Tail Slap (Japanese: スイープビンタ Sweep Slap) is a damage-dealing Normal-type multi-hit move introduced in Generation V. It is the signature move of Minccino and Cinccino.
Effect
Tail Slap inflicts damage, hitting the target 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit 3 times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 5 times. This gives the attack an average power of 75. Each hit made has an equal chance to be a critical hit. A Pokémon with the Ability Skill Link will always hit five times when using Tail Slap, if it does not miss.
Tail Slap will continue attacking after a Substitute is broken. Bide and Counter will only acknowledge the last hit of this move.
If Focus Sash, Focus Band, or Sturdy activate before the last hit is dealt, the following hit will cause the defending Pokémon to faint; however, Focus Band can still activate repeatedly to prevent fainting. Each hit will cause Weak Armor to activate.
