The [[Mt. Moon]] caves have decreased in size over the years, ending up as a single tunnel connecting {{rt|3|Kanto}} and {{rt|4|Kanto}}. <br> As soon as you set foot into the cave, {{ga|Silver|your rival}} shows up to challenge you to a battle.

Route 3 is a rugged route that links Pewter City to Mt. Moon in the east. Beat up the few Trainers here and enter the cave.

Mt. Moon Square is located on the heights of the mountain, where few people ever venture. There is a small shop here that caters to weary travelers, selling health-restoring and battle-ending items.

Clefairy Dance

At 8pm on Monday nights, two Clefairy appear in the field and start dancing around a large rock. When you enter the field, they get startled and run away, leaving the rock behind. If you break it with Rock Smash, you can find a Moon Stone hidden underneath. The two Clefairy return to worship the moon every week.

Enter the south side of the cave to reach the exit.

Route 4

Route 4

Route 4 returns you to Cerulean City. Grab the Ultra Ball and the HP Up, then fly back to Pewter City and head south.
