Blue (game)/Red, Green, and Blue

This is a list of the teams of the rival in Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue. His starter Pokémon depends on the player's choice (he will choose the one that is strong against the player's), while the remainder of his team will be filled out based on this choice.

In the fourth through seventh battles, Blue has a Potion for each of his Pokémon that he uses 12.5% of the time if the HP falls below 20%. In the Champion battle, he instead uses Full Restores with the same logic.

First battle

Bulbasaur If the player chose Bulbasaur:



Charmander If the player chose Charmander:



Squirtle If the player chose Squirtle:



Second battle (optional)

Bulbasaur If the player chose Bulbasaur:

Third battle

This battle can be skipped by obtaining a Pokémon with Cut from a trade, and then leaving Cerulean City by cutting the tree blocking the south exit.

If this battle is skipped, it is possible to break the gameplay sequence by having this battle at any point later in the game (even after other battles against Blue).

Fourth battle

This battle can be skipped by obtaining a Pokémon with Cut from a trade instead of receiving the HM01 (Cut) in S.S. Anne.

If this battle is skipped, it is possible to break the gameplay sequence by having this battle at any point later in the game (even after other battles against Blue).
