Plot

Diana drives through the night to visit the Rising Volt Tacklers and arrives earlier than expected, deciding to nap in her cramped car. As she falls asleep, a Pokémon silently floats up beside her. Meanwhile, as Liko and Dot wait for the former's grandmother to arrive, Murdock is cooking in the kitchen. Lycanroc senses something nearby, yet upon closer inspection, finds nothing. In the captain's deck, Orla is teaching Roy some maintenance while the unknown Pokémon from earlier watches Kilowattrel, Lucario, and Captain Pikachu assist Skeledirge's fire bird. Just as Cap senses the same presence as Lycanroc, it vanishes just as quickly. While Roy fetches his friends for dinner, Orla joins the rest in the meeting room, discovering a plate of mochi on the table. Assuming it came from Diana, they eat the mochi without suspicion, but Orla begins to act up.

The younger members arrive and find the meeting room deserted with a broken plate and a fallen chair. Dot investigates the kitchen, where she finds Murdock's abandoned Rotom Phone and food freshly cooked in the oven. She reunites with the others to share her findings, and they decide to split up to investigate. Roy leaves Kilowattrel to scout from the sky, but the Frigatebird Pokémon is ambushed shortly after. Liko and Dot find Orla in the engine room and they leave in fear when she begins chanting and dancing out of nowhere. Meanwhile, Roy and Ult encounter Mollie behaving the same way in the infirmary, which forces them to run, while Lucario is secretly ambushed by the unseen intruder. As they catch their breath, Sableye notices something approaching and tries to alert its Trainer while the intruder hurls a mochi toward Cap. However, the intruder's attempt backfires when Roy moves, resulting in the mochi being eaten by Ult instead. Liko and Dot regroup with Roy, reporting that everyone else is acting strangely, including Murdock, who they had encountered earlier. The trio then realize Ult is now acting like everyone else, while Sableye directs Roy's attention to the box that holds the intruder. Cap chases after it, but also gets caught by the intruder.

The Rising Volt Tacklers under Pecharunt's influence while Quaxwell dances along

Liko, Roy, and Dot retreat to the kitchen to plan, only to leave when Mollie and Ult arrive. When the elevator arrives, Dot steps inside to stop Murdock, who was waiting inside it, before the doors close. Outside, Liko and Roy confront the unknown Pokémon, which has captured Cap, Kilowattrel, and Lucario using some chains, along with their strangely-behaving friends, including Dot. Despite trying to recuperate with Roy in the meeting room, Liko had to escape again when her friend is acting strangely as well, only for her to be force-fed some mochis when she gets cornered. With the Rising Volt Tacklers under control, the group begins a dance party, joined by the onboard Pokémon.

However, the party is cut short when Diana arrives and scolds the Pokémon, revealed to be a Pecharunt. Hoping to please her with the bigger space of the Brave Olivine, the Subjugation Pokémon had used its mochi to control the Trainers, much to Diana’s displeasure. She explains that she discovered a Mythical Pecha Berry while in the wild with Hamber. Upon reaching Kitakami, they bonded with the residents and enjoyed themselves. When a Ludicolo wore itself out, Diana wanted to offer the Mythical Pecha Berry, only to find it gone. Seeing her dilemma, Pecharunt controlled the people of Kitakami and some Pokémon to bring berries to Diana and Hamber, mistaking the two for the elderly couple it cared for. However, Diana refused the berries, resulting in a battle against Pecharunt and the controlled Pokémon. Once Pecharunt was weakened, Hamber realizes the Subjugation Pokémon wanted to go with Diana, and she decides to catch it. After restoring peace between Kitakami’s people and Pecharunt, Diana and Hamber went their separate ways, with Diana continuing adventures alongside her newly caught Pecharunt. As Liko asks Pecharunt to get along with her grandmother, Dot reminds Diana of the item she wanted to give Liko. From her car, Diana gives a set of Auspicious Armor to Charcadet since it was lying around in her ancient castle and the Fire Child Pokémon takes it in awe as Ludlow continues dancing in the night, leaving his Quagsire worried.

Trivia

Errors

  • Roy gets possessed by Pecharunt despite not eating its Binding Mochi like the other humans did or being Toxic Chained by the Subjugation Pokémon like Captain Pikachu, Lucario, and Kilowattrel were.
  • When Roy's team appears, controlled by Pecharunt, the piece of the toxic chain around Lucario's neck is the same color as the fur on his torso, and the black part of Kilowattrel's body that should be between the yellow and grayish dark blue parts of his body is missing.
  • In one scene, Kilowattrel's toxic chain is positioned above its wings, around its neck, instead of below, around its waist.
