Template:Infobox town Pacifidlog Town (Japanese: キナギタウン Kinagi Town) is one of the the sixteen cities of Hoenn, the land in which the games Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Pokémon Emerald take place. It is located east of Slateport and the Sealed Chamber and west of the Sky Pillar and Mirage Island. The town's motto is "Where the morning sun smiles upon the waters".
Pacifidlog is a town built on wooden rafts and logs that float on top of a Corsola colony. One important citizen of Pacifidlog is an old man that looks for Mirage Island, and will shout out in excitement on days that it appears.
There's a Gentleman in a house who will give out TMs for Frustration or Return every seven days depending on the Happiness of the party Pokémon.
There's a woman who will trade a Corsola for a Bellossom. In Pokémon Emerald, a man will trade a Horsea for a Bagon.
The folks of Pacifidlog all fish and dive as part of the lifestyle. The ancestors of the people in Pacifidlog Town were said to have been born on boats then lived and died aboard them. According to legend, they lived that way because they were searching for something.
There's a legend in Pacifidlog Town of a flying Dragon Pokémon that never needs to rest. This could refer to Latios, Latias, or Rayquaza.
They also tell legends of sealed-away Pokémon that represent the powers of Ice, Rock, and Steel, which refer to Regice, Regirock, and Registeel.
East of Pacifidlog Town is Route 131. West is Route 132 and Slateport City beyond that. The sea between Pacifidlog and Slateport has a fast running tide that sweeps up Surfing Pokémon and trainers to strange places.
Curiously enough, Pacifidlog Town is one of the few communities of Hoenn that lacks a Poké Mart. It is also the only town in the series that does not have to be visited or even passed through to advance in the game.
In the anime
In the Pokémon anime, Pacifidlog Town is a more traditional island, and has a Contest House.
Demographics
Pacifidlog Town's population in the games is only 15, a very low number by Hoenn standards. This is obviously because of its highly remote location. In fact, Pacifidlog Town is often overlooked by trainers until after the Elite Four have been beaten.
Name origin
Pacifidlog comes from pacific, one of the real world's major oceans, and log, which is what the walkways of the city are made of.
