Effect

The Heavy Ball can be used to catch Pokémon. It cannot be thrown very far and quickly falls to the ground upon being thrown, but is more effective if the Pokémon it's used on hasn't noticed the player. If so, it attempts to catch the Pokémon with a catch rate modifier of 1.25×. Otherwise, it has a 1× modifier.

During a battle, the modifier is always 1.25×, as the game defaults to that bonus being active, regardless of whether the Pokémon had previously noticed the player before initiating the battle.

Description

Main article: Hisuian Heavy Ball (Astral Radiance 146)

Hisuian Heavy Ball was introduced as an Item card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Sword & Shield Series (the Japanese Sword & Shield Era). It was first released in the Japanese Space Juggler expansion and the English Astral Radiance expansion, with artwork by Studio Bora Inc. It allows the player to look at their face-down Prize cards, reveal a Basic Pokémon they find, put it into their hand, and put this card in its place.
