Kuro
Kuro means black/dark Dark Type Gym Leader, Everybody wants this! D: - unsigned comment from Franztrovao (talk • contribs)
- Sounds a lot like speculation. Unless you get a reliable source confirming this, we can't say he's going to specialize in the Dark-type. - unsigned comment from Marked +-+-+ (talk • contribs) 14:59, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- It's a speculation. '-'--FranzLiszt (talk) 17:05, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Gender
Why is his gender classified as unknown? Chomper4 (talk) 17:30, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- Because Zakuro could be a woman. Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 17:57, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- I noticed that the gender has been changed to female, and I definitely disagree with that. Like anything else, if we don't know something, especially when it's clear that it's not universally agreed upon, we shouldn't assume or speculate. It should stay as unknown. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 05:35, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Zakuro is really a guy based on the Corocoro magazine-- ~~XY6~~July 12, 2013
- Exactly how? Also, "Zakuro" is a completely female-exclusive name.--電禅Den Zen 12:39, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
The official website avoids using any gender specific pronouns, so I think we should definitely keep it as unknown for now. -Pokélova! 16:26, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
- The official English site doesn't. As other European languages rely more heavily on genders, from the French page I've deduced that Grant is male. --SnorlaxMonster 16:40, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Infinite redirects
For some reason, the Grant page keeps on becoming a redirect page of itself and is constantly taking me there. PattyMan 15:56, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Name Origin
Assuming he's a Rock-type gym leader (he is a rock climber with gems in his hair) I'd say his name comes from granite. I'd argue that's more plausible than pomegranite (he's definitely not a grass-type leader). Kookamooka (talk) 00:15, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
- Pomegranate has nothing to do with types. Characters in the Japanese versions are named after plants. Since Clemont has "lemon" in it and Viola keeps her Japanese name, it's obvious that they are trying to keep the theme, sort of. Granite is likely, but until we know his specialized type, we can't just assume the origin. It'll be added once we know it. Ataro (talk) 00:29, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
- Ooh I didn't notice the fruit theme. Fair enough! Kookamooka (talk) 19:01, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
I like to think that Grant's name originates from the Jurassic Park character, Alan Grant, who was a palaeontologist(basically a fossil hunter). The link between the two is Grant's party, which are dinosaurs. what do you think? Animebernard
- I agree. Also, Cyllage City is not far from the Glittering Cave, where fossils can be found. MetalMetroid997 (talk) 10:36, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
no i just meant tha name, i never 'forced'it on anyone. just an idea.- unsigned comment from Animebernard (talk • contribs)
Korean name for Grant
His Korean name is 자크로 Jakeuro.
Rock Type Leader
I know we're waiting for official confirmation, but here are the things that point to Grant being a Rock type leader: His official profile background is brown, his badge looks like bricks, his gym looks like it has a cavern motif, he's a rock climber, and his hair looks like a mountain with gems in it. The name also sounds like Granite, a type of rock. CoolDudeAl (talk) 00:59, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
- But as you already said, we are waiting for official confirmation. --HoennMaster 06:46, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Battle Chateau Lv 40
I just fought Grant at the Battle Chateau and his pokemon were lv 40. His Aurorus had Rest, Sleep Talk, Avalanche, & Stone Edge.(But it only used Stone Edge, Had to use Ditto to find out the other moves). The only move his Tyrantum used was Stone Edge too, but I couldn't find out what it's other moves were. - unsigned comment from StarDragonJP (talk • contribs)
Is this trivia worthy?
Is it worth mentioning that Grant is the only Rock-type specialist to not use a member of the Geodude or Onix lines at one point in the games? I know the anime replaced his Amaura with an Onix, but the anime ≠ the games. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 18:42, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
- He's not the only one. There's also Olivia. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 23:40, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
- Olivia has an Alolan Golem in the Elite Four. The Great Butler (talk) 04:16, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- She still doesn't use Onix. That invalidates it. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 15:25, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- Is the Geodude line by itself notable? --The Great Butler (talk) 05:04, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
