The Spring Path (Japanese: への Path to the Hidden Spring) is a short path off the main area of Route 214 that leads into Sendoff Spring. There are no wild Pokémon on this short path.

In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, this path only appears after the player has entered the Hall of Fame. In Pokémon Platinum, the path appears after the player escapes the Distortion World to Sendoff Spring, with them being intended to exit through this path.

In Platinum, both the Spring Path and the Sendoff Spring are marked on the map as the "Spring Path".

In Diamond and Pearl, the background music is the same eerie music as in the Old Chateau. In Platinum, the background music is the same as the adjacent Route 214.

Diamond & Pearl arc

The Spring Path debuted in Shorting Out Electivire, where Platinum, Maylene, and Candice had come here to train with Volkner after their defeat at the hands of Jupiter at Lake Acuity. At first, Volkner was unwilling to train with them, having only come in hopes of facing the opponent who had been strong enough to defeat two Gym Leaders together. However, Platinum managed to convince Volkner to stay, and started a battle with him, all the while describing Jupiter's tactics to Volkner and demonstrating them with her own Pokémon.

As the battle progressed, Volkner told Platinum that if she would be able to defeat all of his Pokémon, he'd reward her with a Beacon Badge, just like in an official Gym battle. Eventually Platinum managed to beat the Leader of the Sunyshore Gym, earning her her eighth and final Badge.

In Double Trouble with Dialga and Palkia VI, Volkner, who had ignored the call to join the other Gym Leaders to fight Team Galactic at the Spear Pillar and was instead hanging out at the Spring Path, noticed a black portal over the Sendoff Spring, and informed Flint about it.

Platinum arc

In The Final Dimensional Duel V, Volkner and Flint traveled through the Spring Path on their way to the Sendoff Spring, intending to go battle Giratina in the Distortion World.
