Sudowoodo (Japanese: ウソッキー Usokkie; German: Mogelbaum; French: Simularbre, Korean: 꼬지모 Kkojimo) is a Rock-type Pokémon. It is found in the Generation II games blocking the paths between Violet City, Goldenrod City, and Ecruteak City until a player sprays water on it from a Squirtbottle. It is also available in Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon Emerald.
Sudowoodo comes with one of two Abilities: Sturdy, which prevents One-Hit KO attacks from having any effect; or Rock Head, which eliminates the recoil from certain attacks -- for instance, Double-Edge.
Sudowoodo evolves from Bonsly in Generation IV.
Name origin
Sudowoodo's name may be a combination of pseudo, false, and wood. Its Japanese name could be a misspelling of 嘘つき usotsuki, fibber. It could also be a combination of 嘘 uso, false, and 木 ki, wood.
It may be based on petrified wood, plants which have become fossilized over time.
