Boosts the power of moves of the same type as the Pokémon by 100% instead of 50%.
Adaptability (Japanese: てきおうりょくAdaptability) is an Ability introduced in Generation IV.
Effect
In battle
Adaptability increases STAB of a Pokémon with this Ability from 1.5 to 2.
When a Pokémon with Adaptability is Terastallized, Adaptability only affects moves of the Tera Type. If the Pokémon's Tera Type is one of its original types, its STAB is 2.25; otherwise, it's 2.
Stellar-type moves are unaffected by Adaptability.
In Pokémon UNITE, Adaptability is the Ability of an Eevee that will evolve into an Sylveon. It increases the user's Special Attack by 5% for 1.5s, when it deals or receives damage, stacking up to 4 times. This becomes Pixilate upon evolving.
Skrelp and Dragalge may draw inspiration from multiple invasive algae species, including Dasysiphonia japonica, which causes toxic algal blooms that can kill native fish species.
Yungoos and Gumshoos appear to be based on mongooses, which were introduced to Hawaii (the inspiration for the Alola region) and other island ecosystems mostly to fight off invasive rats (referencing its rivalry with AlolanRattata and Raticate).
Glimmora (and by extension Mega Glimmora) might be loosely based on the blue passionflower, which is native to South America, but was introduced to Spain (the inspiration for the Paldea region) and now grows in the wild there.
