Character limitations

  • Character limitations: Some characters cannot be used in article titles due to MediaWiki restrictions or technical issues. The {{Wrongtitle}} template should be used at the top of the page when the title is inaccurate due to these limitations. (See Help:Character limitations for more details on these restrictions and how to handle them.)
    • {{DISPLAYTITLE}} can be used to apply specific formatting such as italics. Place {{italics}} on the page to apply italics or {{lowercase}} to make the first letter display as lowercase instead.
    • If the official title contains uncommon characters, create redirects from more common substitutes to aid searching, but avoid unnecessary redirects where MediaWiki already handles equivalent characters.
    • Curly quotation marks (‘ ’ “ ”) should not be used in article titles, even if they are used in official materials. The standard apostrophe ' and quotation mark " characters should be used instead.
    • With regards to romanized Japanese titles, omit macrons ¯ and apostrophes ' in the title (but create redirects from the accurate romanization if appropriate).

Ash History

History

Main article: Ash Ketchum/History

Ash grew up in Pallet Town with his mother, Delia, while his father was usually away traveling. As a child, Ash experienced a pivotal moment when he helped shelter wild Pokémon from the rain, sparking his dream of becoming a Pokémon Trainer.

Beginning his journey at age 10, Ash started out as a determined but inexperienced Pokémon Trainer, with dreams of one day becoming a Pokémon Master. After waking up late and being given a stubborn Pikachu, he quickly formed a strong bond with it, setting the stage for their lifelong partnership. Traveling through many regions, Ash competed in several Pokémon Leagues, made many friends such as Misty and Brock, and caught and befriended a wide variety of Pokémon. He also faced against several rivals, such as his childhood friend Gary Oak, competing to catch Pokémon and earn Gym Badges.

Ash and his friends frequently encountered the Team Rocket trio, consisting of Jessie, James, and Meowth, members of Team Rocket who desired to steal Ash's Pikachu. Ash struggled through many of his early Gym battles and received several badges out of gratitude or pity rather than through victory. Ash also faced a number of villainous organizations, usually thwarting their plans with the help of his friends, often saving the region or even the world from disaster in the process.

During his travels, Ash advanced to the Top 16 in the Indigo Plateau Conference in Kanto, won the Orange League at the Orange Islands, made the Top 8 at the Silver Conference in Johto, worked up to the Top 8 in the Ever Grande Conference in Hoenn, advanced to the Top 4 of the Lily of the Valley Conference in Sinnoh, made it to the Top 8 of the Vertress Conference in Unova, was the runner-up in the Lumiose Conference in Kalos, became the first Champion of Alola in the Manalo Conference, and worked his way up the ranks in the World Coronation Series, ultimately winning the Masters Eight Tournament and achieving the title of Monarch, identifying him as the strongest Trainer in the world. Ash also took on the Battle Frontier in Kanto. There, Ash conquered the seven Frontier Brains but declined the opportunity to become one himself, choosing instead to continue his Pokémon journey. Ash also competed in several other tournaments, events, and competitions, as well as a few Pokémon Contests.

In Kalos, Ash trained with Professor Sycamore and Korrina to help him understand Mega Evolution. He also discovered the Bond Phenomenon with his Greninja. In Alola, Ash learned about Z-Moves and acquired several Z-Crystals. In Galar, Ash encountered Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon and learned about Dynamaxing. The combination of these battle transformations aided in Ash's victory at the Masters Eight Tournament.

After achieving the title of Monarch, Ash set off on a new journey, reuniting with and continuing his travels with Misty and Brock, helping Pokémon in need, before returning to Pallet Town. There, Ash reflected on his dream of becoming a Pokémon Master, realizing that true mastery involves befriending any Pokémon. He resolved to continue his journey, striving toward that goal.
