Marvel Scale (Japanese: ふしぎなうろこ Marvelous Scale) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Prior to Generation V, it was the signature Ability of Milotic.

Effect

In battle

While the Pokémon with this Ability has a non-volatile status condition, its Defense is increased by 50%.

Outside of battle

Marvel Scale has no effect outside of battle.

In Pokémon UNITE, Marvel Scale is Dratini's and Dragonair's Ability. It increases the user's Defense by 100 when afflicted by a status condition. Upon evolving into Dragonite, it becomes Multiscale.
