Start of an Adventure (Korean: 모험의 시작 Moheomui Sijak) is the first opening theme for the Korean dub of the original series. The opening animation uses footage from the first Japanese opening, Aim to Be a Pokémon Master. The full version of this song was used as the opening theme for the Korean dub of Mewtwo Strikes Back.
The full version can also be found on the CDs Pocket Monsters OST (Vol. 1), where it is titled Pocket Monsters (Korean: 포켓몬스터 Pocket Monsters), Pocket Monsters OST (Vol. 2), and Pocket Monsters AG (New & Best). There is also a version of the song with female vocals, sung by Jang Sukhui, Jeong Yeojin and Kim Munseon.
An arrangement of the original song titled Start of an Adventure (2017 ver.) (Korean: 모험의 시작 (2017 ver.) Moheomui Sijak (2017 ver.)) replaced ALOLA! as the second opening theme for the Korean dub of Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon. The full version of this arrangement, titled Start of an Adventure (20th Anniversary Ver.) (Korean: 모험의 시작 (20th Anniversary Ver.) Moheomui Sijak (20th Anniversary Ver.)) is used as the opening theme for the Korean dub of I Choose You!. This arrangement was later used as the opening theme for the Korean dubs of Pocket Monsters: Aim to Be a Pokémon Master, and EP260 to EP274 (released as Pokémon: Stories from the Johto Region - The Final Chapter and Pocket Monsters Episode: Gold & Silver: Stories from Mt. Silver).

Synopsis
The type symbols appear in a circle, and the series logo appears on the screen. Then it shows Ash flipping his hat backwards and throwing a Poké Ball to the camera. The camera then runs across Charizard while using Flamethrower, Blastoise while using Hydro Pump and Venusaur; before Pikachu runs between Ash and a Lass and jumps.
The next scene shows a close-up of Ash looking up towards the light and then Ash and his friends gathered around a campfire. Next, Ash and Pikachu are looking at Pallet Town and then cuts to a scene with them walking.
After that, Ash and Pikachu are shown sitting on a Lapras as they watch a Gyarados jumping out of the water, and a Dragonair jumping in. Ash then throws a Poké Ball with a Pidgeot inside and the Pokémon then begins battling with a Fearow. Then, Ash and Pikachu are seen running with an Arcanine and a Rapidash. The latter Pokémon jumps up, and Zapdos and Articuno are seen flying in the sky. The next scene shows Ash commanding Pikachu to use a move, and then cuts to Pikachu running. Then, there is a short clip of Ash and Pikachu jumping with joy which then cuts quickly to Ash alone in a stadium. Ash holds a Poké Ball up and his friends appear beside him.
