to me, unless you already have done so :)--Elveonora (talk) 17:53, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
/GymtagSo, while trying to change some templates across the
X and YNice work with doing the walkthrough, I will at least help with adding in any additions to provide additional help. Check out my recent update on the Reflection Cave part. An Idea I just had is if you want you can create a special page for locating these special items like the Reveal Glass, DNA Splicers, and other stuff for these non-regional Pokémon for X and Y and you can move my Reveal Glass information over to there. -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:44, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
In other news thanks to my receiving the Grand Duke rank at the Battle Chateau yesterday, I was able to update the coverage for the Battle Chateau today, primarily to bring the coverage up to date on rank promotions, but also the difference of achieving the final rank which is done differently from the rest. -Tyler53841 (talk) 14:32, 16 May 2014 (UTC) Emerald Regional Pokedex WalkthroughI've been using the Gen III walkthroughs, and noticed that, while they're good at helping you complete the game and get all items, they aren't too helpful on catching non-ledgendary pokemon. I have all of the Gen III games, and would like to create a walkthrough on completing the Emerald Regional Pokedex, which I have done before. How would I get started on this? - unsigned comment from KodakKid3 (talk • contribs)
ProblemWhy are there userspaced templates on the walkthroughs? Userspaced templates should not be used anywhere other than the userspace. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 11:38, 1 June 2014 (UTC) Bug Catching ContestI improved the coverage of the Bug Catching Contest for the Post National Pokédex for the HeartGold and SoulSilver guide with primarily a new template and a minor revision of the summary to make it more accurate. Check it out. -Tyler53841 (talk) 17:35, 22 June 2014 (UTC) Pages for deletionHey, I noticed you marked a few walkthrough pages for deletion a few days ago. For future reference, if the information has been moved somewhere else, could you please link to it in the deletion reason on the edit summary so the administrators can track it down a little more easily? Apologies if you did and I missed something though. --Pokemaster97 02:52, 4 September 2014 (UTC) Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire WalkthroughNice work on starting the walkthrough. Anyway check out the updates for the ORAS page on the changes as some of these changes will help with planning things out for the walkthrough, such as the changes to the Sootopolis Gym Puzzle since the ice block puzzle can now be handled diagonally because of the 3DS' circle pad. -Tyler53841 (talk) 18:22, 18 December 2014 (UTC) HiyaWhat are your thoughts on notating available rematches as they become available during gameplay? For instance, I created a working template where I'm getting the data for other use, but you can also pull those that are available after each badge and note them in the walkthrough as well if you so desire. This is an ongoing project for me, and I'm about to head back and check the rematches after having obtained the Knuckle Badge, a trek that is usually not taken because Trainers usually head straight to Slateport and don't return to the beginning area until they wrap around Route 115 - or, nowadays, when the rival offers to walk with the player after completing the Meteor Falls events. There may be no rematches from that, but I will be listing them at the above-linked page if you're interested. CycloneGU (talk) 00:34, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
Eon TicketI recently got ahold of an Eon Ticket on my Omega Ruby (which I also transmitted to my Alpha Sapphire copy). I was thinking that like what I did in the past with the Regi Trio in Platinum is create a separate page for dealing with the other Eon Pokémon (only because it is not a regular gameplay event and is easy to deal with). What do you think of my idea? -Tyler53841 (talk) 00:31, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Nameless Cavern SwitchesSince you added them, I'm taking the courtesy of letting you know that they are broken. I arrived at 5:30 PM UTC/12:30 PM EDT, both times clearly well within Mesprit's time period, and the table was lighting up Azelf. I did some test edits to check on what would happen if I removed the correct one for the time period (Mesprit), and suddenly AQzelf was no longer lit up. Meanwhile, when I removed Azelf's switch, Mesprit suddenly lit up correctly. This is enough to suggest that the switch setup was flawed and needs to be rethought. However, if it can't be set based on a user's time zone (in the settings) instead of relying on UTC, I would suggest that it should not be there at all; computer users have access to a clock just a quick glance away, and it's better not to allow the chance for misleading information in the table; phone users might have to look around the room or go to the next room, but again, there's no issue with getting a little exercise to check the time (it's been reported in the news that one should be standing for two minutes for every half hour sitting, anyway). CycloneGU (talk) 17:46, 26 January 2015 (UTC) Talk archivesIt seems you have removed your links to your talk page archives. Perhaps you are aware, but I just wanted to give you a reminder that they're supposed to be linked somewhere on your talk page. Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:47, 12 April 2015 (UTC) Nice WorkNice work on the recent addition to the Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire guide. Also check out the minor addition I did to your Southern Island. Just a little something to provide coverage on Latios and Latias (by reversing the order I did for the Eon Ticket walkthrough and making the appropriate adjustments) and provide a minor link to the Eon Ticket walkthrough (which is something I also did for the Regi's in the Platinum walkthrough with a minor summary). -Tyler53841 (talk) 18:56, 12 July 2015 (UTC) ORAS Guide Missing One key thingLooking over the hidden area of the main walkthrough I did notice that the guide lacked a section for coverage on an Elite Four rematch which should be done to both provide coverage and also for the information on the Sinnoh Starters. -Tyler53841 (talk) 19:40, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
Take a lookCheck out some of the edits I did to help out since the Johto Starters can be found at the beginning of the Delta Episode, you just need to know the trick to do it. -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:56, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
Got several sections done already, but once I am done you could proof-read and make any changes. I am also thinking you could downsize the coverage in the main walkthrough if you want, but only after I am done since I only have the Sinnoh Mascots and Unova Legendaries left to deal with, which I'll do after I get home later. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:42, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
FinishedTook care of the Elite Four rematch coverage, the removal of the material from Part 20. and the moving of the Sinnoh Starter material for ORAS, so all that is needed is proofreading/corrections when you have the time and final choices. Just a few notes for you to know. A. For the Soaring Legendaries guide, for the special items related to certain legendaries I put them at the end of their respective group to display knowledge of where to look for them. B. As mentioned above for the Elite Four rematch coverage, only the new Pokémon needed to be directly mentioned which helped shorten the coverage. C. Since the new material is not as long as expected I am not going to move the Battle Resort coverage for now at least, you can make the final choice on that. Also I am thinking that with a collapsible template, the move tutor moves could be place in the Battle Resort coverage. But in any case since I handled the hard work it should make your task much easier. -Tyler53841 (talk) 21:33, 5 June 2016 (UTC) If you wantOne Idea I had a while back is that if you ever want to break up the coverage I did for the remaining legendaries for the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire walkthrough, go right ahead which is about seven sections worth. PS. I also took care of the coverage on how to get the Mega Stones for the other two Hoenn Starter Pokémon which also takes place immediately after the Groudon/Kyogre event. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:47, 22 August 2016 (UTC) WarningBe careful when trying to make your Hoenn guides the same for the areas that appear in all versions as I had to clean up a few errors for things that did not exist in Generation III (such as collecting Heart Scales with Rock Smash did not exist until Heart Gold and Soul Silver because collecting items from smashed rocks was introduced in those games). -Tyler53841 (talk) 19:08, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
Two RequestsWhile your way of doing things may be different, two requests I would like to make for the walkthroughs for the Sinnoh games which are simple even if you have to slightly redesign or reword them are a. -Tyler53841 (talk) 13:50, 23 August 2016 (UTC) Bad FormattingJust to let you know, the "bad formatting" tag is from when you have two <br> tags in a row. Thought I should tell you in case you didn't know, because it took someone else telling me before I realized that's why some of my edits were getting marked as "bad formatting". -Minibug (talk) 21:36, 30 December 2023 (UTC) |
