Increase Chance of Abnormal Condition
Passive Skill
Raises the chance of inflicting status conditions with the additional effects of moves.

Hostile Environment (Japanese: 異常確率上昇 Increase Chance of Abnormal Condition) is a family of skills in Pokémon Masters EX.

Effect

Hostile Environment increases the chance of inflicting the burn, freeze, poison or bad poison status conditions if the move has a secondary effect of causing these conditions. The skill can range from Hostile Environment 1 to Hostile Environment 9, with higher numbered skills resulting in a greater increase in the chance of inflicting these conditions. The chance is calculated according to the below formula.

OverallChance=MoveBaseChance×(1+(SkillRank×NumberOfPassives))

The chance of inflicting the status condition is reduced for moves which target more than one opponent. The overall chance is reduced to two-thirds per target if the move targets two Pokémon; while the overall chance is halved per target if the move targets three Pokémon.

Hostile Environment 10 is a skill only available on certain opponents. It does not take into account the above formula and will guarantee inflicting a status condition when the move hits.
